Can't hide dvd controller
can't hide the dvd controller. I have selected 5 seconds inactivity in dvd player prefs but the controller
is still on the desktop. the only way I can hide the controller is to select hide in the window drop down menu. I am using dvd player app version 4.6.5 framework version 4.7.0
I'm having the same problem.

Greetings all. Searched and can't find this in the forum.
Has anyone noticed that trying to "HIDE DVD STUDIO PRO" using Leopard 10.5.4 and DVD SP 4.2.1 seems to be impossible!
I never saw this behavior using Tiger and we've been on Leopard for a long time now but I thought I'd post this.
I know I can Command-TAB to switch apps but not being able to send it to the dock is a real nuisance!
Anyone else seen this? Perhaps the boys and girls at Apple can add this to their bug fix requests?
Regards,I've had the same thing happening with both After Effects and DVDSP for a while now. It seems to happen after using the app. for a while. A restart of the app. will often solve the problem - not that I bother to do that. Both apps. seem to diff. from the standard Apple app. "skin" (if one can call it that) and maybe there are issues in this regard. Been using 10.5.2 since it came out and recently upgraded to 10.5.4 (installed Pro Tools, and it was required). Same thing.
I mostly use Option-clicking to hide apps, and it seem to work more often than Command-H (AE is Option-Command-H). -
I updated to Mavericks and now I can'burn any DVD's any more. I get the following error message and the disk is ejected: The disc can’t be burned because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0x80020000)
I did burn the same way in MAC OS X 10.6.8. with no troubles!
Can anyone please help me out?

I can not burn dvds anymore and do not know why. I can play dvds and cds though!

I have run Disk Utility from the Install cd of Snow Leopard and the small things which needed repairs have been repaired.
I have reset the PRAM and the SMC (System Management Controller). Nothing.
I have set up a new user account with admin privileges but it did not work.
Please, note that I am trying to burn the same Kodak Pro dvds for photo and data archival that I burned in the past in the same MacPro.
I am actually burning my dvds using my MacBook Pro connected with my MacPro through Airport but it's a very slow process, of course.
Any piece of advice ?

I use a mac mini as my media center attached to my tv. Recently, I upgraded to Leopard. Couple things that used to work like a charm in Tiger version of Front Row do not work in the Leopard version: 1. for some dvds, the menus are unselectable but they worked fine in Tiger (I understood this is a bug); 2. In Tiger, "Esc" during video playback used to bring up the dvd controller, so I could select subtitles, go to a specific chapter, etc.
Is there any shortcut key combination that will bring the dvd controller up in the new front row? if not, can I customize a shortcut key and assign it to front row? I use a logitec dinovo edge so I really do not care about the apple remote. I have quite a number of dvds that I would like to toggle in/off the subtitles.Well,
That is pretty bad... So why do I have Front Row then? Of course I could play the DVD using the DVD player but then I would ask again, why do I have the front row? I could play my fotos from iPhoto, and I could play my music from iTunes but that is not the point, is it? So is this an improvement of Front Row from Tiger to Leopard? I'd rather have dvd assist to help me play VIDEO_TS and being able to access my subtitles rather than having a fancy direct access to the iTunes and iPhoto libraries as well as DVD player framework and lose the functionality of the DVD player.
Your suggestion is not good enough for me. My mother will not be able to go and navigate to my NAS to pick the VIDEO_TS folder in the DVD player, nor do I want to teach her that.
I'd rather pay, $20-25 to anyone who can make a plug in that will enable dvd player controller to be accessed from within front row with a keyboard shortcut. And I am very serious about it.
For now, I will stick to my workaround. Open the VIDEO_TS folder in DVD player, select the subtitles. Close the DVD player and next time when I ran the Front Row the subtitles will be selected. I do not know what will happen if I turn off my server and start it back up again.

How can I share DVD drive on Windows with multiple ODD?
My Windows machine have 2 ODD -- one CD ROM drive, another DVD R/W
(and one more virtual drive, which I think is irrelevant)
Installed "DVD or CD sharing" and remote computer is visible from Air via remote disk.
BUT when I connect and request for use, only first CD-ROM drive is ejected and MBA waits for that drive... and that drive only.
I can't see any configuration option to select which drive I will share.
How can I get DVD sharing work in this case?
Does anybody have similar problem?

Unfortunately the support is down at the moment, I will have a better look later. I did go though the Apple support previously, however I found nothing that worked.
The first thread I came across was “Home Sharing” however no mater what I did, it did not appear in the iTunes sharing list (I did go though the “Show Sharing Networks” support as well)
Secondly, I saw “Using A Single Library With Multiple Accounts On The Same PC” (Something like that) but all this did was let us share the same music location, if I was to rip extra music, it will not show in there library

A few years ago, I transferred all of my home videos onto DVD but now would really like to put these onto my Mac and stream them through Apple TV to watch on the "big screen". Apple do not have their "own" format. You need to convert your DVDs to H.264 though. -
I have some JPanels and using the mouse motion listeners you can scribble on them. I want to be able to switch between these panels but the problem is the drawings get wiped off when I use repaint() and frame.add(panel).

Tnx.You could hide the column, by using the standard functinoality of the ALV output, you would need to hide the column, and save a default layout. This way the next time you come into this display, the column will not be there.

How can I hide a text label as I would a control or indicator?
As I have multiple indicators that must have the same identifier to the operator I can not use the indicator label as the items identifier. At times I want to hide the indicator and label. How can I hide the label? Please recall a text label just sits on the front panel as desired. It isn't within a raised or lowered box. In the attached sample I would like to hide "MyLabel" when the date indicator is hidden.

Test_Label.vi 35 KBHere�s a way. Its a little involved, but it will work:
1. Customize a control or indicator to remove the border (I used a string control)
a. Right click on the control or indicator, go to �Advanced � Customize�
b. Click on the wrench on the tool bar to enter edit mode
c. Select the border and drag it off to the side
d. Reduce the size of the border to a single pixel (it won�t let you delete it)
e. Rubber band a box around the 1 pixel border to select it and use the cursor keys to move it within the �white space� of the string control. It will effectively disappear. You will NOT be able to move it with the mouse as LV will try to resize the border instead of moving it.
f. Using the color tools �suck up� the background color of your vi and �paint� i
t into the white space of the control.
g. Make the control the correct size to hide your label(s). Make sure it is right as you will NOT be able to resize the control outside of the �customize� function (i.e.: while on your front panel)
h. Click on the tweezers to go back to customize mode.
i. Give your control a descriptive name
j. Right click on the control, go to �Visible Items� and uncheck �label� to hide the label.
k. Save your new control
2. Back on your front panel, place your new control over what you want to hide and programmatically make it visible or invisible as desired.
I have included a copy of your original vi, modified to hide and unhide your label. I have also included the customized string control that accomplishes this. You may resize the control as needed by �customizing it as described above.
The only disadvantage to this method is that if you want to hide multiple labels they must be in the same area of the front panel. Otherwise you must have seve
ral �hiding� controls.
An advantage is that you will not have to make the original control or indicator (i.e.: the date indicator) visible or invisible as it can be hidden as well.
Hope this does what you want.
