Can't get to all the loops

still same question as before

There are not many percussion loops in the basic GarageBand, even set to 4/4. If you open the Loop Browser, click the "Reset" button, then "Percussion", you should see something like below: 105 loops showing, some Tambourine, Conga, Clave loops. If your Loop Browser does not look like this, with greyed out loops in the named list below, then you may need to install the additional content. Have you clicked on one of the grey loops? What is the message you get?
The best selection of percussion loops you will get with the "World Music" JamPack. It is no longer sold separately. The best (most economic) way to get it, would be to buy Mainstage 2. This will install all five JamPacks and you can use them from GarageBand as well.

From your backups. By doing a clean install you erased your startup volume. You may have installed OS X, but your personal software was erased. You can restore from backups if your have them. If not, then you've lost it all, permanently.

I have deleted some of the channel strip presets in Logic 8, is there any easy way of getting back all the original factory ones?

Yes, you drag them over.
Roght click on the installer packages on the DVDs, and click on the "show package conte4nts" button. This will open the installer package, then navigate until you find the presets. If you have several DVDs, it may take time to get to them, but they're there.
You'll have to place them in your drive here :
Macintosh HD / Library / Application Support / Logic /
That is where all the presets are found. You might have to enter your admin password to copy them over.

Clearing a conversation is the same as deleting the messages, so unfortunately they're gone. You could always restore from a previous backup, but you would lose anything that you've added/changed etc on your phone between the last time you synced your phone and now.

I reset Safari because it was running slow, and I just noticed that I lost all the favicons for the websites that I bookmarked and stored. When I click on the website, that individual favicon comes back and stays next to the web address in my bookmarks...
But I was wondering is there something that I can do to bring back all the favicons of my bookmarked sites in one step?

Sorry no. Next time you reset Safari, make sure "remove all website icons" isn't ticked.
Keep in mind, webpage icons can take up hard drive space and slow Safari down.
Tip... to make sure you have a backup, from the Safari Menu Bar click File/Export Bookmarks. Save them to an external source so that if you have problems with your Mac, you can Import back them in at a later time.

Thanks Barney, I tried that but all that comes up in Spotlight are the log files that show the file paths! I don't know how Steam works. Are all the files held by Steam on their server perhaps?

But you must stop using that Mac immediately, or your data will be over-written.

According to your descriptioin, I don't think this is system problem, it should be Intel driver problem. It would be contact Intel to confirm this issue whether this is their driver problem.

I've tried updating the software, reinstalling iTunes, using different ports on the laptop, different cables...just about everything. I have NEVER been able to connect this one device, but all the others are fine. I'm at my wits end. Is there someone out there who can help a relative novice figure out what's going on? I can get video on airplay anytime but i cannot get audio all the time. in sound output i select airplay but it only reverts back to internal speakers. same if i try earbuds. the only way to fix it is to restart computer. what do i do to fix it,

In case anyone has had the same problem as me, I have just managed to fix this by doing the following:
Switch off Mac
Switch back on in Safe Mode (Hit power button, then hold Shift key until a loading bar appears at the bottom of the screen).
Switch off Mac again
Remove power cord and wait 15 seconds
Plug power cord back in and hold down the keys alt, cmd, p, r all at the same time until you hear Starting chime for a second time and hopefully your audio will back.
