Can't get rid of prefixes in Table of Contents

Doing a table of contens for a book with 12 chapters. Mostly it works fine but one thing I can't get right: most of the entries work fine but some appear with prefixes, as in "Ch_5:102.
I can't get rid of them. I have gone to the made sure that no prefix is entered in the numbering options for that chapter. I have done "Update Numbering" several times.  What else can I try.
I'm also confused about how to select the correct TOC styles for different headings in my chapters. In the chapters, I have styles "Heading One" "Heading Two" etc. and I want to associate them with styles TOC One, TOC Two, etc. but I find it a bit confusing.
Thanks

It is possible to write insults on purpose. Sometimes they're sent in reply to a posting or reponse that's misinterpreted as a slight. It's always a good idea to respond by asking if it was intentional.
The only discipline that's applied to participants who post intentional insults is that nobody pays attention to the particular posting, and forever after most sincere list participants simply ignore posts by that person.

  • How do I get rid of the extra table of contents that appears following the Pages export to epub?

    When I export my document to epub out of Pages and then open it in ibooks (or any other ereader for that matter)  an extra table of contents with links to the document sections appears at the beginning. This toc has its own numbering system--with its numbers set in front of those I have assigned. This toc is ugly and superfluous and doesn't seem to have anything to do with the table of contents available in the dropdown menu used while actually reading the document. How do I get rid of this extra table of contents? I'm sure I must be missing something obvious, but I can't find a way to remove it. Thanks for any help with this problem.

  • How can I get rid of Global Temp Table

    Hello,
    I've been writing PL/SQL stored proc for creating reports on VB.NET front end. Until now, I've been using session specific global temp table to store intermediate results and at the end I pass the result set to .NET via reference cursor. The reports are created by simply binding the ref cursor result sets to .NET grids. It's been working fine, but I am kind of bothered by the temp tables. I looked on other options, but couldn't really come up with one.
    Can somebody suggest me how I can get rid of those temp tables? Thanks,

    Tubby, that's exactly I was trying to do. I think that table type has to be defined in database, not within PL/SQL. How can I create that table of user defined record type? I tried that, but it doesn't allow me. I think I am missing something. For example,
    create type group_t is record
    (A varchar2,
    B number,
    C number)
    now inside sp, i have something like:
    type my_group is table of group_t index by binary_integer
    now I have sp cursor as
    cursor cur_test IS 'ABC' as A, 1 as B, 5 as C
    now i do something like this. My original queries are longer and much more complicated so please don't suggest you can directly open ref cursor for this query.
    FETCH cur_test BULK COLLECT INTO my_group;
    Then I do all the processing, calculations, totals, sub-totals, and insert into temp table and return via ref cursor.
    My problem is I can't directly fetch into the above table you mentioned. How should I go about in this situation?
    Maybe I should STOP thinking about this approach and just do whatever I've been doing or solve it through pure SQL. However, there are tons of problems with pure SQL approach.

  • Getting Rid of Pictures in Table of Contents

    I presently have an Indesign Book File with around 50 or so chapters. Each of these chapters has a heading style that I've created and told the TOC to generate from. These chapters also have screenshots (pictures) that keep showing up in the Table of Contents when I generate it. When I try to create a Table of Contents I get something like this, and I obviously don't want these pictures in the TOC. Does anyone know why this is happening?

    That's one approach, not necessarily the best, though, as it may do bad things to the layout.
    You can also select and delete them manually from the TOC, or create non-printing text containing just the part you want, with a different, unique paragraph style and put them on the pages wher the real headings appear, then build the TOC from those, instead.

  • I can't get rid of a script - chrome://bp/content/bp.js213. It keeps running; I get the pop up to stop it; I click stop script; it still keeps running. It causes freeze up and crashes.

    I have disabled some of my newer add ons. I seem to be getting a lot of java errors. My anti - spy/virus often gets hits on java errors. I have ESET Smart Security and PC Tools Spyware Doctor. There are often times they get hits on trojans; usually from some java or chrome error. Outside of the chrome script that keeps running. Thank you for your time and consideration. I really enjoy Firefox Beta. It seems that I didn't have near the problems with the old Firefox versions. Please help; may switch back to older version. BTY; I have Windows Vista as my OS.

  • Crazy gap I can't get rid of! help - please??

    Hi - my first time on here (well, needing to be on here..!).
    I'm having a heck of a time. I've just been hand-coding a fairly
    simple site - which I've now finally gotten around to updating.
    The site is:
    http://www.arcfoto.com
    I'm trying to set it up as a fixed (un-resizeable) console
    window with a flexible content pane. So - I've been using
    dreamweaver to set it all up. But the problem is that I've got this
    really persistent gap that I can't get rid of. It's spans the left
    and top sides. (about 10px of white) - in the version you see if
    you visit the URL - I've had to add gap to the bottom and right -
    just to not make it look TOO WEIRD. But I'd really really like to
    get rid of it.
    The basic architecture is the following: Javascript window
    containing tables to organize content. Nothing special - just
    rollovers. A friend suggested I could add CSS commands to get rid
    of it. I've been doing a fair bit of messing around with any and
    all CSS parameters I could.... but nothing seems to really make a
    difference. I'm thinking it's got something to do with the
    javascript window definition for the window on the entry page
    (previous page). But I really have no idea. I'm HOPING, PRAYING -
    that someone here might have a suggestion for a quick fix - or a
    fix of any kind...! I've been struggling with this for WEEKS
    now...!
    Thanks.

    Martin?
    Your PNG files are so huge because you have not properly
    exported them from
    FW. Just export as JPG images - they'll be fine if you don't
    OVER optimize
    them, and they'll be MUCH smaller than these are now.
    This is a bit hinky -
    .style1 {
    font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-weight: bold;
    color: #D1CED0;
    border-top: 0;
    border-left: 0;
    border: 0;
    body {
    background-color: #666666;
    border-left: 0;
    border: 0;
    border-top: 0;
    border-top-style: outset;
    margin-left: 0px;
    margin-top: 0px;
    try this -
    .style1 {
    font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-weight: bold;
    color: #D1CED0;
    border-width:0;
    body {
    background-color: #666666;
    border-width: 0;
    margin-left: 0;
    margin-top: 0;
    But the big question is: will it work for me?
    It could.

  • How can I get rid of CSS

    OK. I am a newbie. I am a photographer and I am teaching
    myself DW 8 because none of the 4 people I hired was able to build
    a website that I could control -and add photos and descriptions
    myself.
    So, I am working on a site that has the footprints from
    several other designers.
    I thought that I had constructed/modified the site with
    tables, but I apparently still have some CSS elements in the site I
    wound up with.
    For example, others have noted that:
    >Unrelated problem, but your CSS looks to be a little
    messed up. You are linking to an invalid stylesheet, you are
    >referencing styles that are not defined, and your naming
    conventions are rather meaningless.
    and
    >..and in some of your pages you are referencing css files
    on your local drive.
    How do i identify and delete the CSS files and references -
    but keep my tables and information intact? I have only a few pages
    to work on, so manual editing of the pages is no problem now.
    At some point I will try to learn CSS - but for now I just
    want a site that works, and that I can understand and update.
    How do I get rid of CSS??? Or maybe I should ask - -Can I get
    rid of CSS?

    this is a bad practice to place large image in a site and
    forced it to re-size by html, user will still wait to load full
    image size when you could have a small image there and the image
    quality is bad when image re-size is forced. You should re-size
    images outside of html and place them in html to its original size.
    >
    Thanks very much for your reply. I will look for yet more
    help to get rid of CSS.
    I do not understand your comment on the images. I created,
    for example, dune-1120 - as a 700x695 jpeg in Photoshop CS (saved
    for the web). On my browser -Mac Safari - it IS opening as that
    size (using JustSo PictureWindow). I did not intend for it to be
    resized by HTML. i will check the other images on the various pages
    (as you noted on
    http://www.naturephotostudio.com/photography.html)
    i think that those 2 images were created at 700x700 pixels and then
    resized whe I inserted them into the table. They are only one or
    two images that do not link to full size windows, and I could
    remake them as jpegs at the final size.
    On the other hand - I see no problem with the images as is on
    my Safari browser and Mac monitors.
    I am sorry that there is no simple fix for removing all the
    CSS code. I may just start over and re-build the site from scratch
    with tables. I am not ready yet for CSS, but I need to get a site
    up and running - while doing my real job as a photographer. i am
    also tired of trying to find designers who are willing to sit in my
    studio and build the site on my local Macs so that I can run it
    form the studio.

    Wheni check out my site i see the table. liek i have all my

    rid of those lines?
    THANKS

    In DW? Those lines are just in the editor. Preview in Browser
    and you
    won't see them .. if that's what you're talking about. Unless
    you have
    created borders and then solve that by setting border = to 0.
    But what would really be helpful would be a URL to your page.

    Hi,
    Edit the background image to remove the white at the top or
    adjust your

  • Can't Get Rid Of Space At Page Bottom

    The Good:
    The Bad:
    I make the appropriate changes in Dreamweaver so it looks right but when I view it over the internet there is too much space. Does anyone know how I can remove this extra space?
    Thank You!

    Here's the bad:

            I have a couple questions about your product.  Its hard to get the straight facts regarding this supplement on the internet but the fact that you list your competitors directly on your site gives you credit in my mind.<br />
              <br />
            First I see the amount of human growth hormone in your oral spray per dose but I'm wondering how that would compare to the amount in a prescription injectable dose?<br />
            <br />
            Second can you find yourself in a situation for having this delivered to your home or having the purchase on your credit card since it is &quot;HGH&quot;<br />
            <br />
            And finally,  myself and 4 or 5 of my gym friends are looking at this product to restore our energy and help with our gains so I'm looking at ordering between 12 and 18 bottles at once.  Is there a better deal for buying in bulk?<br />

        <p class="bodytext">We appreciate your business and if you aren't happy neither are we. Returns are not a big deal for us. We only get about 1 or 2 per month, less than one half of one percent of our business. We don't hold your money for weeks and weeks.  It usually takes us only 24-48 hours to issue a refund after receiving all bottles, new and used, back in the mail from you. </p>
        <p class="bodytext">Some people don't react to homeopathic products of any kind, not just homeopathic HGH oral sprays, and the science of homeopathy doesn't know why. That's just the way it is. Everybody is different and 2% of the population falls into this category. So we don't require any kind of explanation from you. We enjoy having happy customers who use our product and happy customers who are unable to use our product. Our no-questions-asked guarantee and fast response to a refund makes this so.</p>
        <p class="bodytext">You don't need a return authorization number. We like to keep it simple. Please, though, make sure at least your name and address are on the inside of the package as sometimes the returned bottles get separated from the packaging. If you can include your order number that will streamline and speed the process but it's not necessary.</p>
        <p class="bodytext">You do have to pay for the shipping back to us, less than $5, but the complete amount of the purchase, including shipping to you, is refunded. The refund usually takes from 1-3 days to appear on your statement and if we have a valid email we will notify you of the refund.</p>
        <p class="bodytext">Why do we require that you send the bottles back? Well, unfortunately, there is a pretty common internet scam in which people buy products, resell them new, and then demand a refund. Pretty amazing, huh? We were victims of this scam when we first started out: you live and learn! So this policy keeps the scammers away.</p>

  • Can't get rid of icons

    Hi, newbie here.  I have an 8900 from ATT.  My problems started when an icon with a down arrow with asterix and 3 showed up.  I got online and found possible solutions...battery pull, clear out app messages, etc. Nothing has worked.  Unfortunately, one poster said to go into the host routing table and click registe now.  Well now I have a mesage icon that I can't get rid of!  So now I have two problems!  Any ideas? This is driving me nut!

    Hmmm...it's hard to know what icon your are seeing. Can you describe more? Like where exactly on the screen it is? And it's colors? If you can get an image of it, that would probably be the best...
    Also -- I'm not sure what you mean by "app messages"... the Messages app contains everything, and everything is findable via the View Folders selection. Unless -- have you separated MMS/SMS to an icon of their own? If so, those are no longer reflected in Messages...
    Anyway, more description about this errant icon will help the most, I think.
