Can't I use nvraid without APIC on my MSI k8n neo2?

I have a Windows XP installation without ACPI (Why would I want that?, you may ask.) The reason is that  it's a music production oriented installation, and I found that my soundcard performs much better with ACPI off.
Well, I got 2 sata drives and set then up as raid 0, and although they work great in my standard Windows XP with ACPI on, with this one (with ACPI off) I can't make windows recognize the raid.
Could someone please confirm me if it's impossible to use sata 3 and 4 ports set up as raid0 without ACPI?
Thanks.

You have to create an Apple ID a specific way to use it without a credit card. The one you have created now, cannot be changed to not have a credit card. See this support document. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534

Bluegrassbarry you can download and install Illustrator CS6 from Download CS6 products.   Do you currently have a Creative Cloud Membership?  If not then I would recommend upgrading your operating system prior to subscribing.  You can find the system requirements for Creative Cloud at System requirements | Creative Cloud.

  • Can I program using Labview without HW from NI?

I am a newbie about LV. So I ask the simple question:
Can I program using Labview without HW from NI?

You can not only program in LabVIEW without hardware from NI, but you can program without hardware period. You can also write programs for other brands of hardware. You can even program for NI hardware with other programming languages.
Get some training, and a copy of "LabVIEW for Everyone" before you get too far. These are great resources for learning LabVIEW.

This happens soon as the cd starts to read the files/installing files after format.
I haven't been able at all to install Windows successfully (I don't even get to windows).
My system is listed above and as you can see I have tried with 2 different graphic cards,  2 different rams and with/without the booster, with/without the soundcard, 3 different dvdplayers and 3 different Windows XP Pro.
Och and yes I have tried the hardware (except mb & cpu, don't have another Amd 64 mb or cpu) in an another computer and they work fine.
    Nothing works.
Could it be that the mb that is bad or?

  • How can I start using IPad without first syncing with my computer?

I'm out of town and just bought a new IPad2.  I don't have my computer with me and won't be able to use it for another 2 weeks.  How can I start using my IPad before syncing with my computer?

You must activate it by syncing it to iTunes on a computer. An Apple Store can do it for you - or anybody with a computer that meets the minimum requirements and has iTunes 10.2 on it can activate it for you.
If you have someone else activate it, bear in mind that when you do finally sync to your computer, iTunes is going to tell you that all content will be erased because you already set it up on another computer with another iTunes library. Your iPad will sync to one iTunes library only. That is way they are designed to perform.
You CAN transfer any purchases that you make on the iPad to your iTunes library when you perform your first sync with your own computer, however, and I would strongly suggest that you do that when you get the chance.
If you do set it up with another computer, I would keep the purchases and downloads to a minimum so that keeping all of your data is not a big problem when you finally sync to your own PC.

  • MOVED: Using 4xsata drives with MSI K8N NEO2

This topic has been moved to AMD64 nVidia Based board.
    Using 4xsata drives with MSI K8N NEO2

    Hi , yes unfortunately it's true !
Sata ports 3/4 is the fully nforce3 native chipset integrated (uses nvidia integrated PHY).
Use only theese if overclocking .
Satallink clock will be retained at 100mhz always .
Sata ports 1/2 are bridged from the nvidia chipset to an external marvell PHY .
Theese ones can not be used with HTT ref clock beyond ~230mhz +/- a few mhz without producing data corruption .
Satalink ref clock of 100mhz will scale upwards with increased HTT .
This issue applies to all nforce3 250GB/Ultra based motherboards with more than 2 sata ports regardless which vendor/make/model.
It's the chosen hw design that is the issue and no bios ever will fix it .
If you must have 4 sata drives , do like me and install a pci SIL sata controller card for the drives used for storage .
Take Abit NF8 (nf3) as an example .It has only 2 sata ports .
    Why ?
Only the true/fully chipset integrated sata ports is used .
Although the nforce3 chipset supports a sata link to an external PHY for port 3 and upwards some has chosen to not utilize it .
Nforce 4 chipset has corrected this hw design by adding more sataport by the link to external phy .
In nf4 four ports are fully/true chipset integrated , and does not suffer from this overclock barrier .

  • Using 4xsata drives with MSI K8N NEO2

    Hi to all
am planning on building a system in the next couple of weeks with the msi neo2 m/board but have heard a few rumours regarding the sata controllers. I plan to incorporate an opteron 146 and 2xballistic pc4000 as well as four sata drives but have heard that I should not use 2 of the sata connectors on the board (which ones?) if wish to overclock as my data could be corrupted (dont plan to RAID).
Could someone please confirm if this is in fact true and whether a BIOS update would remedy it or infact if their is any cure.
    Cheers

  • How to SET or Configure BIOS to use XFX6200 TC video card for MSI K8N NEO4 Plat.

    Hello Friends,
Can any body help me to the following problem?
I am having XFX 6200 TC Geforce / nvidia Grafix card for my MSI K8N NEO4 Platinum Ultra board.
The BIOS states PCIE clock speed as 100 Mhz as default.  The setting can be changed upto 145Mhz.
My Video card can be configured upto 350 Mhz.  How to do this and which is the right way to use the display card with optimum setting?
Thanks for all those who reply to this.

    the coolbits link http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=815
to manually set the clocks on the graphic card, after installing coolbits, just follow the instruction on that page:
    Quote
Unpack the achive (self extracting) and then in the setup directory simply click on the .reg file. To get to these options simply right-click on your desktop and go to 'NVIDIA Analog Display' (Win XP/2003). For Win 2000 and lower you may need to get to the Nvidia Control Panel the old way. Right click desktop > Properties > Settings > Advanced > GeForce xxxx
for overclocking just take a look at the overclocking sections of the forum. make sure to read the stickies before you do anything.

  • Can anyone help me sort out the audio on my k8n neo2

Audio has never been one of my strong points so im stuck trying to get the onboard sound on my k8n neo2 board to work properly. The case i have has front connections for  headphones and another for microphone. Ive managed to get the front headphone jack to work i havnt got a mic so i cant try that. I have tried connecting my stereo speakers (part of my monitor) to the line out at rear (green jack plug) , i notice in the msi sound manager they refer to this connector as front speaker out. I had no sound at all until i came across aforesaid msi sound manager, the only way i can get sound is by going into this manager and selecting "speaker configuration" and either selecting 8 or 6 channel which i havnt got but at least i can hear a cd when its playing. The problem with this is that when i boot into windows there is no sound played. I have noticed in the mobo manual page E-2-20 under msi reminds you.. If you dont want to connect to the front audio header (JAUD1), pins 5&6, 9&10 have to be jumpered in order to have signal output directed to rear audio audio ports. Otherwise the line-out connector on back panel will not function. Wonder if this has something to do with it. I encclose an image showing the relevant mobo page with connection instructions and the wiring of front panel jacks from my case instructions.
on the JAUD1 pins 6 and 10 audio signal returns for right and left channel  but my case wiring only had a single return in the form of the shield braid so i split it in two and connected to pins 6&10 to see if this would cure the no sound problem, it didnt. Just hoping the image is big enough for people to read. Hope someone can help with this.

Well lets see if I can help.
    Connect like this:
    Red---->Aud_fpout_L
    Jump with Red---->Aud_ret_L
    White---->Aud_fpout_R
    Jump with white---->Aud_ret_R
I think is... Spiral---->Aud_gnd this you have to share with the mic that is also Spiral
As for the mic .... MIC power---->Aud_mic_bias
    MIC-IN---->AUD_mic
    And I think that's it....
    Be well....

  • Can i 'open using photoshop' without creating another image in LR

I'm working with RAW files imported into LR 3.2
I swear that in an earlier version of LR - when I did 'open with photoshop' a corresponding Tiff file was not created in LR unless the image was saved in Photoshop.
I'm sure it used to work along these lines...
Open with PS, start to edit in photoshop - then decide not to continue - exit photoshop without saving. Tiff not created in LR.
Open with PS, start to edit in photoshop - Ctrl+S in Potoshop (or save on exit, etc). Tiff was created in LR.
anyway- that's the methodology I want.... can I have it?
[I know that I can 'export' as a Tiff, but thats not the option I want. I only want files opened with PS, from LR, to save in LR if saved in PS]
    SS

    I never use bridge..but,
If i browse to a folder with a raw file (I use DNG) and right click, open with CS5 - adobe CR6.3 and CS5 fire up.
In LR i import from camera, as DNG files.
If I use the edit with CS5 command, PSCS5 fires up but the image never shows in CS5, a corresponding Tiff is not created in LR. [This is an unresolved issue from some time ago, I've deleted preferences files etc..but cannot get transfer from LR to CS5 using 'edit with CS5']
To overcome this i have CS5 set up as second external editor - having pointed it to where CS5 is installed]
So. I have the DNG files in LR3.3.
Right Click - Edit in photoshope.exe (manually pointed as discussed above)
Dialog box 'what to edit' opens - choice of open a copy with LR adjustements is the only choice. Can selecte file size etc.
irrespective of whether 'stack with original' is selected - a Tiff file is genrated in LR, and CS5 fires up with the Tiff file open.
Saving in CS5 results in the file in LR being updated to match.
As earlier - I only want a Tiff created in LR, if I decide to save the Tiff from CS5.
    thanks for help so far.

  • How can I re use titles without effecting the original title?

Im new to Premiere pro CS5  was originaly an Avid user and I'm currently working on a sequence  where i use a lot of titles for lower thirds and I have added keyframes to the titles to animate them in and out of the screen ,  in avid instead of recreating titles every time, i copy and paste the title and just change the name of the title but in Premiere everytime i change the title it changes all of the the titles from where i copied it from. do i always have to recreate titles in premiere pro or is there a way i can re use an existing title copy and paste it  without effecting the original title? help.

Open up the original title and click on the 'New Title Based on Current Title' button (A film frame with a T in it). This will then ask you to give it a new name. If you have effects on your first title just copy it and 'Paste Attributes' to the new title.

  • Can two people use Mail without reading the others persons email?

We have moved from Windows 7 & office 2010 to an IMAC.
We both used Outlook and it was set up to ask for a profile to use so my wife and i could share the same program but in theory not have access to the other emails.
is this option available on mail?
    regards

Also, turn on Fast User Switching in the Accounts System prefs. That will put a menu item in the Status bar area, next to spotlight. You can use that to switch between accounts. You won't have to log out of one account to go to the other.
When you are done using your account, you can select the Login Window from that menu and it will go to the login screen--but you won't have logged out. When you go back to your account, it will be just as you left it.

  • Why can't I use S-ATA ports 3&4 simultaniously?

    Hey!
I have been having a problem ever since I got my new Seagate 250GB S-ATA HDD (with NCQ if that makes any differance)... The thing is that I've had a Segate 160GB S-ATA HDD for a while, that I have Windows XP and everything installed on, and now wanted to get some more space for stuff. The old 160GB S-ATA has been connected to S-ATA port 3 on my MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum, since ports 3 and 4 are the only two that works when you overclock. I then connected my new 250GB HDD to port 4 and started up the computer, and made sure it booted from the correct HDD (the 160GB one). But just when the XP logo started fading in when windows was about to start loading the computer froze....I tried again and the same thing happened. So I tried my 160GB HDD on port 4 just to make sure that the port worked, and it did...everything loaded just as usual. I then tried to connect the 250GB HDD to port 3 instead, and the 160GB HDD to port 4...but the same thing happened when windows started loadning, it just froze.
So...I tried to go back to stock frequencies on everything, but that didn't help either. After that, since I hade stock frequencies, I connected the two HDDs to port 1 & 2....and then tried loadning windows...and this time everything worked.
But surely it can't be meant to be that way that you can't use only ports 3 and 4....? I mean, if so, this motherboard is totally worthless to anyone who wants to overclock, even the slightest, and want to be able to use more than one S-ATA HDD... And the strangest thing with all this is that both port 3 and port 4 works perfectly...just as long as I only use one at a time.
Please tell me there is a setting somewhere or something that I must change in BIOS or something. And oh, I've tried both BIOS v 1.4 (the on it came with) and 1.5 (the latest).
Any help would be greatly apreciated!

Have just been browsing around try enabling raiid & putting your new drive on it as a single drive. see if that helps anything. if not try loading the raid drivers in windows should be ok from Nvidia unified drivers. 5.10. The drivers are in the ide folder.
Seen a few posts in other forums of pps with sata problems + this Re: How to install Windows on SATA using F6 to load Drivers see the Quote

my cpu is watercooled with 1.7v goign to it, and 2.85 volts to the ram.  I measured the +12v rail during Prime 95 in Priority 10 mode and it was 11.74-11.75, so psu isn't the problem right?
