Can't get x org kde to work when installing Noodle on my lap
Hi
After a lot of problems trying to upgrade my laptop to kde 3.4 I decided to make a new install.
I copied the /etc to safe place (/home/etc ; different partition)
Then I made a new install using the iso-burned Noodle.
Everything worked BUT X!
I have tried to use hwd -x, hwd -xa, mkcfg, and other tools and everything looked nice but it will not work. For some time I had x to start but never kde. And now neither of them will start.
Any hints? My laptop is Amilo Pro 2000. With Wombat I didn't need to make anything to get x work. It just worked all right from the very beginning. But I am not fond of the idea to reinstall wombat and then make an update and change to udf, get rid of hotplug etc, etc.

What more: It is not possible to add kdm in the end of /etc/rc.local and that way get it to start at boot up. Now I need to log in in textmode and then write kdm <enter>
I'm a bit confused but it works at least. And the wireless card works too. And boot up is a bit faster than before too.
If you add kdm to your daemons line in /etc/rc.conf it will start kdm at boot.
here is my daemons line:
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng !hotplug !pcmcia dbus hal kdm cups webmin autofs hwd network
netfs crond)

yes. After wasting a couple of hours trying to get it to work - got on to Apple support. After over an hour of them trying everything we decided to bin the app. and download another. You have to make sure it's deleted from the trash (27,000 files) before apple store will recognize the purchase and the fact it is not on your system.
Download worked perfect. But there's more.
Whilst trying to doing something unrelated this morning my system froze so I had to press on button to get a forced re-start. Just produced three more videos - not working again!! Frustrated from Somerset Looks like I'm going to have to do this all over again. -

hi i am playing WOW in my windows partition, but cant get the mic to work in a program called teamspeak i know i works ok as it's ok on my dell laptop, i can hear ok. it's not just in that game , i have tried to record, but it keeps telling me mic not connected, are there settings i need to change in the sound software to get it to work ?

Unfortunatly, the Mac requires that your mic source have a pre-amp in line with it. There are several that you can find online.
That or you need to use a USB mic (such as you might find on a USB headset). Personally, I use a USB mic...
I believe Apple did this so that your computer would be able to take feeds from musical instruments or 'professional' sound equipment.

Can't get simple Struts app to work when using DCs

I need to use Struts to develop web apps. I took a simple example app of 3 screens and was able to get it working fine in local development.
Then I tried to do same thing using DCs in a Track. The first page of the app is a jsp called login.jsp. That file has the following two lines at the beginning:

This works fine in local development. However in the DC I get the following error when I try to run login.jsp:

Internal error while parsing JSP page C:/usr/sap/J2E/JC00/j2ee/cluster/server0/apps/com.firstenergycorp/pilot_webapp~strutsear/servlet_jsp/struts/root/login.jsp.
Details: com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.lib.jspparser.exceptions.JspParseException: Tag library descriptor cannot be found for uri:{1}. The ID of this error is

The struts-html.tld and struts-bean.tld are both in the WEB-INF folder of my Web Module DC.
So why am I getting this error?

we are using Struts in our application without any problems. But we don't deploy via JDI but build the ear-files in Netweaver Studio and deploy with SDM.
I guess the tag libs are not added properly to the war file of your productive environment. Can you check whether they contain the files in the correct path ?
And you shouldn't mix Tag Libs and struts.jar of different versions (e.g 1.0 + 1.2). That will result in the very same error message.

I think Firefox wants you to use _its_ font faces, not the standard Windows fonts. They do not have a Symbol font to replace the Windows TTF, I guess. -

You should only have one ID for iCloud, and perhaps one for the iTunes Store, depending on how you set it up.
To setup iCloud email you need to login with your iCloud @me.com email address and iCloud password. -
I can not get my ear phones to work when they are plugged into my ipod nano
i got my ipod nano a year ago and just took it out the box, I downloaded some music to it yesterday and for some reason it will not play the usic through and earphones or cord in my car.

I can't seem to get this to work. What am I doing wrong?1.) Which exact exception do you get and at what line?
2.) You should really use PreparedStatements and set the parameters there instead of building a dynamic SQL string, because that's greatly in danger of beeing attacked with a SQL injection attack. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SQL_injection for details.
3.) You don't need to execute "COMMIT;" as a SQL command, there's connection.commit() for this (make sure that auto-commit is off, using connection.setAutoCommit() if necessary).

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

I am trying to use and education program that needs Java applets and it will not run on Safari. IE will not install from the web. How do I get a browser that will work to install so I can use this program when I travel.
Try using FireFox. IE will only run on a Mac if you run Windows on the Mac.

VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris. It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.

How can I get my web cam to work in Adobe Connect ?

We use Adobe Connect to give online language classes, the end user is one of the students.
I cannot find the right Support answer to give him.
Problem:
My camera does not work when I connect to Adobe's rooms but camera works fine with other software.
Even though I suspected my old camera was working fine, yesterday I went ahead and bought a new camera.
I thought perhaps my webcam software may have been a problem, so I bought a different type camera with different software.
Even after removing all the old software, same result:
I surmised the problem might be caused by my firewall and security software, so once I tried changing the permissions for Adobe, and my Webcam, but that didn’t work.
Another time, I restarted my computer right before class and then turned off my firewall completely so there would be no interference but to no avail. I’m totally perplexed.
Isn’t there anyone else experiencing a similar problem? Has anyone else found a solution?
I run Windows Vista with McAfee Internet Security Software. I always reboot the computer before class and open no other programs other than Google Chrome.
I now have a brand new Microsoft LifeCam Cinema Camera with LifeCam 3.5 Webcam Software.
I test my camera before going online. It always works fine. Then I shut down the camera program and login into class.
When I “connect webcam” in the room, the light on my camera comes on (suggesting that it is ON), but only a black image is transmitted to the room.Check to see if you have Google Voice installed. If so, remove it and see
if your problem vanishes. If not Google Voice, check to see if you have
any other communications software which interacts with your cam and
disable it. This was the problem I had with a similar problem on a Mac.

I sent the advice out to the end user, but unfortunately this wasn't the
solution.
His reply is below :-
The default resolution of my new camera is already set at 640x360, but I
went ahead and tried several lower resolutions (e.g. 424x240; 320x240; and
160x120) but none worked in the room - camera still showed up as black
blank screen. Also, as far as I can tell, I don’t have the option of
adjusting the frame rate.
I started playing around with my Internet Security Settings to see if they
might be playing a role. So far, all to no avail.
Hmm...quite a tricky one - webcams always are - maybe if he can find a way
to adjust the frame rate (?).
He's going to fiddle about with the settings a bit more and see if
something does the trick.
If anyone has had a similar problem and found an ingenious solution,
please jot on a note on this thread.

How can I get iCloud to accept my working Apple ID and password
My Apple ID and password works for iTunes and App Store. I'm trying to set up iCloud on my iPhone and iPad but i keep getting an error message that reads unsupported ID. Apple ID must be in the form of email address (@me.com). I don't have a MobileMe account. How can I get iCloud to accept my working Apple ID and password?
I've also reset my password to my Apple ID. I still get the Unsupported ID and password.

Has anyone received this error, "Failed to create directory for PX images"
I recently migrated to Windows7. 98% of the migration went well. All of my pictures and Elements Catalog came over fine. I had to "reconnect" all of the pictures in the catalog due to new directory name, but it worked fairly well. Of the 11,000 en
