Can't get youtube

In all the browser, the link to youtube videos don't play. Error message is " error occurred, please try later". However, I'm able to view full video on the Youtube site. This also happens in Vienna. Help appreciated.

Uninstall then reinstall a new copy of the Flash Player plugin which you need for YouTube.
Uninstall Flash
Install Flash
Flash prefers running in 32-bit mode.
Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) *make sure Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.*
Repair disk permissions...
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Okay, I was wondering how I could get Youtube videos into my iTunes and on to my Nano. I think I read somewhere that there is a way, I just need to find that article.

Okay , while I'm waiting for Sachem515 I discovered this book called _iPod, Fully Loaded_ by Andy Ihnatko and he has got quite a bit of stuff for downloading internet video to iTunes. I'm going to post a bit of what he says for other people to try out.
The first thing he says is that you can save the video file from the browser, a contextual menu or from a media player.
For an embedded video though, he says to get Quicktime Pro which has a Save As Quicktime Movie feature. Which is just dandy if you feel like forking over 30 bucks; no thankyou. (for me, anyway)
Another way for embedded video as he says is to view the page source while watching the video, this will open the HTML file. You then press Ctrl+F and search for the filename extension (or the word "embed") of that file. He says to try ".mov.", ".avi.", ".wmv.", ".flv." or "http://" and copy the URL into any open browser.
Here's an example:

So, you would copy this,"http//f3.putfile.com/videos/al-13720364138.wmv" to an open browser. The file will open in its own player (from which you can save the file) or it will download to the computer.
He then says that if nothing works, to go to a website like Ed2345 said to do.
I haven't really tried this stuff out yet, but tell me if it works or if you had to go through some different steps. And tell me if you guys know any other video format that Youtube uses. Thanks in advance!

2. Allow Plug-ins
    Safari > Preferences > Security
    Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"
    Enable it.
    Press " Manage Website Settings" button for more options.

I can't get YouTube videos to play

I was "cleaning" up some odd files that I noticed were on the hard drive and must have eliminated something important. Don't ask me what I deleted! Anyway, now I can't play any video that links to YouTube. I get the "Page cannot be located" error. So after some searching, I found a post that said I needed to uninstall/reinstall Flash Player. So I've now done the uninstall. But when I go to the Adobe.com website and start the download for the latest version that'll work on my setup, again I get the "Page cannot be located" error. When I try to go to customer service on the Adobe.com website, I also get this same "Page cannot be located" error. Talk about frustrating!
Does anyone have a suggestion? I do still have an older version of Flash Player ".dmg" file on the computer (version 11 vs. currently available version 14) and wonder if I should install the older version and then see if it will update to the current version...

I had the same problem when I updated Flash last time. Later versions of Flash screwed up all YouTube videos on a Mac still running Snow Leopard.
The last version of Flash I've used that works with Snow Leopard and YouTube (and almost any other web video) is 12.0.0.77. This may be due to a Safari issue with Snow Leopard--I'm running 5.1.7. Adobe says you have to change your Safari prefs/security to "Allow all plugins" and "Allow Java", but neither of these prefs appear in my version.
It's unfortunate, because Flash updates address security issues.

Can't get YouTube working in safari

YouTube doesn't work. Tried switching off HTML 5 test. Tried clearing cookies and history. Video doesn't load. I get the timer.

Ok...
Reset the iPad > Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Then try the YouTube app.
If that doesn't help, press and hold the YouTube app down until all the apps jiggle. Now tap the X on the YouTube app then tap Delete.
Then go to the App Store and re download the YouTube app.

I have a brand new iMac and can't get youtube site to open.

We just purchased a new 27" iMac. There are seven other computers on the network (Macs and PC) and all others can load the web page. When I type in the URL with either Safari or Chrome no page ever appears. All other web sites load no problem. Any suggestions?

OS X does not come with Flash pre-installed. Navigate to Adobe's website to download and install Flash and then re-try.

Can you get to "my videos" in the youtube section of Apple TV?

I have a question about the YouTube section of Apple TV. I currently store all of my home videos on youtube. I upload them as "private" and organize them in playlists, just as if each playlist was a DVD that I would burn. (As an example... one playlist is titled "Disney World 2011" with about 5 different videos from that week.) I love having everything private and stored in the cloud, and you can't beat youtube's free unlimited storage... but the only way we can watch family videos is on the computer. I'd love to not hook a cable up from my computer to TV, and it would be awesome if I could just easily see everything right through Apple TV.
I can see that you can get to "Featured Videos" "Favorites" "History" etc... in the youtube section. Is there any way to get directly to the videos that you've uploaded or to the playlists that you've created in the YouTube section on Apple TV?
If you can, I'm definitely going to buy the new Apple TV that just came out.
Any help, ideas or comments are very much appreciated!

I updated my iPad to iOS6 and the YouTube app is no longer there, no restrictions have been set and I have checked them to make sure they haven't been. I can't get it back and have no idea where to find it or get it back on my iPad, anyone have an answer

Just like the topic states........updated iPad, and lost the YouTube app, and no it's not because of restrictions cause I've checked......it's gone and I can't get it back, I've even hooked up to my computer and iTunes to see if I could get it back there also but no luck there either. I can't get the websites like youtube, facebook, etc to load. everything comes up as just text/words. i've downloaded adobe flash and real player on windows xp.

i have windows xp. i just got the computer and internet on it. i downloaded adobe flash and real player. but i still can't get sites like facebook and youtube to work. i always get popups that ask if its a trusted site and to add the exception, which i do. yahoo and msn work, i can see photos and pictures and images just fine, but facebook and youtube are still all just words and error messages. any suggestions besides what i've already tried? i'm not tech savvy so step by step is how i learn best!

Check the date and time and time zone in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.
Check out why the site is untrusted and click "Technical Details" to expand this section.
If the certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided (sec_error_unknown_issuer) then see if you can install this intermediate certificate from another source.
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the <b>issuer of the certificate</b>.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
If <b>"I Understand the Risks"</b> is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
*Note that some firewalls monitor (secure) connections and that programs like Sendori or FiddlerRoot can intercept connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.
*Note that it is not recommended to add a permanent exception in cases like this, so only use it to inspect the certificate.
