Can't get rid of "purchased" TV shows
I download just about every free TV show offered on iTunes, because, despite how bad some of them are, they're still entertainment when riding the bus. But now that iTunes has that "transfer purchases" feature, I can't seem to delete purchased shows. I can delete them in iTunes, but then every time I sync my iPod, iTunes asks if I want to move those shows back into iTunes, from the iPod. The catch is, if I say no, they remain on the iPod, taking up space, and if I say yes, then I'm back where I started.
Any idea how to get them off the iPod?
Make sure you've got Syncing TV Shows on, then plug
in your iPod again. Then, when the menu comes up say,
'Don't Transfer', and then it should delete them from
the iPod.

I tried to download this Lost Survivor Guide thingy ages ago and it didn't work. Under album it says "Orphaned Videos in Database - Do Not Use". The problem is, I can't get iTunes to stop trying to download it. I have deleted it jillions of times, but every time iTunes "Checks for purchases" it shows up again. What am I doing wrong?
You cannot yourself delete a queued download. Contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the form linked from the bottom of their Download FAQ web page (I recommend that you use the form, not the link in your Purchase History as they advise; that's not proven to be very reliable) and explain the problem to them. They should be able to remove that item from your queue.

Is there any way that once i get my tv shows and movies on my ATV i can delete them from my computer without losing them from my ATV?
The most important consideration here is that AppleTV must not be treated as a storage device.
If for some reason you needed those files somewhere else you cannot get them back to your PC/Mac from AppleTV. Same goes for photos and music.
If AppleTV hard drive failed you'd have lost your media too - whatever you do back them up somewhere but don't treat AppleTv as a backup device.

It started to show up when moving from CS4 and up. I am currently a Creative Cloud user

Please open the finder window click on "go" and choose "computer".
Navigate to MacHD/Library/Startupitems and send AdobeVersionCue to Desktop or some other location on the hard drive.
Then try to launch your application and check if the issue persists.

How can I get rid of old books that I have deleted from my device but still shows up as "purchased books" on "Icloud". I don't want to see some of these books at all. I can sort by one that are PDFs and ones currently on device, but it still gives option to show those old titles. Does anyone know how to erase your "Icloud" history, please?
Nooooooo! lol... If I want to download again I will, I don't want an electronic trail. Plus when I have Ibooks open, sometimes I will accidently hit the item and it will immediatly try to download it. The problem with that is that its "Time magazines Best Photos of 2012" etc and it locks up my IPAD cuz of sheer size of the book. So I would like it gone from the history. Isn't there a way to clear the history?

I want to switch stores from Japan to USA. I used to have an iTunes card, and there's 15 YEN left in my account, how can I get rid of that so I can start purchasing in the US store using my new credit card?

On my iPhone I see my friend's Apple ID when I want to update my Apps and can't seem to login with my own. What's wrong? How can I get rid off my friend's ID and login with my own when I want to update or download apps? I'm still not clear about what you mean about unlocking your phone. Normally, "unlocking" means entering the password if the phone is locked, which you should be able to do from the phone itself. If you want more help with this, you really need to take the time to furnish all the relevant details.
I have a MacBook Pro, and yes when I connect my iPhone on it it shows up in the devices list.
When you do that & click on the iPhone in the list, then click on the "Apps" tab at the top, do you see the apps you can't update listed there? If you click on the "Store" menu item does it show near the bottom that you are logged in with your own Apple ID?
As wjosten said, it sounds like one way or another, the apps you cannot update were obtained using your friend's Apple ID. You need to delete them from your phone & try buying them again. If they were in fact paid for with your own Apple ID you won't have to pay again; otherwise you will. -
In Mail on iMac, successfully running OS X Lion, one mailbox on My Mac for "Recovered Messages (from AOL)" keeps showing 1 very large message (more than 20 Mb) that I just cannot seem to delete. Each time I go into my In Box, the "loading" symbol spins and the message appears in the "Recovered Messages" mailbox. How can I get rid of this recurrent file, please?
At the same time, I'm not receviving any new mails in my In Box, although, if I look at the same account on my MacBook Pro, I can indeed see the incoming mails (but on that machine I do not have the "recovery" problem).
The help of a clear-thinking Apple fan would be greatly appreciated.

I worked it out.
Unhide your hidden files ( I used a widget from http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/developer/hiddenfiles.html)
Go to your HD.
Go to Users.
Go to your House (home)
there should be a hidden Library folder there (it will be transparent)
Go to Mail in this folder
The next folder ( for me ) is V2
Click on that and the next one will be a whole list of your mail servers, and one folder called Mailboxes
Click on that and there should be a folder called recovered messages (server) . mbox
Click on that there a random numbered/lettered folder -> data
In that data folder is a list of random numbered folders (i.e a folder called 2, one called 9 etc) and in EACH of these, another numbered folder, and then a folder called messages.
In the messages folder delete all of the ebmx (I think that's what they were from memory, sorry I forgot as I already deleted my trash after my golden moment).
This was GOLDEN for me. Reason being, when I went to delete my "recovered file" in mail, it would give me an error message " cannot delete 2500 files". I knew it was only 1 file so this was weird. Why 2500 files? Because if you click on the ebmx files like I did, hey presto, it turned out that they were ALL THE SAME MESSAGE = 2500 times. In each of those folders in the random numbers, in their related message folder.
Now remember - DONT delete the folder, make sure you have gone to the message folder, found all those pesky ebmx files and deleted THOSE, not the folder.
It worked for me. No restarting or anything. And recovered file. GONE.
Started receiving and syncing mail again. Woohoo.

how can I sync my Apple ID to my iTunes store sign-in window? An old ID keeps showing in the iTunes sign-in window and I cannot get rid of it to show my current Apple ID. I don't have the password for the old ID in order to "manage" my account and make changes. Help. Thanks.
Did you create a new account or did you update your existing account with a new email address ? You can tap on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stpre and sign out of it and you can then sign with the new/updated account.
If you did create a new account then your existing content will remain tied to your old account, so only that old account will be able to redownload that content and/or download updates to its apps. If you can't remember the password for it then you can try getting it reset via this page : http://iforgot.apple.com -
I bought a few songs on itunes but the songs appear in grey letters and I cannot transfer them to my iphone. I've bought/rented TV shows/movies since so there isn't an issue with my account. How can I get these newly purchased songs onto my iphone?
You made a purchase and exhausted the credit on your card before it processed. All purchases are final. Contact iTunes Store support. You need to settle up before you can purchase or download anything else.

"Show in Mail" link in To-Dos - can't get rid of, like a virus
Hello!
I use To-Dos in iCal intensively.
But strange thing started to happen - all my To-Dos magically get "Show in Mail" link in URL field.
When I enter a new To-Do - everything is fine,
but after a couple of days "Show in Mail" link sticks to it again.
(This link takes you to nowhere).
And I can't get rid of it any other way then just by deleting "infected" To-Do.
Please help.I think I've got it fixed....I "reset" my mail program, I deleted my mailbox then re-created it and I'm all set for now.

I have purchased apps in the past and now every time I download a new app my IPad notifies me that they cannot be purchased at the time. For example, tap tap revenge and 11 others cannot be purchased at the time. How can I get rid of it. Can anybody help?

Last week I set up a location based reminder in notifications to test it out. Worked great. However, I can't get rid of it. It does not show up on any of the pages, either reminders or completed. I can search and find it, shows it should be in reminders page, but it is not there for me to remove. Any ideas?

It sounds as if you purchased the app, but you also purchased some subscription within the app. You say "Apple is charging monthly", but it's probably the app writer that is charging you monthly for some subscription you purchased within the app. Contact the app vendor and tell them you want to stop the subscription.
