Can't get "suretype" to stay on

When I am texting or sending a BBM I have to reset my touch screen to "suretype" every time. I have a torch 9800 and prefer to use a reduced keyboard in portrait and suretype is much easier to use.

If this doesn't help, then there may be something else at play. What OS version are you running on your phone? To get this info, go to Options > Device > About Device Versions. Its the number listed after the v (e.g. 6.0.0.526). I'll check to see if this issue has been reported for others on the same OS, or will see if there is an OS upgrade that is available that may help.
Alternately, you can reload the software on your device. To do this, follow the steps in the following link and assuming that the problem is a software issue (which I expect it to be), this will get you back up and running:

Go to Settings>Mail>Gmail>>Advanced. Do you have an an item for Deleted Messages Remove? What options are available.?

I continue to have the problem, so the only solution that I could think of was to delete the Eudora ap. Since all the Eudora mailboxes are text files (including the address book), I will open them as text files when I need to access some info.

I couldn't figure it out, so I just deleted the Eudora application from my hard disk. Then I used a great program called Eudora Mailbox Cleaner to transfer my Eudora mailboxes to Apple Mail. It's working out well.

Let's move on to removing and restoring preferences, in more complete fashion that can be done from within Mail. Quit Mail, and use the Finder to open Home/Library and locate the Mail folder -- duplicate the Mail folder and drag the copy to the Desk top for temporary backup. Locate the Preferences folder (Home/Library/Preferences) and find the com.apple.mail.com -- drag it to the Desktop. Try to launch Mail, and when it opens, re-enter your mail accounts information, but DECLINE to import anything. Mail should re-discover your account folders, and all other messages. Now set the default mail client to Mail.

Thanks for the flag J.K. - they contaced me and solved my problem. On this account (which I created just to ask this question), I log in with my email rather than my user name (mtalldud). On the account that I was having trouble with, they told me to use my user ID instead of my email to log in and it worked. This is a bit confusing and seems a bit inconsistent but at least I don't need this temporary account any more to get into this community and find answers!

It sounds like you would like to send a text from your phone number on your portable computer. You can do this by setting iMessage to start new conversations from your phone number in the Messages settings:

Can't get keynote to stay connected to icloud

After updating my ipad 3 to ios 7, I can't get Keynote or Numbers to connect to iCloud. Pages works just fine. I move the slider to use Icloud but it wont stick. Any suggestions.

It's about what happened to iPod connectivity after a MacBook was upgraded to 10.6 due to a new iPad.
Solved. Had to do a reformat-install of 10.6, then a complete wipe-reset on the iPod from another computer. What a pain!

If all music that is available on your iPhone was purchased from the iTunes Store on your iPhone, first you need to authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes. After doing so with your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
If you synced your iPhone with iTunes on someone else's computer for the music that is available on your iPhone, and this music was purchased with someone else's iTunes account, you won't be able to do this transfer.
Without a computer backup available that includes your iTunes library, your iTunes library is lost.

I downloaded a persona from firefox (Alpinestars) I am trying to view the whole wording "Alpinestars" but it is currently squished. Funny thing is when I open the customize module its expands to exactly how I want it. I can't get it to stay that way. HELP

They should be nearly identical - Internet recovery has a few less features and takes far longer to start up. I think you only get Internet recovery on certain macs and even then only if the recovery partition isn't working. Once in recovery mode you should be able to repair the hard drive and permissions using disk utility.
Once you have repaired the disk you should be able to choose an install OS X option where it downloads a fresh copy space permitting and it tries to keep files in place.
I think N during startup gets you network boot and D on gets you the hardware test. Shift during startup should try to safe boot if there is some sort of conflict keeping it from starting normally.

Can't get Safari to stay logged in to sites.

I want to make the Switch from Google Chrome to Safari, but this has proved impossible so far, because Safari will not stay logged in to a lote of sites. It seems that various Internet forums are the worst offenders, but I've noticed it on occasion with my Gmail account and a few other things as well.
I've tried most of the obvious things: Deleting cache, cookies, and whatnot; turning on "always accept cookies," rather than the default about ignoring ones you don't manually visit, which shouldn't be necessary anyway; deleting some entries from Keychain Access; even deleting Safari's settings .plist file. None of those have worked. It almost seemed good again for a brief moment, but then I once again got stuck in an endless loop of logging in (i.e. navigate to forum page, goes back to login page, I log in, navigate to forum page, goes back to login page, repeat ad nauseam.)
I don't have this problem with any other browser I've used, and it's pretty much a deal breaker w/r/t using Safari as a default browser. I've read quite a lot about this being a very common problem, but I couldn't find any great answers, not to mention that a lot of the stuff I found was years old.
Any ideas?

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing some issues with Mail after updating to OS X Yosemite. To troubleshoot, let’s first try to rebuild your mailbox. You can follow the same steps from previous versions:

Select a mailbox, then choose Mailbox > Rebuild.
When you rebuild mailboxes for IMAP and Exchange accounts, locally stored messages and attachments are discarded, and the messages and attachments are downloaded again from the server to your Mac. Your mailbox appears empty until the download is complete.
You can also try deleting the affected account and re-adding it. in Mail > Accounts.
