Can't get to apps store

Everything seems to work fine on this Itouch but when I click on the Apps store the thing just sits that and spins but never connects. I checked Safari and it is working fine. checked all the retrictions and have everything relevant open. I tunes works as well and what's loaded seems to work fine. if I can connect to the router without problems then shy can't the apps connect? I tried to reload the apps application directly from the website but when I clicked that the same thing happened. Any ideas? This unit is only about 5 months old. Thanks.

have you tried holding the power button for around 7 seconds and sliding the bar that appears. then when the screen goes blank holding the power button until screen goes back to normal.

As you have 10.5.8 you need to upgrade to at least 10.6.6 to get the App Store as this was the 1st version it came with.
A workaround is to get a friend who has 10.6.6 or better to download Lion for you without installing it. You can create an App Store account on the friend's computer I think to do this. Copy the Lion installer from that computer to a USB stick or burn it to DVD and you should be able to install it on your own computer, I think. You might have to create an empty partition on your own computer first for Lion installation as I'm not sure that it will install over Leopard.

I appreciate your effort and realize I did not provide a lot of background.
My issue began when I unintentionally managed to add an additional .com onto my new apple ID and the system then incorrectly verified this "none existent" address. Following days of effort and emails to Apple support I finally ended up getting set up with my new ID on iTunes.
The next problem was my App store login continued to have the "old" ID grayed into the signin and since I had changed it to a new ID, I could not login at the App Store.
I spent about 20 minutes on the phone with a total of 3 Apple reps without a resolution to me problem.
The last Apple rep, Chad wanted to be able to take a screen shot of what I was telling him, which made no sense to me but I was willing to do what ever was required to solve the problem. Unfortunately, Chad hung up or somehow disconnected before I received the email required for allowing a screenshot. After calling back and adding another 5+ minutes invested, I decided to attempt to change back to my old ID.
Once I had changed my ID back to the old one, I could download updates and purchases.
I realize my question was asking a lot but my hope was someone would have some idea as to how to correct the problem Apple Support could not. It seems to me Apple needs to make a correction on their end but it is now into week two of attempting to solve the problem and I am pretty much disenchanted with Apple Support due to the amount of time and effort already invested and lack of progress.

Can't get to App Store to download Mavericks

I've been trying for more than a week to get into the App Store to download Mavericks. I've reset my Apple ID, done everything I can think of to do, but am still unable to get the App Store to open on my 15" MacBook Pro. I'm running 10.8.5 on a 2.3GHz Core i7 processor on a computer that's a little more than a year old. What am I doing wrong?

I have tried sign off and back on. My iTunes works just fine. Only the App store doesn't work. I have tried the terminal message thing. I have tried to find my file. I bought Lion from the app store. PLEASE help I am so frustrated. I want to cry. When I as for help they send me to the boards to the support thing, but nothing on those pages have helped me. I know there are other post, but I don't know how to just dump eveything reload and then back up from my time capsule. How do I do that? I will that we could just reboot the App store.

I tired the

at first because the person was working out of lion but it kept saying not found, but I did everything else here next. I added the debug thing and didn't work but I didn't. Then I deauthorized my computer iTunes and reauthorized then signed in and out. Did not work. I then ran the permission part of Utilities and then ran the repair. after this I copied all three lines together pasted them into Terminal. After that it worked. I am so happy right now. I think I had to repair the disc to get it right. I wrote everything I did incase it was a combination of every thing.
This is how to enable the debug menu that is part of the thread.
Quit the Mac App Store
Launch the Terminal (located at /Applications/Utilities/)
Type the following command into the Terminal and then hit return:
defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
Relaunch the Mac App Store, the Debug menu is next to “Help” in the menubar
So now to the interesting part: what me helped was to select "clear cookies" in the debug menu first, and second to select "reset Application"
This was all found in that thread, but it is 11 pages.... this might be more helpful. There are other suggestions in the tread if this doesn't work for you.

After upgrading to iOS 8.2 can't update date (correctly (year stuck on 1970). This may be reason I can't get to app store.

After upgrading to 8.2, I can't access the App Store. After troubleshooting and searching the web, I found suggestions to update the Time setting to automatic, then reset the network settings. The problem is, it won't completely set the Time and Date setting correctly, it is stuck on 1970 and I can't change it automatically or manually. As a result, I can neither downgrade to 8.1 nor upgrade to 8.3 nor update anything else.
Any suggestions? It is a MD723LLA model (5th Gen, 32 GB with plenty of free RAM).

Go to Settings>General>Date & Time and make sure calendar is set to Gregorian.
Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple. Next would be to connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will go to 8.3

The App Store is a default app and cannot be deleted. First make sure it has not been disabled via restrictions. To check, head to Settings -> General -> Restrictions on the iPod and make sure there are no instructions in placing for installing apps.
Otherwise, do a spotlight search for it. While on your iPod's home screen, swipe to the right and enter in App Store.

I have done the software updates on my laptop but still can't get the app store

I am trying to download the app store for my laptop, however, I have done all the system updates (numerous times over the past few months) and the app store has never appeared. I can't seem to find a link to download it from the website and am not sure how I am able to get it on my computer without reinstalling my whole operating system or something (which I really don't want to do if I can avoid it).
Any information on this issue would be greatly apprieciated,

How can I get the App store to resolve a problem?

When I purchased a new Mac Book Pro last January I gave my old Mac Book to my son. A few days later I deleted my old iTunes account and ID and started fresh with same name, new password. Now I cannot update iPhoto because it came with the MBP which was still using the old account info. I have not had any problems updating other system software, and just updated Safari with my usual (new) ID and password. sup

What happens when you try to update iPhoto?
Most likely when you deleted the old account you broke the connection between the MBP and the App Store. I don;t think there is anything anyone here can do to help. You will need to contact App Store support to see if they can get this working again.

How can I get my app store and itunes to work in my iphone without dumping everything?

I have already dumped my phone twice to get itunes and the app store to work and it only lasts for a small time. I don't want to dump all my info again and then get everything back to what it should be just to have the stores go down again. Every time this happens some of my other apps don't work like they are suppose to work. When I try to ask for help from "professionals" I am treated like no one knows what I am talking about, but every other person I know that has an apple product is having the same issue. I don't know why it is not being fixed and why I am having to dump everything once or twice a week to keep my ipod and iphone working properly. You have to dump everything and not restore from back up to get it work. This is becoming completely unacceptable. If anyone knows any tricks at all please let me know. I want to download Lion from the Mac App Store. The App Store does not open. It has never opened but I never used it so didn't care. Now I want to download Lion but I can't get the Lion App because the Store won't open. It just hangs and then you get the error notice to try again.
What do I do about this? My Applecare ran out on my iMac in February so I have no coverage. What do I have to do to get it open so I an get Lion? I know a lot of people had this problem, but I don't know how...or if...they solved it.

Anyway, the easiest way is probably Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout
If you don't care for that method, you can find the App Store by swiping your home screen from left to right, and typing "App Store" in the search screen.
