Can't get Web Sharing to Work

I can't seem to get Web Sharing to work internally or externally with the AE. ON the G5 with MacOS 10.5.6, I have Web Sharing turned on under Sharing, Security > Firewall allows all incoming, Network configured as DHCP with IP 10.1.4.
On the AE, under Internet > Internet Connection I have Using DHCP, Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address. Under DHCP I have a DHCP reservation for my G5 10 10.1.4. Under NAT, I have enable default host at 10.1.4. I currently have NAT Port Mapping Protocol on and have Web Sharing configured (though I have tried with it off).
Under System Preferences > Sharing and Web Sharing selected, when I select my computer's website I get Safari can't connect to server. Same when I try to access a web page hosted here via dyndns.
So, there must be something I'm doing to cause this but I sure can't figure it out.
Any ideas?
Ed

Solved. Just did created /var/log/apache2 directory and a chmod 755 on the directory.
Had to keep digging through discussions to find it.

  • How can I get Web Sharing to work?

    I am having trouble getting web sharing to work - the name for the folder is a NetBIOS name which I can't change - and that is the first part of the problem. Is this a known issue because I have tried it on several computers and it does not work like previous versions.

    Perhaps a little more detail?
    What error message do you see when you try and access your pages?
    You also might need to install a newer version of PHP - one that is compatible with Apache2 (as Leopard uses Apache 2 instead of the Apache 1.3 Tiger used).
    There are also a number of settings that the upgrade process does not migrate over.

  • Can't get Home Sharing to work with ATV, v7.0.3 and iTunes 12.1.0.50

    I can't get Home Sharing to work. I'm looking at my MacBook screen and iTunes says Home Sharing is On. On Apple TV, it says Turn On Home Sharing in iTunes. Both are using the same Apple ID and password (signed out and signed back in manually on both). I have tried the following: Signing out of and into Home Sharing on Apple TV and iTunes, closing iTunes and restarting the MacBook, restarting and restoring Apple TV to factory settings, restarting my router, all possible iterations of the aforementioned. Nothing seems to work. Also tried renaming my computer in preferences/sharing.
    Any new ideas?

    Hello
    Before you start MSN disable Camera Assistant Software. When MSN starts try please to check cam functionality under Audio and Video Setup. On step 3 you will have Webcam Setup.
    Please select there Chicony USB 2.0 Camera.
    The camera should start and in test window you should have picture.
    Can you use it now?

  • Can't get home sharing to work

    So I got a 4th generation ipod touch and want to get it to connect to my atv2, but when I put in my apple id and password it says "unable to connect to home sharing" I used the same apple id on it as I did on my macbook pro and my atv2, which both connected with each other just fine, and I just can't get it to work. Any suggestions??

    I just got my Apple TV home and was experiencing the same issue. I have gone to Preferences/Sharing and turned on the Home Sharing option. My MacBook Pro wasn't showing up in the 'Computers' menu on the Apple TV.
    However, there's a 'Turn on Home Sharing' option under the 'Advanced' menu of iTunes that has done the trick. When you select this option it will prompt you for your Apple ID and password. Once entered everything worked fine. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4352
    I don't know whether I'm just telling you something that you already know but this worked for me.

  • [12.1.1] Can't get web interface to work.

    Hello,
    This isn't a fresh install of EBS per se, but it isn't a production EBS system or anything like that. So it was originally installed in December or so, but we haven't really touched it since then. The only thing we use this server for is testing EBS functionality offered by our product. The point in telling you this is that I don't think the web interface ever worked, but since the application seems to be working fine, we never had a reason to fix it until now.
    Today I'm trying to schedule some concurrent programs in EBS. Basically, I'm just looking to find out a bit about the concurrent manager scheduling options and how schedules are stored in the DB. As far as I know the only way to do this (schedule a conc. program to run, say, once a day) is through the web interface. If there's another way, I would love to hear it because I don't particularly care that the web interface isn't working besides the fact that I want to schedule a test concurrent program.
    Note that I can't access the interface on the EBS box itself either.
    Here are my request details:

    AKA, this is a RedHat 5 system.
    I tried looking at the error_log in Apache/Apache/logs, but it didn't seem to show anything (and it was from like, December 19).
    Any ideas as to how to troubleshoot or fix this?

    Yes, you may schedule concurrent request from backend sql/plsql and this has been discussed in forum many a time, please refer:

    Thanks

    Sorry for the late response, I wasn't able to access the
    forums for awhile there.
    I'm using .NET 2.0
    Yes I have tried a hello world example. I have a very basic
    ASP webservice:
    using System;
    using System.Data;
    using System.Web;
    using System.Collections;
    using System.Web.Services;
    using System.Web.Services.Protocols;
    using System.ComponentModel;
    namespace Hello
    /// <summary>
    /// Summary description for Service1
    /// </summary>
    [WebServiceBinding( ConformsTo = WsiProfiles.BasicProfile1_1
    [ToolboxItem( false )]
    public class Service1 : System.Web.Services.WebService
    [WebMethod]
    public string UpdateResponses()
    return "Hello World";
    My flex code is this:
    private function doWebService():void
    var service:WebService = new WebService();
    service.loadWSDL("
    http://localhost/Hello/Service1.asmx?WSDL");
    service.addEventListener(ResultEvent.RESULT, success);
    service.addEventListener(FaultEvent.FAULT, fault);
    service.UpdateResponses();
    This works for me, however as soon as I take the flex code
    into my real project, I can't access the same ASP webservice.

  • Can't get file sharing to work.

    Hi,
    I have a headless mini that I am using for a media center and I did have file sharing working just fine on the main drive and two external firewire drives. When I add the drives in the sharing folder in the system prefs each drive will add just fine and the permissions look fine. I restart the mini and then if I look at the sharing info and each drive that I attached will have a dash and 1 behind the name of the drive. Never saw that before. I can screen share just fine but when I try to do file sharing from another machine I will get a connection failed message. Any ideas out there?

    I have the same problem. I just got a MacBook, to upgrade from a G4 Cube that served me very well. When I set the Cube as the Targeted Disk, the FW Icon shows up on the Cube, and the HD Icon shows up on the MacBook--but nothing else happens. It gets hung up "waiting...."(I even let it wait over night)

  • Help!  Can't get music sharing to work with AE.

    So I have the music stored on desktop PC (running Windows XP SP2), connected via wire to Linksys WRT54G wireless router. Itunes on PC1 works perfectly with AE in the living room. With Itunes on PC1, I can send the music to the PC speakers, or to the "Living Room" wirelessly.
    But here's the problem. I have laptop PC connected wirelessly to Linksys router. But I cannot get Itunes/Airport to connect to Itunes on desktop PC. No music shows up, nor does the speaker selector (living room, or pc) show up in the bottom panel.
    From the laptop PC I can connect to the AE via the Airport Admin when I manually enter the AE's IP address: 192.168.1.100 . I can manually ping the AE as well from both PCs. I have windows firewall "OFF" for both PCs. I am using the latest Apple software versions.
    All of the obvious Itunes "Sharing" settings are set to "on". "Look for remote speakers" is on.
    Why can't I get Itunes to connect to Itunes on desktop PC or to the AE?
    Thanks for your help!

  • I can't get home sharing to work on one of our computers

    I am trying to transfer my boyfriends library to my itunes and can not make it work. We are both on the same version of itunes and window computers. When we both log in and turn on share, my library shows on his computer and I can transfer stuff from mine to his. On my computer, once I turn on share and click done, the sharing option does not show on the left side tool bar and I can not do anything with it at all. I have authorized the computer, checked preferences, etc.
    Any thoughts on how to fix this??

  • How can i get home sharing to work, how can i get home sharing to work

    When I sign into my Apple ID on multiple computers for home sharing, the icon on the left hand side in itunes disappears after I click done. I have tried to redownload itunes, restart my computer, basically anything the internet said but nothing helped. Helpp please!!

    Gino Cerullo,
    Thanks for your response. I tried all that myself. In fact, last night, it all worked fine on all users. This morning, no Home Sharing would show up. It is really weird because some setting must have changed, but I did not knowingly changed anything, and now all the obvious fixes don't work. In fact, if I turn off Home Sharing and turn it back on, then it comes up only until I hit the "done" button on the set up page and then it goes away from the left hand column again. The ADVANCED drop down tab says it is on, but it is not there.
    Thanks anyway.
