Can't Get Rid of Windows XP

So I have this white macbook running only windows xp. There is no os x on this hard drive. No boot camp and no parallels. Solely runs on xp. I have the original recovery discs for os x tiger and i cant figure out how to get rid of windows and go back to running os x. Can anyone help shed some light please...

Insert the OS X disk. Reboot the Mac, holding down the Option key. You should see the boot panel, with the option to boot from the install disk. Do so by clicking the arrow under the disk image.
When booted into the CD, click through the first (language select) screen. Go to the Utilities menu, and choose Disk Utility. Using the Partition tab, repartition the hard drive to 1 partition, Mac OS Extended format. Close DIsk Utility and proceed through the installation on the new partition you've just created.
Good luck!

How can I get rid of Windows 8.1 on my new Lenovo laptop and install Windows 7?

Hi,
I'll assume your laptop was upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1
1. Start by copying all your personal folders (Documents, Pictures, Music, Videos, Favourites, local databases,
hosts files, etc) into an external disk, DVD, tape, whatever.
2. If I were you, I wouldn't use Windows 8.1 backup tool, I'm not sure Windows 7 Restore applet will be able
to read a Windows 8.1 backup.
3. Check that you have all the necessary licenses, CDs and executables to reinstall your former Windows 7
applications, components, browsers, plugins, Java, .NET Frameworks, etc. Be aware that some applications require
to keep same hostname and/or same IP and/or or same local username (or all of them) as they were on the original
Windows 7 machine.
4. Check that you have your Windows 7 CD and license handy.
5. Do you have a Windows 7 image backup of your laptop (prior to the Windows 8 upgrade)?
5.a Yes? Then restore that image and restore your personal folders on top. You might need to
install or reinstall some of the applications I mentioned on #3
5.b No? You'll have to format your laptop, install Windows 7 from scratch, create your local
user with administrative rights, install SP1, install necessary updates, reinstall all your
applications and finally restore your personal folders.

• Can't get rid of Windows on my Mac even with disk utility

I noticed this disk0r3 or something like that, and I know this is Windows.
I have a bit of a bug issuea nd the windows wasn't done very well. I wanted to erease it with disk utility, but it said it couldn't. What should I do?
I've tried the zero, 15, and 35 or whatever they offered.

Did you use Apple's Boot Camp utility to create a hard drive partition for Windows?
If so, do you want to erase the partition created for Windows or eliminate the 2nd partition and go back to a single hard drive partition?
If the latter, you have no choice but to reformat the hard drive first which erases the hard drive and then re-install OS X and all software.

Hello SaravSB, welcome to teh HP Forums.
I see that you're having an issue where the Windows help and support is popping up. I will try to help you with this.
I've looked into this for you, it seems this was an issue from back when Windows 7 launched. Any "solutions" also seemed to vary user to user. You may want to try contacting Microsoft for support on this. I was able to find a couple of posts off the answers.microsoft.com forums.

Hello
I found a simple yet effective solution for this problem, my friend had the same issue so instinctively as a technician, I suspect this was a malware of somekind so I re-formatted and installed Win7 funny it's still there, so I did a Hard disk wipe using Dalvik's and re-partitioned and formatted again, to my surprise it still have the same problem.
So I ask Mr. Goo' old Mr. Google for answer, but I've found more complications, sorry for the story, so without further a do, the solution.
Boot to safe mode. (may also work in "normal mode")
Go to Task Manager>
Click the Services Tab>
Right click "HelpPane.exe" or Help and support service>
Select Properties>
Click the Security tab>
Click the Advanced tab (for permissions options)
Then select the "permissions entries" one at a time>
Click Change Permissions>
Then click Edit>
CLEAR ALL THE CHECK BOX FOR ALL ENTRIES
This should prevent access to the HelpPane.exe to all users/programs.
This resolved my friends Windows 7 "Help and Support thingy" issue, hope it does yours too.
Message me for questions and/or clarifications/corrections.
Thank you"

To fix the problem of the help pane appearing everytime you start windows do the following:
1. Run 'msconfig'
2. Go to the 'Startup' tab
3. One of your 'Startup items' is causing the pane to appear and you are going to have to find out which one it is! Untick ALL the items and reboot. The help pane will not appear harrah! Rather than adding the Startup Items back in one at a time and rebooting a hundred times, tick half the programs back in and reboot. You can find the culprit in about 5 reboots if you do it logically and add/remove half/quarter etc at a time.
4. Finally you will be left with all your Startup items ticked and the guilty program unticked (and that annoying help pane will no longer be appearing)
5. Now delete the guilty Startup Item from the registry (which will also remove it from the msconfig startup tab.
6. Open 'regedit'
7. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg and delete the guilty program folder. BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY FIRST!
8. You're welcome."
Both of those, as well as other steps are located in this thread: Windows 7 "Help and Support" keeps popping up.
You could try those suggestions and even give that thread a read over, other wise the best option would be contacting Microsoft as stated above.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

• How can I get rid of the slide on add window that's making me crazy?

I updated to the latest version of Firefox for desktops today and all of a sudden I'm getting this slide in ad window that slides in from the left and I can't get rid of it! If this keeps up I'll have to stop using Firefox because I really hate this! PLEASE tell me how to get rid of it!

hey maxthepug, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

If you still have trouble, try deleting the preference files assoicated with Universal Access.
Quit System Preferences if it's open.
Go to ~/Library/Preferences
To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library
Move the com.apple.universalaccess.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
Relaunch System Preferences > Universal Access

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

• Can I get rid of a windows partition on a MacBook running 10.4.11 without having bootcamp or bootcamp beta?

Can I get rid of a windows partition on a MacBook running 10.4.11 without having bootcamp or bootcamp beta? If so, how?

Yes, I think so, as would Snow Leopard probably. If your computer meets the requirements it would only cost $29 to buy Snow Leopard versus $129 for Leopard.
Snow Leopard General requirements
Mac computer with an Intel processor
1GB of memory
5GB of available disk space
DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Leopard System requirements
You must have a Macintosh computer with:
an Intel processor or a PowerPC G4 (867 MHz or faster) or G5 processor
a DVD drive >built-in FireWire
at least 512 MB of RAM (additional RAM is recommended for development purposes)
a built-in display or a display connected to an Apple-supplied video card supported by your computer
at least 9 GB of disk space available, or 12 GB of disk space if you install the developer tools
