Can't hear VO I recorded over external speakers

- I recorded a VO that I can hear clearly through my headphones when during playback but only as a whisper over my external speakers.
- I have no problem hearing the AIFF music bed that is on a separate track so I know audio is working.
- I'm using an BLUE ICICLE digital adapter for my Shure 8900 microphone that plugged into USB port on back of my monitor.
- All the correct settings seem to appear in my audio preferences.
- Also, on the VO tab BLUE ICICLE appears as Source and Input.
- Once again, I can hear playback through my headphones although the audio waveforms for my VO are only a fraction of the size that they are for the music bed AIFF waveforms.
- Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong an how to correct?

"Doing everything" sounds comprehensive, but is says nothing. It would be more useful if you could simply list what you have done/tried. Because if you truly did everything, then your problem has been proven unsolvable.

Software Monitoring on or off does not affect the playback of a recorded track.
Are your headphones plugged into the direct out on the M-Box? In that case you should turn off software monitoring, because you would double up the signal (if it were all routed correctly), which would sound like you've introduced a flanger or even a slapback delay on the input.

The Audio Mixer is under the Tools menu in Expert view or under the Tools drop-down menu at the top of the interface.

I'm running 10.6.4 on my imac 27". Can hear sound though the internal speakers, but even when I plug externals in and restart I can't see any option in the sound system preferences to let me hear through the external speakers. It's odd. Can anyone help?

Is this a problem that just started for you, or have you never been able to plug in headphones or external speakers and have them work?
Are you sure you are plugging into the correct jack on the computer? On my slightly older iMac I sometimes reach around to the back and hit the wrong jack.
When I open "Sound" in System Preferences and hit the "Output" tab, I see "Internal Speakers" listed. Then when I plug in my headphones the "Internal Speakers" automatically changes to "Headphones."
Is this what you see on your computer?

IN SL can't get chime to play thru external speakers

In 10.5 all my computer's sounds were set to be played thru external speakers. Now I can't get the startup chime to do it as it only plays thru the INTERNAL.
Any reason?

Older Macs could play the startup chime through external speakers plugged into the headphone socket; but from a few years back this changed and on modern Macs the chime always comes from the built-in speakers.

I recently upgrade my Macbook Pro to Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3. There hasn't been any complications till now - where I can't hear any volume from my speakers nor headphones. I've checked volume control/and sound in the system preferences and everything seems to working fine.
I've been looking online but haven't found anyone with the same problem...

Next, I suggest opening Disk Utility and perform a Permissions check, then reboot.
You might install a new version of 10.7.3, since clearly something's wrong with your previous version. Always, always backup your system before upgrading or downgrading.

We'd need to know specifically what "dock speakers" you have before anyone could offer information or opinions. I'd suggest just contacting the maker of those dock speakers and asking them. They'll be in the best position to say whether or not their product is compatible with the iPad 2.

Can't hear Voice Command prompt over bluetooth headset

Hello,
I paired my Jawbone Prime headset with my new iPhone 3GS, and for the first day or so I was able to activate Voice Commands by pressing & holding the "Noise Assassin" button. First the headset would beep, then the Voice Command screen would come up on the iPhone, and when the the phone was ready, I'd hear the Voice Command prompt. Everything was great.
Then, suddenly one afternoon, the headset beeped an extra time, and I no longer hear the Voice Command prompts. I don't hear the initial prompt, or any further prompts such as "home or cell?" or the voice telling me what song is playing.
I have tried pairing/unpairing, resetting the phone and the headset, and every combination thereof.
Has anyone else encountered this or have any suggestions?

I wish I could say that was the problem, but it was not. I keep the phone in vibrate mode all the time, but I took it out to try and increase the volume for notification, but it was up all the way already. FYI - the bluetooth volume is all the way up too.
I sent a message to Motorola last night to see if they have a solution. They already upped it to the next level of support to resolve, so I am hoping to hear something from them soon.

I can't hear any sound through headphones/mini speakers

Hello. My iPod mini is just under a year old and has almost died. The battery life is terrible and just recently the sound has completely gone. The iPod says its playing but when i try to listen to it no sound comes out of headphones/speakers etc. I dont know how to fix it. It's been updated, reset many times and still doesnt work. My year warranty is almost up so can someone please help me asap.

How can I hear my ipod on my computer speakers

do I necessarily have to use the headphones. I have bose companion 5.

What i have, is a docking station, and my sync cord plugged into the station with my ipod on it, after its done charging, i use my cord that hase headphone jacks on both sides, then i plug one into my ipod and one into the microphone slot and it works perfectly. i controll the sound with the computers speakers.

Why do I hear the radio on my external speakers?

I have a DSL connection, and I leave my computer on at night. My speakers pick up the radio, and I actually have to turn the speakers' volume down at night. Is there a way to correct this? Just curious.

So this is a third party set of speakers? With a line level imput? There could be a bad ground in the input cable, floating ground in either the computer or speaker set or ground loop ( Google it ).
We used to have this problem at a place I worked in downtown Chicago. Any piece of equipment at one end of our tech repair bench would pick up this radio station big time but we were just down the street from a ton of radio transmitters.

Can't hear audio from handheld mic recording

I can hear interviews I recorded with a handheld mic on videos edited in iMovie and uploaded to YouTube only if I access YouTube via a brower such as Safari and Puffin and only if I use my new third generation iPad or an iMac or PC.
If I try to access the videos via YouTube's app on my new iPad, I can hear the nat sound recorded with the video camera but I can't hear the interviews recorded with a handheld mic.
I can't hear the interviews recorded with a handheld mic on my iPhone 4 through YouTube's app or via a browser.
I wasn't having any problem three weeks ago. This just started last week.
What is causing this problem? Is there a workaround or solution?

In other words: I can only hear what I recorded on the mic when I play the video back. *I want to know how to hear (through the speakers) what I am recording while I am recording it.

How can I monitor audio that I am recording from external source?

I am recording music from LP records (vinyl) and need to be able to listen to it while recording. It is impossible to know when a track is finished if you can't hear the music from either internal speakers or headset. Is there any way I can passthrough the sound from line in to internal speakers or headset?

This is essentially a Mac problem, about which most of us know very little, because we use PCs. The ususal solution to monitoring is to use headphones to monitor an input directly, and if you do that in a PC then you have to set it up - probably the same in a Mac. Unfortunately your Presonus Audiobox doesn't have a headphone socket, which would probably make things easier - usually there's an app that comes with most devices of this nature that will help you with monitoring, but without a headphone socket on the box... not a lot of point!
Hopefully one of the developers might know the answer - they usually turn up at some point, on a fairly regular basis.
