Can't hear my Podcasts

I received a ipod touch for Christmas and just realized I can barely hear my podcasts. I've tried to adjust the volume on the touch. The music on the touch plays at a reasonable volume. What am I doing wrong?

You need to adjust the gain in the podcasts in iTunes or other audio/video software.
In iTunes, select the podcast, and get info.
Goto Options, volume adjustment.

  • I can't hear my podcasts any longer

I can't hear my podcasts any longer. Began yesterday after two yrs. iOS is up-to-date--7.1.1. The speaker's voice cannot be heard on podcasts. Switched to music app. The music can be heard and the background vocals but not the lead singer. Weird. iphone is 2 yrs old--model # MC922LL/AThoughts?

First sync--refresh--podcasts you've subscribed to so they download to itunes.  Then click and drag each one to you own ipod.  Then will sync (if you have it set to sync) with your ipod and download to it.  You erase them from the ipod through itunes also.

  • Can't hear my podcast in both headphones

    hi guys
ok so im pretty new at this, and this may have been asked before but ive been searching the forum for about an hour and found nothing so far, so im hoping someone can help.
ok, so i have started doing a podcast with some friends, and i have just exported it and put it onto podbean and everything, but when i listened to it on my ipod i could hear nothing (or barely nothing out of the right ear)
i have tried having a play and searching in preferences etc, but cant alter this.
anyone know how to fix this so vocals are played out of both ears?
the songs seem to play fine, but any vocals only go through the left ear.
i recorded vocals in both garageband and though audio hijak, and both have the smae issue
if anyone could help i would be mucho gratefull
    cheers
    matt

    hi
well i tried that. i set the track the vocals are in to mono 1, and it still didnt really come through the right ear. i also tried to set it as mono 2, but the same happened.
i also tired to copy it so i had male voice as mono 1 and female voice as mono 2, with the audio track in each. but it still just comes through let ear.
is it something i have to change in audio hijak pro?
    sorry im abit useless
    cheers again

  • How come some podcasts are loud while others I can barely hear?

I enjoy listening to podcasts while at work.  I work in a place that does not allow head phones nor does it allow for a stereo.  I use a small iHome speaker. The Red Eye Radio podcast has a perfect volume level, while the Billy Cunningham podcast, Bill Burr, and Stuff you should Know podcasts can barely hear at full volume. How come the volume is so different from show to show.  Can't there be some kind of podcast/broadcast standard.  I enjoy all these programs but find myself only listening to the ones I can hear.

  • Can't hear caller/they can't hear me

    WARNING FOR ALL PRE OWNERS:
For the third time, I've experienced a problem with my Pre that I can answer or place a call, but the other end can't hear me, and I can't hear the other person.  This is a common problem with the Palm Pre.  It seems to be related to using the smartphoneearphone plug for a headset or to hook up external speakers to listen to music/podcasts.  My wife and I purchased Pre's on the second day after public release.  I used to love the phone for it's simplicity and functions, but yesterday I had to return to the Sprint store to have my 4th Pre replaced.  One had a different problem, but the other two had the same issue.  When I returned home from the Sprint store, I discovered my wife has the same problem (she's only on her 3rd phone, however).  Palm should really consider fixing the software/hardware problem--the Sprint store cannot repair on-site.  A replacement (reconditioned) phone must be shipped to the store, necessitating 2 trips per problem; a 30-min drive for me.  An alternate solution might be for Palm to put all its Pre owners on an automatic replacement cycle where the company automatically ships a replacement Pre to every own approximately every 6 - 8 weeks, since that seems to be the mean time between failures for this attractive appearing, but extremely poor quality, unreliable handset.  What good is it to have a smart phone that you can't use to hear/talk when making calls.  I've owned Palm 3-Com PDA devices since 1997, and Palm Treo 700s and 800WMs.  I've owned Palm stock for 4 years, but I'm telling you that when my 4th replacement phone (5th phone, counting my original purchase) arrives Tuesday, I'm immediately replacing it with a non-Palm phone and never buying another Palm product.  I am EXTREMELY disappointed.

I'm reposting my reply to this issue in another thread, still very relevant to the situation at hand:
    TreoAide wrote in this thread:
This is an issue that has been addressed previously, at least two other webOS threads and likely numerous palmOS and WinMo threads also:

This is something that nearly every manufacturer of portable devices deals with to one extent or another. Pocket lint and debris find their way into the headset jack and cause the device to permanently assume a headset is connected.
The only way to fix this is by cleaning out the headset jack. Either by inserting/removing a headset connector repeatedly, or as suggested in this support article: "Unplug the headset if it is plugged in. Blow into the headset jack to clear out any debris. Firmly plug in the headset."
HOWEVER if you choose to do that, I advise EXTREME caution, as you could accidentally get moisture into the jack, making the problem worse.
Our moderator tagz also made a suggestion in the first forum thread I referred to earlier, however again, use extreme caution when putting ANYTHING into the jack. Also, an earlier suggestion to have Pandora or some other music playing on the Pre while adjusting the jack provides good feedback for when the problem resolves.
One idea I've had and heard others suggest is a cover of some sort. Now, this would be an excellent opportunity for someone to make a lot of money with a headset cover designed for the Pre, but until then, try a Google search for "headset jack dust cover" and you'll see products made for other devices which should fit your Pre quite nicely.
    Hope this helps,

  • HELP - I can't download video podcasts that I used to be able to !

I have a 120 gb iPod classic that I received for Christmas a couple of years ago (2008) & I download podcasts to it every wk. since I received it. It still has 80 gb of free space BUT it wont' load some video podcasts from iTunes now. I'm thinking I accidentally changed a setting somewhere. Can somebody PLEASE help me? The video podcast I'm having trouble with today is "Max Lucado - Video Podcasts" that are in the iTunes store. I downloaded the "Call to Prayer" in Jan. '10 just fine & have many of his earlier than that on my iPod but none of the ones past that go to my iPod from iTunes. iTunes gives me a message that 3 of the videos were unable to load or something very similar to that.
REALLY looking forward to hearing from someone,
    Donette

I too have this problem but it seems to be selective.....I can download cooking video podcasts just fine but the Hubblecast video podcast files will not load onto my ipod.....how frustrating...hope there is an answer soon...

  • I have iTunes 11 and Windows 7. I can't hear what is playing on iTunes.

I have iTunes 11 and Windows 7. I can't hear what is playing on iTunes, even tho I can hear other stuff (eg YouTube) on my PC. I have checked the volume settings on my PC, in iTunes and even in the mini-player - they are all set at 100%. The little diamond at the top is moving, and the equalizer is showing that the music is playing, but I get no sound (music and podcasts). Help!

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

  • Can't hear my project any more

I've been working on a podcast for a few days and upon opening it tonight, I find I can't hear it. I can see the volume meters bouncing around, and if I put on headphones I can *just barely* hear it, but it's very very quiet. All other volumes from my computer are normal.
    Anybody else seen this issue?

Adding that this is happening to all the tracks and I've done all the very obvious volume adjusting. No dice.

  • Can't hear audio in trim mode.

When I'm in trim mode and I play, in order to move the cut, I can't hear any audio.  It has nothing to do with scrubbing on/of because pressing shift+s has no effect.  It's also not working when I'm holding down "K" and pressing "L" simultaneously.
    DrL

works for me.  Have you looked in the view menu to make sure audio scrubbing is checked?  It's possible you've reset the keyboard shortcut or your keyboard has somehow or other gotten corrupted.  You might try deleting your fcp preferences.  Use this:

  • IPhone 5S: does anybody has this problem. During a successful voice call all of a sudden people can't hear me while I can hear them

iPhone 5S: does anybody has this problem. During a successful voice call all of a sudden people can't hear me while I can hear them. Signal is strong and call quality (me hearing the other) is still very good but it looks as if I’m going on mute while I’m not muting my iPhone. When dropping the call and re-dialing it works fine again. It’s a brand new iPhone 5S but it now happened already 4 or 5 times in 2 days.
It feels like a hardware/iOS problem and not a network issue. It happend with iOS7.03 but I just see 7.0.4 is available so will install that one now.
    Thanks in advance for feedback
    Best regards,
    Marco

    Hello Jeff,
Thank you for providing so much detail about the issue you are experiencing with the audio on your iPhone.  I would be concerned too if the audio on my iPhone was not working unless using speaker phone.  I found an article with some steps to take when you are experiencing issues like this:

  • Can't hear recorded sound during video playback

I take a lot of videos of my kids.  I have noticed lately that the volume is low or muffled...you can't hear what is being said even if they are screaming 6 inches away.  I thought maybe something had gotten into the microphone, etc.  I recorded a voice memo and on playback i could hear what was recorded just fine at a normal level. Now once I tried to record a video of my kids talking, it played back so low that i can't hear anything and that is with the volume turned wide open.  Not really sure what this issue could be but if the volume works fine on voice memo wouldn't it work the same on video playback?

    Hi there AmPriSi,
It sounds like you may be experiencing a microphone issue with your iPhone. Use the following article to help you address this issue:

  • IPhone 6 - people can't hear me; garbled; breaking up

Has anyone else had problems with the iPhone 6, where people on the other end can't hear you?  They say I'm garbled and breaking up.  I can hear them fine.  Love everything about the iPhone 6 EXCEPT using it as a PHONE!!!

Hi has anybody had any resolution to this problem? I've already swapped out my new iPhone 6 for a new one due to people not being able to hear me (breaking up, garbled) when I use the phone in my house. The new phone is doing the same thing! So frustrating. Was on with support for 2 hours yesterday trying everything. We did the ATT carrier update and it seemed the issue was fixed. Very next phone call the call started out fine then after one minute the caller was telling me they couldn't hear me that I was breaking up. So annoying. Others in my house have iphone 4 & 5 and they work perfectly fine only the 6 has this issue.

  • Iphone 5s - siri can not hear me

I Have troubles with Siri and the keyboard microphone. Siri can not hear me and it is not possible to dictate any text via the keyboard. Both functions are working fine when I use a external headphone with microphone. The voice memo app is working correctly, so I don't think it is a hardware problem. I checked all siri settings and they seem okay. Voice feedback is not on handsfree but on always. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? I have the feeling the iPhone isfor these functions expecting audio input from annexternal source in stead of the build in microphones. Does anybody have an idea to solve this problem?

Well, that's a new comman issue comes up with IOS 8.3 version. Before 8.3 IOS version Siri were only available in some languages, however, after 8.3 release many languages are supported.
Even if you enable Siri > General > Settings.. still respond your voice.
No need to try to troubleshooting device - it will not solve your problem. You have to restore your iPhone and then setup as a new device. That's solution.
May I ask you to tell me if you siri in English ?

  • My speaker on my iPhone 4s stopped working. I can't hear my phone ringing, music, apps or use the speaker when having a call.  I can still make and take calls when I see them calling but can't hear the phone ring.

This afternoon my speaker on my phone stopped working. I can not hear it ringing when someone call, but if I see someone calling and I answer the call they can hear me and I can hear them fine. I also can't not put the caller on speaker at all , I also can't hear my music or gaming apps. When I turn my phone on or off it does not make a sound as well. I have turned the phone off and turned it off by pressing the top button and home button at the same time and that did not work. I checked the volume and the mute button and the volume is up all the way. I don't know what else to do can you please help me?

I have had this happen to me on 3GS, 4 and 4s.   Usually the solution is one of the following:
1-  If  your volume indicator says  headphones even though they are not plugged in, then:
Stick your headphones into the headphone jack and then remove quickly.
    2. If that does not work Power your phone off. Then when restarting Reset the phone by pressing the home button and the power button at the same time until the apple logo appears.
    3. Make sure you have not chosen to send audio to an Airplay device such as Apple Tv.
Hope one of these works for you
