so when ever i try to attach a file from pages to my email to send it it doesn't work.. it says 1k and attachment failed ..

In reality, Pages v5.2.2 is a directory with files in it, not the appearance of a single document that the Finder presents as a user friendly gesture. In order to send a Pages v5.2.2 directory, as a single document that Gmail will permit, you must right-click on the Pages document, and from the contextual menu, choose compress. Now, you effectively have a compressed directory with a zip extension added to your original filename. Gmail and dropbox can now deal with it.
To unzip that Pages document, you only need to double-click on it in the Mac Finder. In Apple Mail, you can use Quick Look on the attachment, and ask Quick Look to unzip it for you and view in Pages v5.2.2.

The acsm file is not the book, it is a ticket to get the book. I sometimes get library books online, here is what I do.
1. Start ADE on the computer
2. Go to library website and find the book I want to download.
3. Click on the download link
4. In windows 7 a box opens asking whether I want to open( or run) or save the acsm file
5. Click open/run and ADE downloads the book into the "Library"
6. Transfer the book (epub file) to the reader.

Can't download multiple files from page without refresh with Safari

Safari 5.1 on imac osx 10.6.8. Just downloaded 5.1 and now I can't download more than 1 file at a time without refreshing the page (or paging back, then forward again) for each download. What is going on? How do i fix this?

Quit Safari.
Open a Finder window select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left. Then open the Library folder, then the Caches folder, then the com.apple.Safari folder.
Move the cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari. Try Downloads.

You can email them to yourself and then open them in Pages by using the "open in" option in the mail app when you are viewing the attachment, you can use DropBox, or you can use iOS file sharing.
Connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Click on your iPad's name on the left side of iTunes under "Devices" in order to select it. Click on the Apps Tab in the iTunes window on the right. Find the Pages App in the list of File Sharing apps under the main list of apps and click on it. Then drag the files from your desktop that you want to move into the document sharing window on the right - next to the the Pages app. You can also use the Add button and navigate to the documents that way to select them. Sync your iPad if you choose to do so and then eject it when the sync completes.
Launch the Pages app and then click on the + in the upper left corner to add a document. Select - Copy from iTunes and a window will pop up with a list of all of the documents that you dragged into the window on the computer when the iPad was connected to iTunes. Select the document from there.

My backend is only for admin, so they are the only ones who can access the

While I was transferring photos back and forth from a thumb drive something went haywire and my IPhoto was wiped clean! When I click on Time Machine I see all the dated pages (without an external storage drive connected), go back to a date where all my photo files are there, click "restore", and I get the message: "The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in file cant be read or written (error code - 36)"

Unable to upload files from local computer to remote server (Was: Dreamweaver)

I have lost the connection between the remote location and the local location for files on my computer. Where to I correct this issues, since I cannot upload files from local to remote. Host server from server to my computer works fine, Running Dell computerr XP operating system with CS3 Dreamweaver. Need all the help I can get.

hi, yesterday discover article from otn about uploading file from clients filesystem to web application server.
but how about uploading from clients filesystem directly into database column? (i'm talking about forms application via web server, btw, not c/s app)
i've search through the archieve, but cant find anything useful, just alot of similar question with no useful answer. so i guess alot of people could use this feature, if it can be done.

Regardless of application, the first step that I take is to save and name the current document — even if it has no content yet. With Pages, this good habit enables autosave. As you add content, your document revision history is restorable via the File Revert To menu. The delete key has the same document foreboding as only teaching a pet raven to speak "Nevermore."
