Can't imessage another ipad

Suddenly can't imessage my daughter's iphone... Uses sms as if it were another phone other than Iphone. Also can't imessage her on ipad. At all. And all my messages are green to her. I can imessage other iphones and bubble is blue as it should be. Help

Make sure you have their icloud email they use for imessage in their contact information before sending them an imessage.

IMessages works only with other iOS devices and Mac computers running Mountain Lion or Mavericks.
You can add an iPhone number to use as your contact address as long as the phone number is associated with your Apple ID. Settings> Messages>Send & Receive at>Yoy can be reached by iMessages at.
If your phone number is not showing in that settings, sign out of Messages on the iPhone and the iPad Mini, then sign in again on the phone first and then the number should be accessible for you to use on the iPad.

Can I iMessage to iPad to iPad if I own both of them?

I had purchased to iPads one first gen and then second gen, both are registered with me email address and both are 3G Wifi , iMessage will not let me sent a message from one to the other or I'm not doing it right.
Please help!! My wife will carry one and the other I have but both snyc with my iMAC and Mac Book Pro, using my email account or icloud.

You cannot. Basically what you are trying to do is send a text message to yourself, since both iPads have the same Apple ID (email address). If your wife is going to have one, I would send a text to her Apple ID (she can make one if she doesn't have one: http://appleid.apple.com), and have her sign in on her iPad first.

Okay, I figured out that Windows has "AutoPlay" settings which can automatically download photos and videos from a newly connected device, such as an iPad Mini. I think I could open it in Windows Explorer too that way but the auto download solved my problem.

I have tried resetting and erasing all settings and data on the one I still have, but when I go to restore by iCloud; it only gives me the choice of restoring the same iPad. Then in iCloud>storage>backup, I'm still not able to choose which backup to backup to. I've even tried deleting the backup to the iPad I still have, then resetting all setting and data on the iPad, hoping that in resetting up the iPad it would give me the option to backup to my old iPad. But it doesn't. It still has memory of the backup of my newer iPad.

1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPad but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPad with it.

You don't transfer Apple ID's from one device to another one. You sign out in the settings, )the App Store and iTunes if necessary) and then sign in with the other ID.
Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID>Sign out. Them sign in with the other ID. You can sign out of the app store and iTunes as well by going to the featured Atab in the App Store and the music tab in iTunes, swipe to the bottom and access the Apple ID in there.
You should have erased the iOad before you gave it to her in Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings. That way she could set up the iPad as new with her own Apple ID.
Be aware of the fact that if you use each others ID's in order to download past purchased content to your own iPads, you will lock yourself out of your own ID as you will have associated your iPad with the other person's Apple ID.
In other words, if you sign into your wife's ID on your iPad so that you can download an app or an album so that you don't have to pay for it again, you will lock yourself out of your Apple ID for 90 days.

There is no way to connect two iPads to each other through a cable. Everything would have to be wireless or you would have to use iTunes to move data around.

It is true that you can "return" app licenses to Apple Configurator and redistribute that license to another iPad. The key is that both iPads must be "Supervised" in order to return the app license. See this from Apple:
Removing apps from devices
If you use Apple Configurator to remove a redeemed VPP app from a supervised device, Apple Configurator marks the corresponding redemption code as available. It can be reassigned to a different device supervised by this copy of Apple Configurator for this Mac only. It is not available for redemption by other Macs or iOS devices.
If you unsupervise a supervised device, all apps will be removed from the device and the redemption codes used to install those apps will be marked available for reassignment. If you simply remove a device record from Apple Configurator, the redemption codes for any apps on that device will not be available for reassignment.

Depends on how big the file is. If itis only a couple of pages, or mostly text, the easiest way would be to e mail it. If it is a very large file you are going to need wifi. Take both pads to starbucks, and e mail it from there. Or if you have wifi, use drop box, for example.
Your other choice, avoiding wifi would be a bluetooth type transfer. There is an app call bluetooth file lite that reads like it will do what you need. The good news is it is free. The bad news is that it has terrible ratings. For grins, i am installing it now on a pad and a phone, and will see if it works.
With a bluetooth method, you need both devices in the same place. If you are trying to send your file across country, bluetooth will not work for you. you need e mail or drop box type solution, and if the file is big, you will almost certainly need wifi.
