Can't import an email pdf pic file to iphoto, how do I fix it

I want to print some emailed pics but iPhoto will not recognize the pdf file. I tried preview and it printed a larger picture then 4x6 like I requested. I have not used pdf's so this part is new to me. Old Toad, you have given me answers before, maybe you can give me another answer.

iPhoto does not recognize pdfs. But you can open the file in Preview and then do a Save As, selecting jpg as your formate and the highest quality available. Then import the jpg into iPhoto to use.

Do you have another browser installed, I wouldn't usually advise another browser but it is kind of necessary to assess whether there is a problem with Firefox or Gmail.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on seven different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary from version to version and OS to OS. So before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
- Did it ever work properly?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.

The only way I know of to import cells from a csv file is by creating a new file. But then you can select the desired cells and copy them to the other file. I just did it to be sure it works.
1. Create the new spreadsheet file via the upload command.
2. Select the cells (table) that you want to move to the other file and press command+C (copy).
3. Close the new file and open the existing file.
4. Select the top/right cell of the area to receive the copied "table" and press commant+V (paste).

For your addressbook, export the files to vCard on the PowerMac, then bring them over to your Mac Pro. For your iPhoto, copy the Users -> yourname -> Pictures folder to your Desktop on the Mac Pro, and open iPhoto on the Mac Pro holding the command and option keys. Select the library file from that Pictures folder and open it. It should import all the pictures into iPhoto as part of the rebuild process. I also have the exact same issue. New IMac, installed LR, imported approximately 900 photos no problem, across the network from a Windows PC. The import stopped when the network connection was lost. Now I cannot import for the same reason "could not copy a file to the requested location". I have plenty of disk space and i have permission to the needed folders. I'm surprised you get no message when you attempt opening the Excel document in Numbers.
I'm assuming Numbers 3.1, since you are running Mavericks.
Does the Numbers file that opens show any content?
Does it contain a table?
How large?
Does it contain more than one tab (indicating more than one sheet)?
Do those other tabs contain a table?
Have you checked those tables for data content?
There have been cases in the past of imported documents opening with white text on a white background, giving the appearance of containing nothing. Check for this by selecting a block of cells, then applying a Fill colour or a Text colour using the Format button (paintbrush).
I'd also suggest attempting to open the Excel files using LibreOffice, which can be downloaded from the linked website.

I may not be clear on what you are asking here but I'll try an answer anyway since that's the type of guy I am.
If you have PDF files on your old computer, you will need to transfer them to your new computer. You can use a flash drive or CD if needed.
But again, I think I'm not getting what you are really wanting to know. If I'm not, can you give us some more details?

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Read again - the word "import" does not appear in either answeer - you never ever import one iPhoto library into another one
books do not actually exist - they are simply database entries - so you have to move the entire iphoto library
1 - rename it on the source machine
2 - Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc) or use an external hard drive formatted Mac OS extended (journaled)
3 - drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac
4 - depress the opeion key and launch iPhoto on the new mac
5 - select the library with the book, convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward

If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
