Can't get video and audio together on mpeg

Hey..... I need to know this is very simple terms...... I'm really ignorant to all of the technical terms, etc. I've followed the procedure for compressing out of fcp and when it finally finishes, there is no audio. some projects are fcp, some are QT brought into fcp. Can anyone give me a simple step by step procedure for this? I'm using the Weyland book right now.

so you need elementary stream files, bcz DVDSP would mux it for you.
ok, just use compressor and create 2 files, one for the audio and one for the video.
of course i am assuming that you are using compressor 2. when you select a preset, you can set video and audio. make sure its dolby (2.0) if its stereo.
if you have compressor 1, then use compressor only for the video and use A.Pack for the audio.
both of the above mentioned methods will provide you with 2 files, a video file with the extension *.m2v and a audio file with the extension *.ac3.
both of these files can be imported into DVD SP.

how can i stream video and audio from macbook air to my tv?

Wirelessly: you need an AirPlay - enabled device such as an AppleTV.
Wired: if your TV has an HDMI port, you need a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter such as this one:
Mini DisplayPort to HDMI® Adapter w/ Audio Support
If your TV does not have an HDMI port you will need a converter that will convert HDMI input to whatever input your TV requires.

  • Prior to installing iOS 6 on my iPhone 4, I could stream video and audio via "Air Video" and "Stream to Me" from my PC, to my TV via a HDMI adapter. Now I can only get video and no audio.

I have been able to stream, via wi-fi, TV shows, movies and music from my laptop through a HDMI adapter via my iPhone 4, to my television. I use mainly "Air Video" but also use "Stream to Me", both with the same results. Since the update to iOS6 this is not possible. I can still get video but now no audio. Help me!

I too am having this very problem.  I have an iPhone 4S that is less than one year old.  Prior to updating my iOS firmware, I was able to record and transfer video to my PC and view it with a variety of programs without any modifications.  Since updating the firmware, all videos that have been taken are not viewable on my PC.  I can hear the audio associated with the video, but the video is blank.  I can transfer the file off my phone using the Windows transfer tool.  Then sync the video back to my phone and it works just fine.  I tried emailing the video to myself, that did not work.  I rebooted my computer, no luck.  I reinstalled QuickTime, still isn't working.  I can still watch the videos that were made with iOS 5.1.1 but nothing made with iOS 6.
I have been successful with the following procedure:  Once the video is transfered from the phone to my PC, I change the extension from .MOV to .MPG and this makes the video viewable with Windows Media Player; however, if the video is shot in a portrait orientation, it displays sideways in WMP as a landscape orientation.  I have been able to then run the video through Microsofts MovieMaker program to right the video 90 degrees but the image comes out a little squatty like it's out of scale.  In either case, it serves the purpose and I can export it to another .MPG format that I can then run through Sony Vegas and edit as I see fit.  While it works, this is a huge hassle and I shouldn't have to do it.
Does anyone know of anything that is working?  Are there new codecs somewhere that windows users need to get a hold of?

    Hi there.
I tried iChat for the first time this evening but I just can't get audio or video to work. I'm able to do text chatting without a problem. I'm connecting with broadband (512kbps) and my parents (who I'm trying to chat to) are the same. We're both using ethernet router modems.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

AN unusual place to be sent.
I only keep that page to make sure I have it somewhere.
Do you think it is better than Page 3 and Page 4
Is it a Simpler place to start ?
    EDIT:
Page 11#part5 does have a pic of the Panther Firewall. It does not list the Jabber ports. See page 4 for those.
Some my find page 3 gives too much detail of what iChat does with each port but is there to provide background so that people don't skimp on the set up.

  • How to get video and audio while chatting with your PC friends.

Just download a program called ivisit.
    http://www.ivisit.com/
Everything else I tried sucked. Nothing worked. Yahoo, MSN, AOL IM... they all crapped out. But ivisit rocked right out of the gate, and you can get it free.
WIth the lite version you get only one connection and it lasts for an hour. After the hour you lose video but audio and chat still works. You have to be disconnected fro the other user for a half hour for the video feed to work again.
But if your itching to connect to your family with your new iSight and all the other big name programs are disapointing you, then one hour is plenty of time.
    ivisit saved my christmas.

I agree. iVisit was a lifesaver. I was regreting getting my iSight until I had a successful connection. It was truly a Macintosh program - easy to setup, intuitive, not too much tech stuff to resort to figure out how things work. I was unhappy with resolution, though. You have to pay to get good resolution.

  • Can I cut video and piece together parts?

Lets say I shoot video with someone standing on the left
Then I shoot video of the same scene and have that person standing on the right
Can I cut the second video and put on top of the first one on the right hand side?
I thought I'd ask before buying or trying
    Thanks
    Omar

Like Tom said, on the editing side of things you can do it rather easily with the trim tool.
On the shooting side, you have to be careful with two things, to make sure that the two shots can be combined together seamlessly.
    1) Use a tripod and make sure the camera does not move at all, so that the two parts of your image background fit perfectly. If possible, use a remote device to start and stop the camera, or start the camera and let if shoot continuously through both shots, so that the camera does not shake or move.
    2) Be careful with the lighting. This is very hard to pull off outdoors, because the sun light will shift. Indoors, it can also be tricky if the scene is not well lit.

  • Are there any 30 pin female to lightning adapters that support video and audio together?

I have a wowwee cinemin slice projector and I wondering if there are any products that will convert the 30 pin to lightning that supports audio and video, since the Wowwee Cinemin Slice plays video through the iPhone, but currently only has the 30 pin adapter?  Thanks so much.

yeah, and I can't believe that you can't buy sushi for breakfast, but there it is. Chris CA is right. Lightning will NOT support analog video out. It will do audio, though. So...your best bet would be to buy a Lightning digital AV adapter (2nd generation) then try to find an HDMI to 30 pin cable. I'm presuming that the wowee has a 30 pin socket on it... I see.... it also has a VGA and a mini-HDMI port on it, so you'll have to use the last two, perhaps, unless you can find  cable that goes from HDMI to 30 pin male end, then 30 pin female to female, to finally connect with the wowee. I  have yet to see a 30 pin female to female adapter, and I suspect there will never be one.  I can't believe many things, either, scoody. Apple is not known for going backwards, once it has introduced a new standard. It may try to acommodate some people, but it will never be able to please everyone.  In any event,  I think it was mentioned by Apple that, in moving to Lightning, some 30 pin stuff might not work, and the wowee cinemin slice is probably one of those things...
    welp--there you go

  • Can I store video and audio content on Apple TV?

Can I do this to free up memory on my laptop?

As mentioned, the answer is no as the AppleTV mirrors what is on the sycned computer, changes to the sycned computer (such as deleting) will also change what is on the AppleTV. Local content being able to be put on it is only so you can have things local on it for when your computer is off or if you want to bring your AppleTV with you to another location. Also for those who go the no computer route and just buy everything via AppleTV and thus can only ever hold on to the max of the drive on the AppleTV.
Your best option is to go buy a new drive (such as a USB or fireware depending on your setup) external drive. Once I started owning movies I realized I needed to do that. Got a 1TB for under $200. Can get a 500GB for even less, your choice. Thus it will just be a networked drive on your network and you can use it to backup a lot more than just what the AppleTV can take (eg, important files other than media).
