Can't Hear Audio - Realtek Audio Device

Hi Guys,
I have an Asus P5Q motherboard with a Realtek Audio Device on board and I can't here any audio. I don't have the tracks muted, I do have the headphones plugged in and I can hear other audio outside of the program. I did have this problem with Premier Pro CS3 but after a reboot one night it just started working...
Is there any particular drivers i need or software or settings to change??
Link to motherboard specs: http://au.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=709&l4=0&model=2164&modelmenu=2
Many Thanks in advanced,
Tim Raphael

Also download http://www.asio4all.com - a free ASIO driver which will work with at least some RealTek devices which I've come across. This driver will dramatically improve latency (reduce it!), and you can actually work realtime in Audition. In Audition's Audio Hardware Settings you will probably see both the RealTek generic driver and Asio4all, as they can coexist on a system. Select Asio4all everywhere you can.
Now, RealTek audio chips aren't exactly high-end hi-fi, so don't expect crystal clear noise free sound - and certainly do not blame Audition when you somehow can't get it ;-)

  • Can I hear line-in audio as I'm recording it?

Right now I have to use headphones on the tape player to find the starting point. It would be nice if I could hear the line-in inside of GarageBand. Is this possible?
    Thanks!

    Yes.
To monitor a Real Instrument track:
Select the Real Instrument track, then click the Track Info button to open the Track Info pane.
Choose On from the Monitor pop-up menu to turn on monitoring for the track, or choose Off to turn off monitoring.

  • Can't hear usb keyboard

Hi, i can't hear my m-audio keystation49e keyboard when i press the notes on it.
I have only opened the tutorial song at the moment, as i have only just got logic pro7.2 and am still using the tutorial song to experiment and learn.
I went to audio midi setup and my keyboard is recognised and selected i also clicked apply on it and then clicked test sound and it played so i know its working.
if its any help, i cant find my keyboard in the logic set up assistant when i click add at the midi devices part, so i just selected midi in - my keyboard.
    thanks for any help

Ok, I may be "blind" but I think I've figured out what you have to do. Open the Tutorial file (ok, you probably figured that out already). From the main overhead Window menu, selected Environment. If the environment window shows you a graphic of a keyboard and cabling you can skip the next step, if it shows a mixer do the following. On the left side of the environment window it will say Audio, hold the mouse button down until you have a menu and select MIDI-Instr instead of Audio. Now you should have a graphic representation of a keyboard and some cabling. In the upper left of the map there is an iconic representation marked Physical Input Object. Rubber band select that bad boy and hit delete. If your keyboard now works, save this entire file with a clever name like, Newtorial and continue to follow the manual from there. Don't worry, the only way you can screw things up is if you alter the tutorial file and then save it with it's original title. If this works, please let us know! If not, calling Apple support is not a bad idea at all, they're very pleasant and helpful and based in Texas which is a much bigger place than New York. They've helped me a number of times, even though I'm "blind". Good luck and keep us apprised.

  • I connect my mic with an M-audio mobile pre usb device.  When I try to record, I can see that my voice is recording but can't hear it during playback.

I connect my mic with an M-audio mobile pre usb device.  When I try to record, I can see that my voice is recording but can't hear it during playback.  I tried different input and output settings but it didn't help.  Any help will be appreciated.

Hear your microphone or instrument as you play and record (monitoring)
You can hear, or monitor, input from an instrument or microphone in GarageBand while you play and record. When you turn on monitoring for a track, you hear the musical instrument or microphone connected to the track’s input. Monitoring lets you hear yourself play so that you can hear the part you want to record as well as the rest of the project.
You can turn on monitoring for a Real Instrument track or Electric Guitartrack from the track’s header, or in the Track Info pane. Electric Guitar tracks always show their monitoring buttons, and you can show monitoring buttons for Real Instrument tracks using a menu command. You can use monitoring with feedback protection to avoid feedback while you play.
    Hide
To turn on monitoring in the track header:
Choose Track > “Show Monitoring for Real Instrument Tracks.”Monitor buttons appear in the headers of Real Instrument tracks. On tracks with monitoring turned on, the button lights yellow.
Click the Monitor button in the header of the track you want to use.
HideTo turn on monitoring in the Track Info pane:
Double-click the header of the Real Instrument or Electric Guitar track you want to turn on monitoring for.The Track Info pane opens.
From the Monitor pop-up menu, choose one of the following:
Choose Off to turn off monitoring. You can hear your instrument only while you record.
Choose On to turn on monitoring and protect against feedback.
Choose On (no feedback protection) to turn on monitoring without feedback protection. If the input level is too high, it may cause feedback (especially if you are using a microphone and listening to your project through your computer speakers).
For an Electric Guitar track, you can view the Monitor pop-up menu by clicking Edit, and then clicking the back side of the amp. The Monitor pop-up menu appears with the input controls below the stage.
You should usually turn off monitoring when you are not playing or singing. When monitoring is turned on, your computer can pick up output from your speakers or monitors, causing unwanted feedback. Using headphones rather than speakers to listen to your projects can help eliminate feedback.
If you select your computer’s built-in microphone as the audio input, in the Audio/MIDI pane of GarageBand preferences, monitoring is turned off for all Electric Guitar tracks to avoid unwanted noise.

  • Can't hear audio on FCPX except thru earphones; audio does not export.

Clips have audio through my headphones, but not otherwise (no problem with audio in other programs).
Sometimes I can hear bits of audio when I scrub, but it's inconsistent.
Exported video also has no audio.
I'm on a very new Mac Mini running Lion OSX 10.7.4.
No, the headphones are not still plugged in while I'm trying to hear it normally.
    Thanks for any advice...

  • URGENT! I can't hear my mic in logic express, I am using line 6 KB37 as audio interface

I just bought logic express 9 and I am having trouble. I can't record my vocals, I have the mic set up with the line 6 KB37 audio interface and when open a new project and create a new track I can't hear anything. There is no signal at all, even on the KB37. Any help much appreciated.

    Hi,
    1) What kind of mic are you using?  If it's a condenser mic, make sure you have phantom power turned on.
    2) I am not familiar with the KB37 audio interface.  What input is the mic on the device?  If it has a mic input, and a guitar input, then it's probably Input 1, but if it isn't you'll need to change the input on the track in Logic to whatever number it should be.

  • Can't hear audio in trim mode.

When I'm in trim mode and I play, in order to move the cut, I can't hear any audio.  It has nothing to do with scrubbing on/of because pressing shift+s has no effect.  It's also not working when I'm holding down "K" and pressing "L" simultaneously.
    DrL

works for me.  Have you looked in the view menu to make sure audio scrubbing is checked?  It's possible you've reset the keyboard shortcut or your keyboard has somehow or other gotten corrupted.  You might try deleting your fcp preferences.  Use this:

  • Can't Hear iMovie Audio On Any Of My Projects

Firstly, I tried playing the iTunes stored in the 'Audio' Tab. I click the play button to hear the iTune and the button turns blue yet there is no sound. However, I can hear the clicks of the mouse and other such sounds. I am able to play iTunes directly from the iTunes program, however, it will not play in my iMovie. When I play back my project, there is no audio from the project. I have followed the following suggestions from the support pages included with the software as follows:
If you can't hear some or all of the audio in your movie, here are some things you can check:
    • Make sure the volume on your computer is turned up. Use the speaker controls on your keyboard or the volume slider in the menu bar.
    • Use the volume slider under the iMovie monitor to increase the movie volume.
    • Make sure the audio checkbox is checked for the audio track you want to hear. The audio checkbox is to the right of each track in the timeline viewer.
    • If the audio checkbox is selected, then choose View > Show Clip Volume Levels and see if the audio levels for the tracks are set to a level that can be heard.
I did all the Above, Yet I get no audio from my projects! I can adjust the volume levels when I view 'show audio levels' etc.., the wave forms are there, I just don't get any audio output. Thanks for any help!
    Mac Dual 2.7GH   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   Using EyeTV200

Update: I used stored video footage I originally used to import into iMovie to create my project. I simply redid the import and still no audio; therefore, there appears to be something with the iMovie software. Do I need an update, how do I get the update or how can I repair it without losing the projects I already created? I'm at a loss here. All audio boxes are checked, etc..
Now, for no apparent reason as I was writing this, I re-opened the project for the enth time and it started to work. What the heck is going on with this softare? Previously I had force quite my eyeTV in the event the audio was being used for this, etc.. All of a sudden it just started working, however, now I have to see if it continues to work and that this fix is not just temporary

  • How can I just use a generic Realtek audio driver without "Beats Audio" interfering!?

Beats audio is terrible! I just want to have a flat EQ with no stupid sound effects enabled. The only way I've been able to do this so far, is to uninstall the audio driver, and just use the generic windows one instead. But what I would like to do is use a generic Realtek audio driver, and completely remove Beats Audio from my computer.
After uninstalling the audio driver that comes with my laptop, I tried getting a standard Realtek driver from their website. But when I install that, Beats Audio reappears! This is so frustrating! How can I uninstall Beats Audio? I want it gone forever! I can see from searching these forums that this is a common problem. But none of the solutions have shown how to just use a standard Realtek driver without this Beats Audio rubbish.
Can anyone tell me how this is possible? I'll stick to the generic windows driver if I have to. But it would be nice if I could just use the Realtek drivers as they were meant to be.
    Thanks

Thanks for the reply. But you've misunderstood the question. I know how to uninstall the sound driver and just use a generic Windows one instead. But what I'm actually looking to do, is install the Realtek audio driver without Beats Audio. Thanks.

  • I have video clips with 4 channels of audio, I can only hear audio recorded on channel one, how do I hear the other channels......?

I have video clips with 4 channels of audio, I can only hear audio recorded on channel one, how do I hear the other channels......?

What version of Premiere Elements and on what computer operating system?     Elements 13 on Windows 7
What is the brand/model/settings of the camera that recorded these videos?        ony  PMW 320
When you import them into your Premiere Elements project, what does Premiere Elements Properties for that import give for
the audio description in the way of number of channels? If you open the Audio Meter (Window Menu/Audio Meters) and you play back
the video in the Premiere Elements Editor, how many channels does the Audio Meter display?
I just drag and drop video and when playing back only channel 1 will appear
What is your intended export for this video in terms of audio as well as video compression and formats?    MP4
I think you can only use audio if it's recorded on channel 1 or it does not recognize it.

  • Can't hear audio in mac PE 9

I can't hear audio in my sceneline or timeline when playing clips. Makes it really hard to edit!
i capture video/audio from my mini-dv sony cam or from vhs through firewire gadget...
i added an m4v file to the project, couldn't hear audio either
the audio is there, because if i just trim off the ends and create a dvd it has audio....
The problem is on my mac mini... i installed it on my i7 laptop and audio works just fine.
i've checked all the audio settings on both machines and they are the same.
both have vlc and perian installed
just installed the 9.01 patch... no change
does anyone know what might be causing this?
    thanks

I've tried changing those to all possible combinations.... System Default, Built-in Output, etc. nothing helps.
on the mini, if you have speakers plugged in, it shows "headphones" as the only output option
i notice in the "audio output mapping" it shows headphones 1 and headphones 2
that seems strange as there is only one set of headphones
i checked my laptop settings ...there was nothing selected on my laptop in audio output mapping
"nothing selected" was not an option on the mini... so i renamed my prefs file and started PE again
then i had nothing selected in the audio output mapping... but it still didn't work
i forgot to mention something.... if i click on the slider/trim thing, and just hold down the arrows on the keyboard to advance the video, it advances at super slow motion and i DO get audio... so i think i have preferences set right.
    any other ideas?

  • I'm trying to record audio into my iPad2 using GarageBand and an iRig, but I can't monitor my tracks at the same time as recording, meaning if I lay down a drum track and attempt to record guitar, I can't hear the drums while recording. Thoughts?

I'm trying to record audio into my iPad2 using GarageBand and an iRig, but I can't monitor my tracks at the same time as recording, meaning if I lay down a drum track and attempt to record guitar, I can't hear the drums while recording. Thoughts?

Hi, I have this exact same problem. I haven't been using an iRig, just a cheap USB-jack cable. I managed to do this with the first cable I bought, but since it broke I've been unable to find a replacement that allows me to hear the drums while recording. DId you manage to get over this issue? If so I would really like to know how. Thanks and best wishes.

  • Can't hear audio on tracks three and four

    Hi,
I'm new to FCP 5. When I go the the audio mix window I can see the audio for tracks 3 and 4, i just can't listen to it. I checked my general settings under real time audio mixing and it says 8 tracks. I don't have any other applications up. Any ideas?
I should also mention that when I turn off tracks 1 and 2 I still can't hear the other tracks
    Dual 2GB G5   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

First, check the simple things .. like are those 2 tracks muted? Are both tracks enabled?
Do FCP's meters indicate that there IS audio there? What happens if you load either of those tracks into the Viewer - can you hear them? What happens if you move the clips on those tracks up to track 1 & 2?
