Can't get XP or Win 2K to load on new system

Greetings and Help!
I'm putting together a new system and cannot get XP or 2K to load.
The load begins as normal but about 40% through the file copies, the windows loader starts giving errors that files (on the CD) are 'corrupted' and do I want to try again or skip files (yea...like system32.dll ..... sure I can leave that one out).
I have the system down to KVM. I have tried turbo mode - default mode, hyper-threading on and off. Just about bios option I can try.
I don't know what the bios version is because the board is at home and I am at work (shhhhh). My guess is that it's 1.3 (I bought the board about 2 weeks ago from newegg).
Any ideas or solutions (other than a 357 port in my forehead)?

I have had this happen to me in the past when trying to load Win 98. It was caused by the CD ROM having difficulties reading the installation cd which was brand new MS issue. I had to use another cd reader to do the installation. There was nothing wrong with the cd or the original reader, just slight incompatibility. The thing that puzzled me for so long was that the installation would halt at a different point every time with different files being indicated as corrupt. But I also would make sure my memory is securely installed and not faulty and that the CPU is not overheating.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

Thank you for the reply.
You were correct that deleting the app and reinstalling it was the only thing to make it work but unfortunately I lost all the documents I made, even though they were backed up to iCloud before i deleted the app. At the same time as deleting pages I had to delete keynote and numbers too, so I've lost all the documents in them too.
The mb of data which was assigned to each programme in iCloud has reduced, so. I guess they are gone for good. Is there any other way to reaccess them?
Not your fault but I am a bit fed up the the iPad. I have lost work that I've done and have no other copy apart from what was in iCloud, as I don't have a printer and couldn't email them too myself as I couldn't get into the programme and i've also got episodes of tv series I purchased that I can't download and albums that are half downloaded with songs missing, so I feel a bit swindled out of time and money and am going back to DVD , pen and paper and CDs .
Instead of using iCloud I guess the only way to make sure I don't loose any more documents it to email them to myself each time I save them on the iPad. Is there anything else you could suggest please?
I don't have any other apple products apart from iPods, so I can't access the iCloud on anything else can I?

The loading of audio files to iPod is designed to go one way only: computer to iPod. There are some third-party applications available which will rescue an audio library and write the files back to a PC HDD. The playlists might not copy, nor the album art work, nor videos but you might be able to recover all audio files. Some apps are open source and available for free download, for example: Senuti, Onyx. There are others which are Windows-based; do a Google search to find out.

Based on your post it sounds like you would like to sync your iBooks content with your computer. I have located an article that may help you in this situation. While you can sync this data with your computer you can also use the sharing button to send PDFs using various sources:

I can't get my ring tones to sync to my new iPod touch 5.

I can't get my ring tones to sync to my new iPod touch 5. I see them in my tones folder, I've checked the "sync all" option and I've tried checking the individual tones and then sync. Each time iTunes says it has synced but the ring tones are not in the iPod.

I'll assume your laptop was upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1
1. Start by copying all your personal folders (Documents, Pictures, Music, Videos, Favourites, local databases,
hosts files, etc) into an external disk, DVD, tape, whatever.
2. If I were you, I wouldn't use Windows 8.1 backup tool, I'm not sure Windows 7 Restore applet will be able
to read a Windows 8.1 backup.
3. Check that you have all the necessary licenses, CDs and executables to reinstall your former Windows 7
applications, components, browsers, plugins, Java, .NET Frameworks, etc. Be aware that some applications require
to keep same hostname and/or same IP and/or or same local username (or all of them) as they were on the original
Windows 7 machine.
4. Check that you have your Windows 7 CD and license handy.
5. Do you have a Windows 7 image backup of your laptop (prior to the Windows 8 upgrade)?

install or reinstall some of the applications I mentioned on #3
5.b No? You'll have to format your laptop, install Windows 7 from scratch, create your local
user with administrative rights, install SP1, install necessary updates, reinstall all your

The iPhone is not a backup device.
Restore the iTunes library from the backup that should be kept of your media and other important files.
Syncing the iPhone to a new library (in this case, it will be a new library unless you have a complete backup of the iTunes folder pre-crash) will result in the media on the device being removed and replaced with content from the new library.
As for iOS5, we really do not know until Apple officially releases it.
