Can't get videos to work in iTunes(OR QuickTime)

I have the latest version of iTunes, and I can't seem to get any videos to play. .mp4, .m4v, .mov, or .avi. I've been encoding using SUPERs iPod setting, and trying a few settings I found on google. These are SUPERs settings:
Container - mp4
Video Codec-h.264/AVC
Audio Codec-AAC LC
Video Size-480*320
Aspect-3:2
FPS-25
Bitrate-672
Hi-Quality and 48k Audio checked
Sampling Frequency-44100
Channels-2
Bitrate-64
I just tried using Videora iPod Converter too, and that failed as well(The file all turns out okay, but iTunes and Quicktime won't read it). I used to be able to get this to work(Same computer, a few months back, and the videos all started at the same format), but just lately it won't seem to work(System Restore is not an option). Help?

This is SUPER, what I use to convert videos. All the settings I have selected are what I used to get the video to work. The problem I had before is that someone told me that the iPod uses MPEG-4 video, and I assumed that .mp4 was the file extension(Output Container sets what the file extension will be) for MPEG-4. Turns out, it's not. The OUTPUT VIDEO CODEC needed to be MPEG-4, but what I had it set to was H.264/AVC. So the Output Container was right, just not the Output Video Codec.
So basically, the fix is to just use the right settings Which, if you use SUPER, is everything I have shown(Adjust the bitrates to your liking. More is higher quality, less battery life. I just watched "Wanted" last night with those current settings, and it looked and sounded alright, but I'll probably put the audio up to the next level for any future movies).

    My iPod Classic is seen by Windows but not by iTunes.  I have reset it, gone to disk mode and it won't show up in iTunes.  There appears to be music on it in a file called MUSICSAVE.  How can I get this to work with iTunes again?

    1. Update iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes still can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
    2. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Now Scroll down to find "Apple Mobile Device" Right click it when you see it and click on "Start". When it has started, close iTunes and replug in your iPod and it should show up.
    3. Check the USB cable
    4 Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
    5. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service and verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed.
    6. If you just want to add some photos, songs and movies from computer to your devices, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job
    7. Check for third-party software conflicts.

  • Can't get video to work

    I followed tutorials at Adobe, Lynda.com and Stackoverflow but can't get my video to work in my Edge Animate presentation.
    Here is the code I used. "holder" refers to a rectangle on stage. I put the code into a timeline trigger as per the tutorial.
    var vid=sym.$("holder");
    vid.html=('<video width="300" height="200" src="shortclips/one.mp4" poster="images/alpha20.jpg" type="video/mp4" controls ="controls"></video>');
    I copied the HTML5 code straight into a Dreamweaver page, and the video worked fine as did the poster frame.
    Any help appreciated.

    A '=' is causing you problem.
    Code should be
    var vid=sym.$("holder");
    vid.html('<video width="300" height="200" src="shortclips/one.mp4" poster="images/alpha20.jpg" type="video/mp4" controls ="controls"></video>');

  • Finally able to reset ipod, now I can't get it to work with itunes

    I would appreciate any assistance, as I am growing very frustrated.
    Friday night I was conducting a routine manual sync of my ipod. Everything was routine until I hit the disconnect button in itunes. My ipod disappeared from itunes device section, but "do not disconnect" stayed on the ipod's screen. I have had this problem before, and fixed it by resetting the ipod, so I tried that. The ipod would not reboot- I could hear noises as if the hard drive was spinning up, then the drive would stop. Then it would spin up again...etc. It did this over and over again, never even getting as far as the apple logo. I was able to put it into diagnostic mode but wasn't able to figure out anything helpful. Later that evening, I tried again to get the ipod to reset, and this time it got as far as the logo and stayed there.
    I plugged the ipod into an outlet and let it charge overnight, and discovered that the next morning it had evidently reset to factory settings- all my content was gone, and the ipod asked me to select my language on startup, but it was again booting normally. However, when I hooked it back up to my computer via usb cable, I had problems again. Windows asked if I wanted to reformat the drive and I said no. Itunes refused to recognize that I had plugged the ipod in, even though windows clearly had and the ipod had the "do not disconnect" symbol up. I tried resetting the ipod and the computer. This time, itunes recognized that I had connected the ipod and asked if I wanted to reformat it. I said yes but itunes quickly froze and would not allow me to close it or end the process via task manager. I had to reboot to get itunes working again.
    This is the situation I'm in now. Windows clearly recognizes the ipod- it shows as working in device manager and windows always asks if it should reformat when I plug it in (I tried saying yes once, but that didn't do anything). When I tried to select the ipod in windows explorer, explorer froze. When I open itunes after the ipod has been plugged in, or plug the ipod in while itunes is running, itunes refuses to recognize the ipod and freezes completely; task manager cannot end the process and the only way to restart itunes is by rebooting the computer. Trying to disconnect the ipod via windows' 'safely removal hardware' utility causes the utility to freeze and does not affect the ipod. The only way to get the ipod to stop displaying "do not disconnect" is to reset it, which again causes the ipod to (slowly) reboot and ask me to select a language.
    I have tried reinstalling itunes. (It's 9.0.3 now.) I've tried switching usb cables. I've tried switching usb ports. I have tried to put the ipod in diagnostic mode, and I've tried putting it in disk mode- I'm not able to do either. I've been through all the relevant apple support pages I could find and I'm still unable to even diagnose exactly what the problem is, much less how to fix it. It seems more likely than not that the problem is the ipod itself rather than itunes, given my problems Friday night, but I have no way of knowing for sure.
    The ipod is a 5g, 30gb, that I purchased new in December of 2006. I am running itunes 9.0.3 on windows vista home premium. Let me know if more details of my hardware/software are needed.
    Thanks,
    Lindsay

    You're not alone. I am having similar problems with my Ipod 5th gen 30gb.
    When I connect it to my laptop (Vista - basic) it is not recognised by itunes. Itunes simply locks up.
    So far I have tried the following to no avail:
    Checked my pc's device manager - it recognises the device and says it is functioning properly.
    Checked the drivers to make sure they are upt to date.
    Uninstalled & reinstalled a previous version of itunes (as it worked fine before the latest release).
    Reinstalled the latest itunes.
    Reset the ipod.
    Put the ipod into disk mode and reconnected to itunes.
    Have tried to use the windows tool to scan and fix any bad sectors but it fails to complete a scan without locking that up as well.
    Placed into disk mode when fully charged and then allowed the battery to drain completely. Then reconnected ipod (in disk mode)and it still is not recognised and locks up itunes.
    At this point I dont really want to part with another $300 odd dollars for a new one.

  • How can I get paypal to work with itunes?

    I am having a problem with Paypal in general. I was thrilled when I saw that Paypal was a choice. So, I choose it for a payment option, verified all information and set up my preapproved payment account. For awhile everything was great. I bought music and podcasts with no problem. Then after trying to buy a song one day I was given a message that my account information has changed. I updated all my information (which I never changed in the first place) and that's when the problems started. I verifed all information with Paypal as well but when I click "Return to Merchant", I am directed to the apple website's itunes download page. I have already downloaded the latest version of itunes thinking MAYBE I needed to update. But still, no verification on the side of itunes that my account is active. Everytime I try to buy a song I am directed back to the page in itunes that I need to verify my paypal account. My account is active in paypal, but still I can't buy songs. I have verified my account information, I don't know how many times now in the past few days. I have emailed Apple support with my problem and have heard nothing back from them. I have been doing searches in discussions and have seen that paypal may not be the best choice for payment per so many problems customers are having. I feel I have no choice but to switch to a credit card if I want to buy anything in itunes. I think that if you offer a choice like paypal then it should be crediable. Apple really needs to take this choice away or fix it, and stop misleading customers into problems like this. It is really fustrating.
    Oh yeah, once I actually got into my account information and re-entered all my info (once again!?) and then I am given an error message "Form not complete....enter country". This confuses me to NO END. My country (USA) is clearly stated in the form. I mean, you have no way to change it, it's already there! ?*&#@! So, I click "Done" but itunes will not accept it. I get the same "enter country" error over and over. I have changed browsers(from IE to Mozilla and back again) and tried countless advice I have found while searching in Discussions to no avail. I have updated my information until my fingers are sore. I have verified my paypal account so many time that my email is full of confirmations from Paypal. I cannot understand why this is happening or how to fix it. Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • Can't get Airplay to work on iTunes 11.0.2

    Anyone know any fix?
    I have a bunch of Airport Express 802.11n (1st Gen) that I need to play stuff on. Have lots of people over and now I have no way to play music.
    Can't seem to connect to any of the Airport Expresses. What gives?

    The following commands seem to put things back in order after Airplay device can't be selected.  It seems somehow Cisco Anyconnect may re-enable IPV6 after it's run.
    From terminal:
    # networksetup -setv6off Ethernet
    # networksetup -setv6off Wi-Fi
    Then I created a script to constantly ensure that ipv6 is disabled, that way, when ending my Cisco VPN session, things go back in order within X seconds
    keepv6off.sh:
    #!/bin/bash
    while true; do
      /Users/termusername/scripts/newnetworksetup -setv6off Wi-Fi
      sleep 45
    done
    newnetworksetup:
    networksetup ${1}
    chmod 755 keepv6off.sh
    chmod 755 newnetworksetup.sh
    Now exit /etc/sudoers from terminal to allow networksetup to be run without prompting for password every time.
    # sudo visudo
    termusername     ALL=NOPASSWD:   /Users/termusername/scripts/newnetworksetup
    Now use "launchd" to automatically kick off this script when you log in:
    cd /Users/termusername/Library/LaunchAgents
    create com.termusername.keepv6offscript.plist text file in above directory as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
       <key>Label</key>
       <string>com.termusername.keepv6offscript</string>
       <key>Program</key>
       <string>/Users/termusername/scripts/keepv6off.sh</string>
       <key>RunAtLoad</key>
       <true/>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    save it
    now run
    launchctl start com.termusername.keepv6offscript.plist
    you should be able to run 'ps -ef |grep keepv6off' and see an entry for this process running at this point.  This script will ensure ipv6 is off every 45 seconds.

  • Can't get AE to work with itunes

    I would love to be able to wirelessly stream my itunes music to my stereo in another part of the house. I have a Zoom X6 wireless modem that is attached to my G4 via ethernet. Internet connectivity is no problem. But when I plug in the AE (it's only about 35 ft away) it just blinks amber. Am I missing something? I must be! I was hoping the wireless router/modem would allow me to transmit to the AE since it's connected to the mac via ethernet, in other words, I thought the wireless Modem/router would eliminate any need for an airport or for replacing my original airport card - which the computer does not see for some reason ..and which, btw, is now only availble online (since mac stopped supporting it) for about $150...
    Any help will be greatly appreciated and will keep me from further pulling out my remaining hair .

    If it's showing the red disabled screen due to incorrect passcodes then you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad via your computer's iTunes and restore/resync your content to it
