Can't Hide Illustrator CS3

Even when I have "show all" chosen under the "Illustrator" menu, I can't hide Illustrator. Command+Tab, then hitting the "h" to hide doesn't work also. No problems hiding Photoshop.

You will have to contact customer service and they will have to deactivate from their end and that should do it. You might be able to figure out a way but in this case a simple phone call is probably the best way and will save you hard ache.

  • Can't save illustrator cs3

    I can't save illustrator CS3 in my Toshiba Satellite laptop P4(M) 1.7 GHz with memory 1.5GB under Window XP Service Park 2 (Home Addition) and alot of HD free space. When I save CS3, can't save illustrator CS3 error massage dialog box appear. Follow are I can read from that error massage window.
    AppName: illustrator.exe
    AppVer: 13.0.128.0
    ModName: agm.dll
    ModVer: 4.17.26.1
    Offset: 002d3fa0

    Mmh, yeah, sounds familiar but for the life of it I cannot reme,ber the solution. I believe it's documented in the knowledgebase on the support pages and hinges on some VersionCue stuff being wrong. Other than that I could only imagine Acrobat Quick Launcher or Windows own preview generating functions having a hold of the file, when you save it as PDF compatible...

  • Can't open Illustrator CS3, was fine before

    All CS3 apps working fine for the last few years, except that all of a sudden I can't open Illustrator. Gives me FOConversion Suite plugin missing and quits. When I go to the folder, I've noticed this file is 0 bytes. How did this happen? More importantly, how to fix it? I read and read and can't find solution. I renamed so far preferences folder (Illustrator created new one on next (also failed) startup; I made sure that fonts Segua UI and tahoma are installed and working, and I have working, updated anti-virus. What can I do to fix/replace foconversionsuite.aip file? Operating system is Windows 7 64-bit.

    I found backup of my files and copied over empty file. It works fine now.

  • Can't deactivate Illustrator CS3

    I'm having major problems with my Dual 1 GHz PowerPc G4 computer, I believe the drive is going bad. I bought a brand new Mac Mini and am trying to install Illustrator CS3 on it. Once installed on the Mini it asks me to deactivate on the old computer. When I try to deactivate by running AI I get a message that says Licensing for this product has stopped! You cannot use this product. It tells me to uninstall CS3 and then reinstall it. When I try to uninstall from adobe installer application I get a warning that there's a java script alert- installer data base invalid. How do I get this program to work on my Mac Mini? I have all of my original illustrator disks and serial numbers going back to 1990. Why do I have to jump through all of these hoops? Is there any way to get CS3 to work?

  • Can't load Illustrator CS3

    Running Win XP SP3
    I've tried to load this from disk and also copied files to Desktop to try loading from there.
    I've also cleaned disk and the Disc Reader
    Installation appears to get 97% of the way through, then the load indicator does a couple of back flips on itself and brings up the following messages in the image below.
    If anyone can assist, it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    WK

    No clue. Your screenshot is still queued, so I can't see the message. Still, that aside, you can try a few things. If there are other Adobe apps currently on the system, get rid of them, including Acrobat/ Adobe Reader. Uninstall or use the CS3 Clean Script from the support page or the CS4 Clean Utility. Furthermore, use the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility to look for orphaned install entries. in addition, use CCCleaner or something similar to do some general housekeeping. Quite possible, that at some point directories are full and the install can't proceed. For more info, we'll have to wait for the pic to show up. You can also provide your installer log from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers. tThis may reveal some more details.

  • Can't Update Illustrator CS3 13.0.0

    I am trying to up date I-CS3 and I keep getting an error message.  It says it can't up date and I should reinstall the program.  I reinstalled it twice, almost an hour of disk swapping,  and I am still getting a message that it won't up date.
    Cheers!  Phil

    Thanks to the window to the right (which is a very nice features that searches for simular posts) - More Like This,  I found the following solution that worked.
    Go to MacHD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Installers, locate the {C4519961-AC64-4565-B3AF-9050296B5D5A}.patch file and delete it.
    On a Windows system, I found the file at C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers.
    Thanks.  cheers!  Phil

  • Can I run Illustrator CS3 on G4 with Jaguar OS?

    Looking to get the update, but noticed the system requirements were G4-G5 Leopard OS with 1GB RAM recommended.
    Just curious if anyone is running on G4 with Jaguar, or if G5 purchase would be needed (I'd rather purchase than upgrade my G4 with RAM and OS)?
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    You'd be better off getting the Mac Pro, bypassing the G5 altogether. You'd probably be able to run CS3 on your G4, but it would probably be slower than whatever you're using now. The Intel Macs are well suited to running the CS3 under Leopard. But a G4 running Jag will run into issues and speed is definitely one of them. I'm currently running Panther and Illus. 10 on my G4. When I venture into CS land, I'll probably spring for the latest Mac Pro with gobs of RAM ( 8gigs? ) and whatever OS is available when the time comes.

  • Trouble with Illustrator CS3

    Hi, I have an elderly computer which can only support Illustrator CS3 or earlier (i know, time for upgrade but no $).
    My toolbar has disappeared, can't work without it, and it's not "hidden" under the window.
    Any suggestions or help please?

    delphinium,
    It may be time for the list,.
    The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
    If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • Exporting Illustrator CS3 files to Illustrator CS2

    Can anyone tell me how I can "downsave" an Illustrator CS3 .eps file to be able to open it in Illustrator CS2? Thanks.

    You need to Save the CS3 file as a legacy version.
    Choose Save As, give it a name, click Save. On the next screen, choose CS2 from the drop down list at the top.
    Good luck!

  • Can you still Buy CS3 Illustrator

    Can you still buy CS3 Illustrator ??? If so does anyone have a recommended site to buy it from??
    For those who upgraded from CS2 to CS3 did you see any advantage??
    I am looking to upgrade in hopes of correcting several software errors.

    No officialy you cant buy CS3 annymore.
    But you still can buy CS4 i think and than you have CS5 for free.
    And yes CS3, 4 and 5 are way better than CS2. CS2 was the worst CS version there was even CS1 was better than CS2.

  • Can I use Hebrew fonts in Illustrator CS3?

    Can I use Hebrew fonts, which are loaded and enabled in Illustrator, CS3? Although they are listed in the Character palette, the Hebrew fonts appear at the bottom of the list enclosed in < > brackets. When I choose such a Hebrew font, the letters appear as blank rectangles in my document? Font Book says they are valid Truetype fonts. What's wrong?
    Thanks for any help.

    i found this info from this link: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3466307.  The user who asked this question stats this solution worked for them.
    First in Language and text preferences in the system preferences select Hebrew as the input method.
    The in Illustrator click the text tool in your document or drag to create a text frame.
    While the cursor is active select a hebrew font
    then go to the menu bar for the finder and where there is the American Flag pull it down and select hebrew
    now go back to the document and start typing.
    Remember if you do not have the ME version you have to have it flush right and type backwards.

  • Illustrator CS3 Hide/show Extensions

    Setting 'show all extensions' in Finder preferences DOES NOT deselect Hide Extensions in window when saving files Illustrator CS3 (an maybe other CS3 apps).
    Bug has been submitted to Adobe. (I'm sure it ain't the only one.)
    Mac MBP OS10.5.4
    :>) Ron

    Well, I suspect CS4 will address the issue. CS3 is fine with OS10.4.11, but the extension thing pops up under OS10.5. I think it's just a matter of what came first the chicken or the egg.

  • Can I upgrade from Illustrator CS3 to Cs5?

    Hi,
    I have an older version CS3 pack education version; I am using illustrator and photoshop; my question is, can I upgrade illustrator and photoshop CS3 to CS5 or CS5.5 directly and skip the version CS4 in the middle?  Thanks.

    Educational versions are not eligible for ANY upgrade. (Read the license) So, no.
    If you had the commercial version you could skip CS4 and jump straight to CS5, yes.
    Realize Adobe no longer sells anything prior to CS6, upgrade or otherwise.

  • Illustrator CS3 can't open eps files

    I can't seem open any eps files. It won't open in Photoshop either. Both of them I get this message: "Parser module cannot parse the file."
    Am I missing a vital component to install in CS3?

    Some research solved my issue. Need to create a registry entry for Illustrator CS3 (v13) in the eps file extension section of the windows 7 registry.
    1. Navigate to:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.eps\OpenWit hProgids
    2. Create a new "binary value" key called "Adobe.Illustrator.13" (leave the value blank).
    That's it. CS3 is now a valid choice for eps files. Hope this helps anyone who has the same issue.
