Can't hide a particular event using Event Manager X?

I got Event Manager X yesterday to save the hassle of hiding Events manually.
It appears to work OK but I have one Event which I just cannot hide.
I deselect it, click the Move button and when FCP X reopens it's still there in the Event Library and it's still selected in Event Manager X.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Problem solved!
It appears that I had an identically named Event already in the "hidden" folder.
Once I altered its name I was able to hide it.
My only puzzle now is how I created 2 identical events in the first place.

You can use REMOVE_DRILL_DOWN in WAD to remove characteristic..to remove a keyfigure with a button you could a variable with that button, which makes an invalid selection of the keyfigure though it is 2000, e.g. set CALYEAR = 1900.

Can I hide the capacity in an event?

We create events for our educational class offerings. I love the option to close the class when it reaches capacity, as we have some very small classes. However, we also have some classes for which we can accept an unlimited number of participants. For those, I don't set a capacity. The trouble is that it shows up on the event screen as "Capacity: Not Set (0% booked)" More than once, a potential participant has seen this and thought that zero people have signed up for the class, and that it would likely be cancelled. Is there a way to have the capacity just not show up at all when I don't want to set it?

You can use following liquid code on event details layout:

I have Firefox 3.6.13 with Firefox for Yahoo 1.7 on Win XP and when I close the browser window, I can't open it again without using Task Manager to close firefox.exe any suggestions?

This started when I first set started using Yahoo Messenger. It appears to me that Yahoo messenger is keeping the application firefox.exe open in the background and this prevents the browser from opening. The only thing I can't understand is why the broser will open the first time with Yahoo Messenger running.

Can't Install any CS6 Apps using Application Manager

I have a Mac Mini (mid July 2011) running OSX Lion (10.7.4) and a new Creative Cloud subscription but I'm having real problems when I try to install any creative suite application using Adobe Application Manager. AAM downloads the app and tries to install it but the result is always the same...
The installation image mounts on the desktop, AAM says 'Installing' then the installation image disappears from the desktop and AAM gives the message 'Installation Failed'. The error report is always the same for every app. Here is an example from trying to install Adobe Acrobat X Pro:

It's driving me crazy. I also have a MacBook (early 2009) running Snow Leopard and I have no problems installing apps from Creative Cloud onto that machine. I just can't get anything to install on the Mac Mini - I've tried running the Creative Suite Cleaning Tool but this didn't help.
I'm using AAM Version 6.2.77
Can anyone shed any light on this?

Jeff, many thanks for your reply. Unfortunately even trying to install one of the trial versions (Photoshop CS6 for example) didn't work as this relied on the Adobe Download Manager which just kept causing my machine to freeze.
I tried various things including uninstalling and re-installing various bits and pieces like the download manager, Adobe AIR, FlashPlayer, etc. But nothing would work.
In the end I had to resort to a completey clean install of my operating system which has now resolved the issue (although I still had a few teething troubles with the AAM).
Hopefully the problem won't re-appear.

Can't configure deployed WebCenter app using Enterprise Manager after WLST

Using fusion middleware version 11.1.1.4 with WLS and WebCenter of same versions.
I deployed an ADF application using WLST and the application mostly runs, but I need to configure some portal connections from the Enterprise Manager. I am able to configure many options but when I try to select an option under WebCenter I get:
"You do not have permission to view this page. Contact your administrator"
I get this message for any deployed application even those I didn't deploy using WLST and I was able to configure them fine before this.
I am logged as the Weblogic administrator.
For the deployment using WLST, I connected to the admin server, deployed successfully and last issues exit().
I tried to shutdown the Managed server but took more than 5 minutes (which is not common) so I killed the process and restarted it. Was able to run the application but still can't configure the WebCenter options for any application???
Please advise how to get out of this stuck issue!!

Can't close indesign. have to use task manager repeatedly.

when closing out indesign CS5 it shows a few popups in the upper left corner really fast (it does it when i save now in illustrator as well) and then doesn't close. i have to open task manager where it is listed as "not responding" and close it every time. i have restarted and run defrag and disk cleanups and it doesn't help.

when i turn off the auto-activation feature it seems to be shutting off
properly. it was set to turn off fonts upon closing so i bet that is
what was causing issues. i turned it back on and indesign closed fine so
i'm not sure if the issue is fixed or not. turning it off seems to have
stopped the weird popups in indesign and in illustrator when i turn it
off in that as well. so it appears to be the suitcase fusion 3
auto-activation causing problems.
as for the forums, when logging back into adobe forums it tells me i
need to select a screen name even though i have one and won't let me
continue since mine is marked as being used. so i still can only reply
using email. i have attached screenshots anyway just in case it might be
something else.

Can't hide mail.app in Yosemite

Can't HIDE the mail.app using Cmd-H or by selecting the menu item.
Option-click another app or desktop doesn't hide mail either.
Anybody else seeing this?

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

No way around this that I can find. That toolbar pops up if you pause the show.
The nearest I could figure is to use the settings button for a long slide - 'Play each slide for 120 seconds' then tapping the arrows will move the slides along without showing the toolbar. And the 120 second slide is almost as good as a pause.

My boss is asking me how can we hide the event information in the delegates, in order that the delegates can see that he is busy but not to know in what he is busy?

How can I view my photos in "Events" like in iPhoto? How can I create events? I have 55,000 photos and 1700 events so the only way I can possibly manage my photos is using events that are one slide in size.

I have 55,000 images organized into about 1700 events. The only reasonable way to view my library is using events in iPhoto where each event has one image That still leaves 1700 images to sort through but that is a lot easier than 55,000 images. In the side bar is a folder with "iPhoto Events" but those views still show all of the slides. How can I create events and view my photos as events as in iPhoto? Events are critical for large libraries and has been my primary way to sort images.

I had a problem a couple of months ago when iPhotos suddenly rearranged the order of my Events (Why won't iPhoto let me arrange my photos?) . I was told "Use albums not events - events are not a good way to organize - albums and folder are designed for organisation and are very flexible".
Haha! I should have paid attention and read between the lines! My iPhotos were highly organised groupings - not according to date but the way I wanted them - and it was so easy to do! I see now that if I had them all in albums, as per the Apple Apologist suggestion, I wouldn't have this unholy mess I have been left with just to make iPhone & iCloud users happy. I am now going through Photos and making Albums (of what used to be in my Events) ... maybe I'll get this finished before they do another non user friendly update!

i've got a doubt about events. i am using events to send information between objects, so that the objects don't need to know who they are sending the information to.
so i created my own events, listener and listenermulticaster
but i have the feeling that events are intended to be used by the GUI objects, swing and awt.
my question is if it is a good programming practice to use events to communicate other kind of objects. or maybe using events is not desirable at all??
if events must not be used for this kind of works, what are the other ways to do it??

now im considering using interfaces. if i understand it, the idea would be this:
object A has information to send, so it has an atribute of tipe MyInterface, which has the methods to send the data.
object B wants to get the data, so it create a new MyInterface and do something like:
A.setMyInterface(new MyInterface() {....});
i think this would work if there is only object B which wants the data (actually, this is the case i was thinking of from the beginning)
but what can i do if there are more objects wich must get the data?
Must the object A keep a Vector or something of more than one interfaces??

Can I use Event structures in a subVI?

I have a subVI (ProvaEv1.vi) that use an event structure inside. But when I use it in a VI (ProvaVI.vi) the event structure in the subVI doesn't catch the events.
I tried to insert the event structure in a while loop but it doesn't work too.
Could you help me?

The broken wire is related to your question. The event structure inside the sub vi knows about the events you register in the main, because the reference wire/control has a "strong" type. It contains information about the registered events. That is also why the wire is broken. You have to register all events, then create an indicator/control of the output. Use that control in the subvi. You have to do this every time the events change (you might use a type def if you use the control a lot).
Usually, the events that you would want to put inside subvi's are those related to user interface objects. I've had this a lot. You make a nice interface, but it's not reuseable, because the events are mixed with all the other events. Only solotion is to manually add the needed event cases in your program, and copy the code.
Even if you can put the events in a sub vi, I'd expect hanging vi's when more subvi's are registered for the same event. It's hard to tell without trying. So it's not a real solution either.
Like Chrisger suggested, the event callback might help a little, but they are tricky, and actually ment for this (they are intended for activex callbacks).
Perhaps you should look at XControls (if you use 8.2). It would be more work to replace your code to XControls, but once you're done, you have reusable code.. Haven't worked with them jet, but they are invented for this problem...

I have already create my application using event structure just in Main VI but it seems very complicate to read and keep update, I would have wanted to give modularity to my application.

When you published your infopath form, did you promote the field you are trying to update to a property, and allow updates (its one of the steps in publishing your form, where you pick which fields you want to show as fields in the list view)...
Otherwise, how about get the Item.SPFile object, open it as XML, find the field you want to update, and update it that way...
