Can't get rid of old email address when signing in

How come when I try to log in to my App Store my old e mail address always pop up even though I have deleted that email address, and put my new one in on the manage page.

Can't get rid of old email address

Since purchasing my iPad, I changed internet carriers and changed my email address. If I go to iTunes & App Store in Settings on my iPad, it still says my Apple ID is the now invalid email address. Can't get pass that point. Wants me to put in a Password for that ID that no longer exists.

The last thing that you want to do is to create a new Apple ID since purchases are always tied to the Apple ID that was used to make the purchases. You want to change the old Apple ID email address to the new one.
Did you follow these instructions to change your Apple ID?

If you followed those instructions and all went as it should, you can sign out of your old ID in settings>iTunes and App Store>Apple ID. Then sign in with the new ID. You should also take a look at this.

Getting rid of old email address

I cannot get rid of old apple I'd (email address) even though my new address and applied is verified. Cannot back up data because old email and password have been cancelled.

Whenever I open iPad. It wants to back things up but asks for password using old address. I have updated my profile and changed address in settings but still cannot get rid of it. Tried signing out also.

Has anyone the answer to the problem of not being able to get rid of old email address so the new one is the one that pops up and the old one is deleted

The only way that I currently know of that you can use to remove old / invalid email addresses is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults - which is somewhat extreme, and I assume that you don't won't to do that. You could try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe in a future update we'll be able to edit the list : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

When I try to send cerate an email and enter a contact, old email addresses pop up for the contact that are no longer current. I would like to delete them so only the most current address pops up but I can't find a way to delete them.

There is no facility for this in the Mail app. Over time, they will move to the bottom of the list, so they sort of go away on their own, but there isn't a delete option.

All apps, all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the Apple ID that was used to download the apps. Using Mail on iPad, if I try to address an email to myself, it pops up with two pre-fill options....one of them being my old and no longer useable email address. I tried finding the back up files for my iPad to see if I could locate the invalid email address and delete it. The old address is NOT in my address book nor is it still in settings for email accounts. Any suggestions to help with this annoyance will be greatly appreciated.

To the best of my knowledge you can't delete/remove them without restoring the iPad back to factory settings (which is somewhat extreme) - I havn't yet found a way and I've seen a few other posts asking the same thing. Getting rid of old email address problem

I have updated a friends email address in Address Book and deleted her older address. However when I'm in the mail client and go to type her name if defaults to her older address that I deleted! I can still get the new address by scrolling down but I want the older address gone period. Why is it still showing up if I deleted it?

I have been unable to find a way to remove email addresses so that old, incorrect addresses stop showing up in the address field when I type that person's name. I posted to an old post which has not been answered, but the answer someone else got was: "in Mail go to window menu->previous recipients. delete the obsolete addresses from the list there." So I went to the window menu-previous recipients and deleted obsolete addresses. The deleted addresses still come up. I restarted, but that didn't do it. When I open the previous recipients list, the email addresses that I deleted are gone so there's no way to delete them again. Is there another way to do this? The addresses have also been deleted from my address book, so it's not getting them from there.

no, that would only clear the previous recipients list. it won't touch the address book. but if you got it fixed then you don't need to do that.
That would be worse than having to deal with the wrong address situation. Also, when I deleted the addresses, I used the keyboard delete key. I think that's the problem, as I went back and deleted something using the "delete" button on the recipients list page instead, and it worked the way it's supposed to.

I can not get rid of a iCloud address in my drop-down from mail window

Email address wrong in mail on drop-down from window. The email was created as an alias in icloud but one leter is a mistake. I corrected this mistake with new address but can not get rid of old address and its not in icloud mail either.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Apple calls it "the From pop-up menu" — see under Set the From address in this Apple doc:

...Presumably if follow the instructions there and set "Send new messages from" to the address you want, you won't then need to click on the "From pop-up menu" and see the incorrect address.
Perhaps someone else here knows how to remove the incorrect address completely — or try clicking on "Manage your Apple ID" here:

All iPhone apps are digitally signed using the Apple ID they were purchased with. You CANNOT change this. You either enter the password for the original Apple ID, or you delete the App and download a new copy using the new Apple ID. Free apps that do not have lots of in-app content (like your Solitare High Score) are not a problem. Paid apps and free apps with lots of built-up/earned content can be very annoying as you have to re-pay for the app and/or build-up/earn that content again.

I've spent over 3 hours on the phone/chatting to online support and none of it seemed to help as it all revolved around resetting emails etc but can't do any of it without my access to my old email. Now my phone won't take cloud because they advised to set up new apple ID and use that, but can't sign out of old one completely. Nooooooo! lol... If I want to download again I will, I don't want an electronic trail. Plus when I have Ibooks open, sometimes I will accidently hit the item and it will immediatly try to download it. The problem with that is that its "Time magazines Best Photos of 2012" etc and it locks up my IPAD cuz of sheer size of the book. So I would like it gone from the history.
