Can't hook up my yahoo account

Help--- I just got my iPod touch yesterday and it was great! My email was working fine... now i haven't changed any settings but now it says it can't connect to my yahoo account. So when i tried to reset it, it said that the account verification failed. It was working fine yesterday and i haven't changed any of the settings please help me

screw it i just forwaded my messages from my yahoo to my gmail

When I sync my iPhone 4 with my computer, it says it can't sync with my Yahoo account (as it has been for the past year) because I don't have an internet connection. OK, sounds like you are using Yahoo to store your contacts. If you're having a problem with this, it is highly likely it is on Yahoo's end since they often have server issues, but two things you can try:
If you're currently on wi-fi, turn that off and see if you can access your contacts via 3G.
Try deleting the Yahoo account off your iPhone and re-create it.
Last week my Yahoo account was acting buggy and didn't get resolved until I did both (turned off wi-fi, then deleted and re-created the account over 3G).

Can't login to my yahoo account

When trying to get mail from 1 yahoo account I get a login failed message. After several retries, a error message pops up:
Server [email protected] has disconnected. The server may have gone down or there may be a network problem.
Reentering the password results in the same error message. My other yahoo email works fine. I changed both email passwords about a month ago, no problems til now.
I can login fine using my browser, so I know the password is correct.
This has been happening for a couple of days now. It's happened a few times before, but always started working again and I'm hoping it's just temporary.
I'm on Windows 8.1 Update, using latest Thunderbird version

Empathy 3.8.1 can't add AIM or Yahoo accounts

Empathy can access accounts that are added through Gnome online accounts, but cannot add AIM or Yahoo accounts. Once I put in the required info and hit "login" nothing happens. All of telepathy is installed. Any ideas?

Seems to be a problem with telepathy-haze, which add libpurple accounts support.
In the second post, jesusjimenez says that the last updtates of telepathy-haze and telepathy-glib solves his problem, but that doesn't work for me. I just try to create another user, to have a fresh config, that doesn't change anything, so the problem is not in user config.
I don't understand why it works in his case and not in mine…

Mail can not receive messages from yahoo account

last year I bought my first Appler computer and it was a good decision . I use the mail application and addes 2 email accounts. One yahoo email account and one t-online email account. It works very well until september ... Since september I can't receive new messages from my yahoo account.
I tried different things I read in this forum. For example to delete the file com.apple.mail.list in library/preferences and start the mail application. I create a new account for yahoo. Mail read the only 49 messages from the total 84 messages. If I look at the account information within the mail application it shows all 84 messages from the yahoo account.
I also use opera as an other internet browser and the embedded email client. Opera receive my emails from the yahoo acount.
There are any other suggestions to solve my problem ?

I'm having the same problem too. I think it's an issue on Yahoo's end because whenever I can't retrieve message on the POP server, I also can't login to Yahoo on Adium Messenger. Yahoo has a history of this happening, but never for days on end. I think the solution is to set your Yahoo mail to forward to Gmail and be done with it.

I can log onto my yahoo mail and messenger account but when I receive an IM from someone, Firefox tries to download the pop-up sound for the IM window, but the window itself does not appear!!!

I have clicked that I have the same problem. I am guessing that the question I have posted goes along the same route, except I use tabs within the Messenger part rather than the window.

Hi, I can receive emails on my yahoo account;read them and so on,but cannot reply to them.A message comes which states that they are trying to re-load the original mail ,but fail to.I went into the yahoo help page and was told if it worked on a different browser the fault lay with firefox (my default browser).It worked on Internet explorer ,which I hardly ever use.The problem first occurred yesterday ,no idea why.

I frequently receive a notice from Mail that it "can't connect" to my yahoo mail account, despite the fact that I can receive mail from that account. The banner appears with my coded password highlighted and asks me to choose 'cancel' or 'ok'.

I can open Mail and see that all accounts are online. I get the banner SEVERAL time during a session - very annoying!

Email won't take my password from yahoo account

I just made a new yahoo password and unsynced my account and resynced with apple email client and my password still doesn't work, says it's incorrect? How do I fix this?

First verify that you can still login to your yahoo account using Safari web mail interface (to make sure that the password is indeed what you think it is, i.e., that you didn't fat-finger it when you changed it)
Quit Mail if it is running then navigate to your /Applications/Utilities folder and launch Keychain Access. Select the login keychain and passwords category. Find all items associated with your yahoo password and delete them.
Quit Keychain Access and relaunch Mail. You will be prompted for your passwords one more time. Enter them and check the checkboxes to remember them. Subsequent launches of Mail shouldn't ask you anymore...hopefully.

IPhone 3GS emailing videos using my yahoo account seem to never send?

When I send videos created on my iPhone 20-30 second videos (small) I can not use my default yahoo account to send the file, they get stuck. I even pay yahoo $20 a year for "mail plus" feature for extra services.
I have had to setup my "cox" mail account and select that account to send videos, my cox account seems to send the videos (although very slow process even on wifi)
Anybody have this issue, seems it would be a yahoo "issue", and not a iPhone hardware or software issue, hence I have found a "work-around" with the cox account???

Can't send email from my Mac Book Air using my Yahoo account!

I have set up my Yahoo account on my Mac Book Air but I am unable to send mail using Yahoo. The message goes to the outbox on the Mac but is not received by the recipient. It does not go to the sent box in Yahoo. Can anyone help with this please?

Go to mail preferences>accounts, make sure your outgoing server (SMTP) is set to the right network, not none.

Use the yahoo app instead. Yahoo email has also been an issue.

Iphone 4 automatically sending nuisance/ viral e-mail messages from my yahoo account to members of my phone/ e-mail/ facebook contact list. What can I do to stop this?

This has occurred on 2 different occassions. In both cases, I can not identify a viral email that I would have opened that could have started this as we are very cautious about opening unknown emails, and definately NEVER double click on links that come through in nuisance/ spam type e-mails.
This morning was the second time that it appears my iphone was somehow involved in automatically sending out a mass nuisance message to all my contacts (phone contacts/ facebook contacts/ yahoo contacts). The email contained no message - except for a single link to an unknown destination of course since I refuse to dbl click on it to see what I have sent out to my friends.
This is the second time it has happened. I have posted on facebook to all my friends to not open the message. I have deleted ALL my contacts from both my phone and from yahoo contact list. I even deleted facebook and all it's info. from my phone to remove their contact lists. I don't want this to keep happening to my friends. The only thing I haven't deleted is my phone contacts (phone numbers) but I am assuming it may very well happen again since the automatic message was also sent to my phone contacts. (Not sure how that even happens - an auto email to a phone number?)
I have been reading on this site that it is nearly impossible to get a virus on your iphone - however, what other explanation is there? I don't have a PC - I don't have any Windows products in my home. We own 1 ipad and 2 iphones at the moment. I never access my yahoo account from anywhere but my MAC products. What is happening and how can it be resolved?

if it's a message coming from your yahoo account, it means that your account has been compromised, not your phone itself. i would suggest changing the password for your email account

I need to reset my Apple ID (a Yahoo account). My problem is the Yahoo account is disabled and can't be recovered and I don't remember the answers to the security questions. How can I reset my password?

I had to reset my IPhone device to the factory setting, but when I wanted to start using the IPhone, it requires the original Apple ID which I do not recall the password. I tried to reset the password by receiving it through my Yahoo account (Apple ID) I found out that the email has been disabled due to the long period I didn't use it and can not be recovered moreover I do not remember the answers to the security questions.
I need help on how to reset my Apple ID password as I cant not use my IPhone any more.
