Can't hear some purchased iTunes in iDVD slideshows

When in edit mode in iDVD and I choose "Audio" to select media source, most (not all) of my purchased iTunes appear with a little lock on the iTune icon. If I add any of these to the slideshow, as soon as I attempt to view the slideshow, the message, "This computer is not authorized to play this song" appears. I follow thru by entering the password, and I receive a message that the computer is now authorized, but the song still won't play in iDVD. I've "Quit" iDVD, iTunes, and rebooted the computer several times. Oddly, this has been a sporadic problem the last several nights, but tonight it's impossible. I have no problems playing any of these songs directly in iTunes.

Help - I am having the same issue and need to burn a DVD before a wedding this weekend. I have copied my purchased music to a CD, deleted the originals from iTunes, imported them back from the CD. The little lock icon was gone from the iTunes icon so I thought all was fixed but the same issue happened when I tried to burn. I also deauthorized my computer and reauthorized it, checked for all updates and tried to share with my iPod (same issue there too). Any other fixes? What about upgrading to iLife '08? Has that solved the issue for others? I am desperate here.

You need an AppleTV connected to the TV via HDMI to do so unless you want to connect a Mac/PC running itunes, iPhone or iPad to the TV.

  • What can I do with purchased iTunes?

I still can't understand just what I am allowed to do with purchased iTunes and hope someone can clear it up for me.
    Some of my questions:
1--Can I burn it to a CD as a compilation with other songs I have purchased?
2--Is there a limit to the number of times I can burn it to a CD?
3--Can I give a CD to a friend that has a compilation of songs from my own purchased CD tunes and iTunes purchased songs?
I may think of other questions but for the moment that will help clear things up a bit.  Thanks for any info.

It is illegal to give your music to others, whether it is coping a cd or itunes or Amazon or any other music that you do not own the distribution rights to.

  • Can't hear some songs on the ipod

after I downlaod a song onto my ipod, I can't hear it. It skips the song and moves to the next one. But when I plug the ipod into itunes, and see the playlist, I can hear it.
problem: I can't hear songs independently with ipod.
I don;t know if it is the format it is in but it is driving me crazy.

How are you putting the songs on your iPod? Are you loading them through iTunes?
If you're just using the iPod as a removable drive and dragging the songs to the iPod, they will be stored on the iPod but not accessible through the interface.

How do I add music from itunes to my slideshow in premiere?

What have you tried, and do you receive an error message?
In general, itunes has DRM (copy protection) so it will only work according to the license... and as far as I know, Apple's license does not allow use in a new product, only in the Apple player... new product being the video you want to create

Does anyone else feel strongly that the support page lacks real 'support'. Some pages simply loop back and forth. I have had this issue for over a year. It seemed to have been resolved with someone telling me that my accounts could be linked. It weven seemed to work with some items but I have several expensive purchases, audio books etc, that I still cannot authorise. All help gratefully received, preferably dot point it so I can follow.
    Thanks

  • Using purchased iTunes in iDVD

I have just purchased some iTunes for my Mac and followed the procedure to authorize them for this computer, many times actually. When trying to use them in iMovie, I keep getting the message that they aren't authorized for use on this computer. I searched the forum and found advice to play the iTunes first, but that didn't work. I've consulted Help for both programs. Can anyone help?
    Thanks!

  • What to do when you can't access some purchased content?

I bought a couple of books for my kids through an app in 2012. At some point, the app asked me to "upgrade" to a new version of their app, which I did. In doing that, I lost the books I had purchased. I have tried to restore purchases, and they say there is nothing to restore. The original app I was using is no longer available in the app store. I have contacted the publisher of the app, and they just told me to re-download them from the app store, but these were in-app purchases, so they're not in the app store. What do I do? Is there any protection for consumers in this instance? How do I either get my content or my money back?

You can't do much more than requesting, using the Request Page you found. Depending on the movies, it could also be the studios holding back the release in iTunes or other platforms.

  • HT201272 Can't sync previously purchased iTune music & unavailable to re-download

    Hello everyone!
Here's my problem:  I got a new computer, transferred all iTune files to new computer using flash drive & authorized new computer for my apple id.  I am still unable to sync my previous iTune purchases to my ipod & itouch.  My 100+ iTune songs error out, saying "unable to sync, cannot locate original file".  I checked help info & it says to download again from "Purchased" list in iTunes Store.  No "iCloud logos appeared in my list so I downloaded most recent iTunes update including iCloud & tried again.  No success.  Researched further and found if shows as "downloaded" it is unavailable.  All of my songs are listed as unavailable even the ones I purchased last week.  Does anybody have any idea what I could be doing wrong or how to fix it?  I am totally frustrated and out of ideas and my teenage daughter is not a happy camper either.  I;d appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks!

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .
BTW iTunes won't offer your past purchases to you if there is a current entry in the library, even if that entry is to a missing file...

  • Can't access previously purchased iTunes music ='(

    So here's the problem:
So about five years ago or so my computer that held all of my files crashed. And I know, it's my fault for not storing them elsewhere =(
Now I don't expect Apple to help me get all the mucic I lost, but all I want downloaded to my new computer are all the songs, apps, etc. that I had purchased over the years, since I know they keep track of all that. Now you may wonder, "Why don't you just sync your iPod to your new computer and problem solved!"
Well... that would work....except for the fact that some buttholes broke into my car and stole my iPod touch, the last storage item that held my music. I know I can't recover the music that I had burned into it, but I have been hoping that Apple could go ahead and allow me to download the music that I have bought to my new computer and new iPod. So far, I haven't found a way to do this. So will I have to call Apple about this? It doesn't seem fair for me to have to buy music that I already 'technically' own. Any way to do this? Thanks

You can redownload those purchased music from your new iTunes.
Go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through all the tabs to download again for free

  • I can't play my purchased iTunes on my iPad?

I live in China.  My home Mac is in the USA.  I've purchased many iTunes in the last year.  My problem started when I loaded iTunes on my PC that I have in China so I can home share with my Apple TV.  I also purchased iCloud.  I uploaded all my songs from my ipad to the cloud and then downloaded to my PC.  Now I can no longer play music on my ipad.  I can see the but it scrolls to the next available song.  But now I don't have very many left.  I thought maybe it was because of songs on too many devices (iMac in USA, iPad in China, and PC in China).  I deleted the downloads on my PC because I really want them on the Ipad. Don't know what to do. I'm hesitant to make any more purchases on iTunes.

To expand on what Templeton says (because I had the same problem and the solution wasn't terribly intuitive for me) make sure that on your iPad you're signed into the iTunes store with your iTunes ID, NOT your MobileMe/iCloud/Apple ID.
In addition to accessing this sign in in Settings, you can also sign in at the bottom of the iTunes store page.
In a better world, I wouldn't have two IDs, one for Apple and iCloud and one for iTunes, but alas, that is not this world.

  • HT201272 How can i recover my purchased itunes movies on ipad?

I have deleted purchased movies from my ipad. How can ik recover these movies?

If you are in a country where films can be re-downloaded and they aren't from studios that don't allow it and the films are still in the store then they should appear in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app. If they don't then have you got copies of them on your computer and/or on a backup that you could resync to the iPad ? If not then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download (assuming that they are still in the store) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
