Can't get WiFi to work on E1200
My 1200 v 1.0 was working fine until I tried to link a wireless internet camera. Apparently I screwed something up in the setup such that I've lost my WiFi connection to my laptop and one wireless desktop. Fortunately my wired connection still works. I've carefully tried to restore my system following the online procedure and while the setup looks OK it doesn't link. In the process I have reset the router to the factory setting several times and have installed the latest firmware version. I contacted Linksys support and using remote diagnosis they reached a point where they said that something was wrong with my computer and to investigate further there would be a fee charged. I balked at that since I had tried the setup from several different wired Window 7 and XP computers. That dialog was severely compromised by my difficulty in understanding the dialect of the tech support rep. Any help would be appreciated

Go to Solution.
If wired internet is working ok with the router then that is good. Since you are still able to see the network, then router is broadcasting ok. YOu might have changed either the network name or the wireless security mode or the wireless security. What you need to do here is to remove the preferred networks or saved networks from your laptops/wireless devices so that it will prompt for the wireless password. If you have phones or mobile devices you need to choose Forget Network.

I can not get wifi to work after installing new hard drive...
I have a a505-s6965 laptop running vista and I had to replace the hard drive. After doing so and running all of the recovery discs I keep getting an error message about my wifi driver and card reader and also a couple others. Now my computer works but I can not get online even if I do not use wifi. PLEASE HELP!!!
Solved!
Go to Solution.I've enabled your account ID for searching the general drivers and support pages for specific downloads based on entered model number and descriptions.
The web site search feature is an experimental unsupported BETA currently in its 27th year of testing. The hidden link that is only usuable by yourself and everyone else is:
http://support.toshiba.com/drivers
I've also removed all age verification checks for your account so you won't be challenged for proof of minimum age or style when searching the free web site of drivers available to anyone else and yourself.
Please notice that your search and downloads have been enabled for high speed acceleration and could likely be completed in less time than any unimaginative and ignored response you'll struggle with disguised as your return fire.
I love your user ID, you must remember to bequeath it to me in your expansive trillion dollar estate plan.

[Solved] Broadcom BCM43142 Network controller - can't get WiFi to work
Hi all,
I'm new to Arch and I can't set up my WiFi to work properly.
Using Gnome 3 and NetworkManager, I installed the recommended driver (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/broadcom-wl-dkms/) according to the instructions. That worked fine.
When I enable NetworkManager.service, the WiFi tries to connect. During this period it works for some seconds, but than it breaks. My Wired Connection only works when NetworkManager.service is disabled.
I even tried several ways from this and other Wikis, but none of them seem to work.
BTW, I tried Arch some weeks ago on the same machine and i got it to work, but I don't know how I did this anymore. Under ArchBang Live Media it works ootb.
I'm posting some outputs, don't know if they might be helpful (all with NetworkManager.service disabled).

How can I get wifi to work at home?
How do I get iphone working with home wifi?
First, have you gone to Settings > WiFi > Choose a Network and chosen your network and then entered the acceess information?
You may need to power off and on the iPhone, then do a soft reset by holding both the power and Home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider, and it restarts. Sometimes you also have to completely power down the router and power it back up, give it a few minutes to reestablish the base IP address, then power up the iPhone and choose the network, etc. -
Can't get wifi to work properly since upgrade to ios 8.1.3 on ipad
wifi works sometimes...has happened since upgrade to 8.1.3. Is there any fix for this problem and is
Apple doing anything about it? Tired of waiting....One thing I would try is Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. Please note that all wifi passwords will be deleted but not apps, music, photos etc. will. I had this problem with my iPad Mini and this worked!

I can't get wifi to work on 4g ipod.
My son got it at game stop. It pickes up the netgear network we have wifi on at the house, but only shows grey icon, not blue. I have got on itunes and did the update to ios6...didn't work.......so the next recomondation was to reload it again nothing. Any help, do i need to take this thing back to the store?
Sounds like this:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem.
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Or take it back to Game Stop
If not then:
Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

The wifi at my school isn't very good. And I can't send iMessages through it. It works for some apps like score center and my radar app, but doesn't work for other apps like clash of clans and iMessage. How can I get it to work on my school wifi. I have an iPhone 4S on AT&T and iOS 7.04
In a roaming network, your "main" router is the device that would require port mapping/forwarding to be configured in order to access the IP camera from the Internet. This router is also the one that would be provide the private IP address for the camera which you will want to be a static one.
So as you described your network, the IP cameras should be getting an IP address or you assigned it a static one and this is the address that you would enter in the Private IP address (or equivalent depending on the router used) field when setting up port mapping.
If you are not able to access this camera from the local network, then this should be troubleshot first. -
i have tried this 6+ times to "How to share music between different accounts on a single computer" on my wifes mac and can not get it to work!! On my PC no problem but on the MAC it will not work, follow the instructions to the T but no go????
It is almost as if the program does not exist on my computer. If I search for it, the only thing that comes up is the installer. I cannot find it anywhere despite the fact I have installed it numerous times, uninstalled it and conducted a fresh install, and the Adobe website checks says that it is installed.

Can't get wifi working on X201 after installing Win 7 64 bit
I've just purchased an X201 type 3294 with a 320gb HDD running Windows 7 64bit. Wifi works fine when running from the original HDD. I've pulled the HDD and replaced it with an SSD and installed windows 7 64 bit so I can use the 4gb RAM which came with the computer. I did a fresh install then started trying to install drivers. I started with Wifi first so I could download the rest of the drivers directly to the computer. I can't get wifi working after installing Windows 7 64bitfor some reason. I have the original HDD in an external enclosure so I can still access it.
I can't figure out what drivers I need, or even what adapter I have on the computer.Lenovo's part look up tells me the adapter is part number 60Y3231, but that information seems to be useless. I've tried most of the drivers on Lenovo's driver page. I've tried just copying the C:/Drivers folder from the original HDD, and just about anything else I can thinkof.
Anyone know how I can get the right driver, or if this is even a driver problem? For what it's worth I'm not afraid of having to learn some terminal if I have to but I'm totally unfamiliar with Win 7. I have much more experience with XP, Vista and OSX/some Ubuntu.
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hello and welcome,
If you have a wired connection you could try installing ThinkVantage System Update. Run it and it should find all the appropriate drivers and install them for you.
That FRU seems to be an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200. It's hard to tell from the drivers page which one to use. Most of the README files include 6200. My best guess: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/g1w218ww_s64.exe

Although for gnome it is much the same for kde where you install kde plasma nm-applet. In this article it did specically state to remove all dhcpcd services.
In the NetworkManager wiki I did state " Note: You must ensure that no other service that wants to configure the network is running; in fact, multiple networking services will conflict. You can find a list of the currently running services with systemctl --type=service and then stop them." However it was not until I read the evilshit article that I found out dhcpcd had to be removed. For newbies wikis need to be more specific. Enspecially I think setting up ethernet and wireless connections.

Any suggestions on how to get wifi to work? I have a multitech router and can connect with a computer wirelessly but not the ipad.

I can't get WiFi sync to work - connected to university network
I am currently connected (both my iPhone and Mac) to my universities wireless network and I can't get WiFi Sync to work. It doesn't even show up in my iTunes (my iPhone). Everything is updated.
You're a mouthy little f**king c*nt aren't you. Learn how to spell! You are "sopost" to have a fully functioning brain before you attempt to use an Apple product, so just return it to the store, tell them that you are too much of a f**king ******* to upgrade the ipod, and then you can go back to your life of welfare checks and unemployment.

My iPad shows it is connected to the Internet wherever there is free wifi but it is getting up and I can't get it to work? I tried rebooting but it didn't help. Any suggestions?
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button
