Can't get rid of white border around image

http://www.gunnar.ca/laminatepage2.htm
I created a rounded corner in photoshop for my table. I
created a cell in the bottom left corner of the table and placed
the gif. There is a thin whit border around the outer edge of the
gif, so it doesn't look genuinely rounded. Can anyone tell me how
to get rid of that so it looks like the table is actually rounded?
Thank you!

Because the table containing the GIF has a border. In your
styleA.css
stylesheet, the rule:
.border {
border: 1px solid #E5E5E5;
adds a border to the table. Delete the rule. Of course - that
may affect
other things that use the .border class. Or - delete the
class from the
table tag.
Several problems with the page:
styles.css cannot be found
sideNavStyles.css cannot be found
34 vaildation errors:

  • Getting rid of white border around photos when using iphoto to iweb

    Hi there,
Am creating web pages in iweb and importing photos from iphoto. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the white border around my photos (image frame)? Hoping to enhance some of the templates with my own images. I also have photoshop elements and have been having the same problem there. Sure appreciate. Kim Strouble

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The link to the site is broken. There is a fix for some of the strange goings on since the MobileMe conversion. See Wyodor's post in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1605665&tstart=0. After applying the fix to iWeb I found I might have to republish a second time, occasionally a third and make sure I cleared my browser's cache.
If you're using Firefox 3 that's a different solution that can be found here: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7486799#7486799
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • How can I get an even white border around 4x6 photo I am printing?

I am doing some photo restoration. I have a very very high res image that I want to print out at 4x6 and 8.5x11. I need it to have an even white border around it.
How can I do this in Photoshop CS5.5? I try to import it into inDesign it the dimensions don't mesh with the border. Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

If you want to add the border to the image iteself you could use Image > Canvas Size to increase it accordingly.

  • How to get rid of white border around Container Div (main box)?

I have look and look for a solution but couldn't find one. I'm developing a website but the main issue is the white (I changed it black so you can see what I'm talking about)  border around the website when i go to preview it from DW to Google Chrome or Internet Explorer.
I've tried everything! from setting body margins all to zero but nothing works... can anyone help me?!

No that's not what I'm talking about, the black div bot on the top is what i put, I put the entire style.css code in my last post, I'm talking about the white border on the right inside the scroll bar.
let me explain from the bottom, let say I don't put Margin: 0 under Body  in my style.css . I get a white (I made it Green to show you better) border around my entire webpage looking like this:
so this made me curios because I wanted to know why it gave me this border without putting Margin: 0 under Body in my Style.css sheet. so i went to inspect element inside Google Chrome and saw this:
I was shocked because it automatically added 8 px in Margin around the body. So I took all the advice i was given in this thread and put the Margin: 0 ; under Body in my Style.css Sheet and it did this:
for Some reason it says Margin 0 in the inspect element under body but put a default white border there to the right....
I have explained this the best way possible. PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP ME?!
ps. its doing this for all browsers so i know it not a chrome issue!

  • I can't get rid of white space between images (even when margins are 0)

I'd like the user to be able to add two images that actually touch. I've set up 2 image fields that are touching, and set the margins to 0, but there is still white space in between the user added pictures.
I thought maybe the problem had something to do with borders, but when i click the borders palette, it tells me "these properties are not available for forms that contain background artwork".
    Any help is appreciated.

The behavior only appears if you create a static form.
I saw an old thread about it here in the forums, you have commented too.
It probably will never get changed or nobody have ever send a bug report about this to Adobe.
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4927663#4927663
I never had such problem with image fields in dynamic forms.
And I almost never build static forms from existing PDF files, as those forms are too limited in — ahem — everything.

  • Can't get rid of white space

Hi, I'm new to dreamweaver, searched around but couldn't find a solution. Here is the site I can't get rid of that white space above the footer. It's a clearfloat I think. I've tried a whole bunch of things, but nothing works, it's not so much that I want to get rid of it, cause as I understand it's usefull, just want the footer and maincontent to line up. Thanks for any help.

Sorry.  I didn't see your site link.  Tired eyes can't see today.
Try changing your #container division's background from white to dark.
    twoColHybRtHdr #container {
         width: 100%;
         background: #000;
Also, just so you know, empty paragraph tags are not a reliable layout device. Consider using min-height property.

  • Can't get rid of thin outline around embedded movie?

...even after setting it to "Invisible Rectangle" in the settings box.
I'm trying to get a flash animation, converted to quicktime movie (imported with legacy format option), embedded into the PDF, and then playing as the page becomes visible (i.e. the look you'd get if you were using powerpoint)
    test file attached...
This is my 2nd preference as I was trying to get my flash animation embedded into my InDesign file which then was to be exported to PDF... but when I tried both quicktime movie and SWF it caused my Acrobat to "unexpectedly quit"... again and again... so after much frustration have given up and was trying to embed the quicktime movie into the PDF - which will be take up much more time as it's a 150 pg presentation in InDesign and every time I send the PDF for approval I will need to reimport the movies into the PDF... but at least it doesn't crash out... BUT just can't get rid of the thin black line around the movie.
I convinced the client to do the 150pg presentation in InDesign not powerpoint (as has been done previously) but need to offer them the same offering as powerpoint with all the animation - which I thought would be no problem with importing flash files into InDesign - but I'm finding it fraught with difficulties!
They'll be wishing they used Powerpoint!
Any help would be so much appreciated
PS using Adobe CS4, Mac OSX 10.4, Acrobat 9

Thanks very much for the response Sandee. I tried your suggestion of the  Annotation option and this worked! - wonderful.. altho this test now works for me I'd still love to get it working from InDesign.
What I'm trying to achieve... my client had 5 powerpoint presentations that need updating with new branding (totally about 160 pages - with about 20 basic animations - i.e. flashing lights on products etc).
I sold him on the idea of using InDesign/PDF rather than powerpoint - but am needing to find an easy solution for the animations. So I've been working on this test file. Have self taught myself on a basic flash animation (from Lynda.com)... and tried importing both SWF and QT .MOV into InDesign and then exporting to PDF and when it loaded up in Acrobat it would always "unexpectedly quit" upon opening... even after trying different versions of PDF compatibility and restarting etc.
Is there something obvious that I'm not doing right?
Also if I get it to work, does that mean that my client and all their staff around the world will need to be Acrobat Reader 9?
Thanks again for your time and help

  • How do I get rid of a border around a link?

    I made a 'twoColFixLtHdr.css' document. I inserted .png files
(button images) into the sidebar and have these linked to documents
using the 'Browse for File' icon in the Properties window. In
Safari and IE the pages look fine in that there is no blue border
indicating that the files are linked. In Firefox, however, there is
a blue border surrounding the files. Is there any way to get rid of
this border so that it doesn't show up in Firefox?
    Thanks for the help,
    Lou

    .oO(louhosta)
    >Thanks that did it. By the way, how did you learn how to
    do that? I would
    >never in a million years came up with that style rule "a
    img" let alone adding
    >{border: none; } to it! Any suggestions on how to start
    learning this?
Get a tutorial/book about CSS. Learn how it relates to HTML
    and which
things you can affect through CSS by changing properties.
    Learn how to
address specific elements by using selectors. These selectors
    are the
most powerful, but IMHO also the most underestimated feature
    of CSS.
It's really not that difficult. With just some basic
    knowledge, rules
    like
    a img {border: 0}
become almost trivial to write and understand.

  • Can't get rid of white screen on macbook pro

How do I get rid of white screen?

    Stacer125,
which model MacBook Pro do you have, and which version of OS X is installed on it?

  • Problem with white border around images

    Hey guys,
I'm new to the creative suite and have just finished running through all of the video tutorials, etc. I'm having a small problem which can be seen in the sample site I'm fooling around with here:
    http://www.andrewedunn.com/gsd/
I'd like to get rid of the small white border around the "GS" logo. It is an illustrator document.
Basically I put the letters in place, converted them to paths (so I can resize it) and dropped it in my GoLive document as a smart object.
A google such suggested rasterizing, but I couldn't get it to work after fooling with it a little bit.
Further, if I wanted to add a drop shadow to it, how can I do it so that it is transparent on top of the background images in golive? The one time I tried it, the drop shadow was placed on top of a white background.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Are your background images always going to be displayed left-aligned on a black background and always the same size, so that the left half of the logo will always be over the photo and the right half will always be over the black? Or will the size or placement of the photos vary?
Are all of the photographs in approximately the same moderate tonal range, or will some be bright and some dark?
If the background will be consistently as you show it, you should be able to anti-alias your logo against a medium gray on the left and black on the right for acceptable results. If the background is more varied, you are not going to get good results with either GIF or JPG format.
    See this related thread:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bc38b6e/3
    > Further, if I wanted to add a drop shadow to it, how can I do it so that it is transparent on top of the background images in golive?
Only by exporting as a transparent PNG, but then older browers won't display it properly.
If you are really needing to have a logo that casts transparent drop shadows on top of a wide variety of images, you might consider going the Flash route, even though you aren't planning animation. Flash has very good transparency handling, and there are Flash player plugins that are compatible with browsers that won't display PNG images.

  • White border around images in Easy Rotator

I would like for there to be a small white border around my images when i put them into easy rotator.  I really just want there to be about a 5 px space around them that is really just the background.  I cant seem to find the right place in the code to make the div that holds the background color... which is white...to make it have like a 5 px padding..
or even make a 5 px margin around all images.
I even tried to place the border around my images when placing them in the rotator but the top still pushed all the way up and there was only the white space on the left right and obviously the bottom where the dots are that shows which number slide I am on.
Where in the code will I find this so I can manipulate it... thanks again for always helping
    avery

Without a link, it's all guesswork.
Use Chrome or Firefox to preview your page.  Right Click and select Inspect Elements.  This should give you some idea of which CSS selectors are used by Easy Rotator.

  • Getting rid of gray border around jpeg overlay?

I have an imported jpeg image as my main image. I am overlaying another jpeg image logo. Around the logo is a grey border that is not in the image as it stands alone.  What is that and how do I get rid of it?
    Thanks

If you don't have Photoshop, Preview has an "Instant Alpha" feature... Just press and drag your mouse, then hit delete. Save as a PNG/PSD/TIFF, etc...

  • Round movie frame but can't get rid of white corners

I've used a rounded-rectangle as a mask so the corners of the
movie are rounded. That works, but the corners (background?) are
white still: basically I have a rounded movie playing in a square
white box. How can I get the background to be transparent?

I should have mentioned I'm using swfobject to embed the
movie in my final page. I've tried passing the "bgcolor" param
without effect. I'll see if I can learn anything using your
    suggestion, however. Thanks!
[edit] Yup, that helped by showing the correct format etc. of
the params. I also discovered I was omitting to set the
expressinstall param of swfobject to false, so that's why my
earlier attempts were failing. Thanks! [/edit]

  • How to get rid of shadowed border around screen on MacBook Pro?

Just wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of this shadowed border on the screen of my macbook pro. I think my young daughter made it appear when she was striking various keys at random on my computer when I was not there. The cursor does not work when its over the shadow (i.e. will not depress the red 'x' button to exit a window and I have to drag window out from under shadow to close it).
It also appears in the middle of screen when airplay is turned on. (See screen shots below)
I have been unable to find any other discussion on this issue.
Above is screen normally and below is when airplay is turned on. Please help, thanks.

    Hi rose_hedley,
I'm wondering if you have restarted your computer by now and if that helped.
That border is from Exposé with Show Desktop enabled (F11).
Mac Basics: Exposé (Mac OS X v10.6 and earlier)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2503
Need to temporarily clear the clutter? Press F11 and watch all your windows scamper away.
    Take care,
    Nubz
