Can't import archives

Hi,
For the last little while I've been using the archiving feature of FCPX and am now trying to access them... but failing. I have checked a few importing archives aritcles but they refer to the "Import from Camera" buttom which seems to ahve disappeared in my updated version of FCPX?
In the import window, there is a title "camera archives" but nothing is under it. I can navigate to where the archives are in the import window but they are all greyed out and so can't access them.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you moved the archives? They have to be in the Final Cut Camera Archives folder.

  • I can't import archived .m4a files

    Years ago, I had an iTunes library that consisted of Apple Lossless files only. I had ripped most of my music collection in that format. It got to the point where I ran out of disc space, and to finish ripping my CD library in it's entirety, I needed to convert everything to .mp3. Before doing so, I backed up all of the .m4a files to DVD.
    Having recently upgraded my entire computer system, I have much more hard disc space available (320 GB internal drive and a 1 TB external), and would like to re-import the .m4a files from my DVD archives. I'm finding that I'm unable to do so. I've tried to drag and drop, and have also tried using the "import" command from the file menu, to no avail.
    As a side note, as the archived m4a files appear in the finder, they have a different icon preview than what I'm used to seeing. Is this a permissions issue? Is there a work around?
    All the archived files are from CD's I own that I ripped myself. I could rip again I suppose, but that's a dreadfully time consuming process (I'm talking about some 500 odd CD's!). Please help!

    That's exactly what I did, and for some mysterious reason I can't copy them from the backup DVD's into iTunes. Viewing the contents of the backup DVDs, the music files all appear with the correct names and file extensions, although with a different icon preview than I'm used to. I don't have the ability to preview (or rather pre-listen) to them from within the Finder, and when I attempt to drag and drop them into iTunes, although the green plus sign does appear as it normally would, once I "drop" the files, nothing else happens.
    I wonder if I'm dealing with corrupted files.

  • HELP! Can't import archived mail from Apple Mail

    I just moved up to a VERY nice MacPro. I archived mail on my G5. When I go to import it into Mail on my VNMP, it refuses to import. No real explanation, just says it couldn't import. Huh? Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Thanks

    Hi Ann,
    I know Flip4Mac has updated the plugin, but it still
    could be causing you the problem.
    Navigate to HD/Library/Quicktime
    Drag the Flip4Mac component to the desktop and
    restart the Mac.
    See if that makes any difference.
    That was the problem. I can import video into iMovie from iPhoto again. So...now the Flip4Mac components are sitting on my desktop. Do I uninstall Flip4Mac? Or is there another option for using it without messing up my iMovie software?
    Thanks for the help!

  • TS3634 Can't import archives to iMovie

    I archived camcorder to external hard drive, but when I try and use the Import from Camera Archives, the files are greyed out and I get a message "Folder is not a camera archive""

    Thank you! More than a year later with iMovie'11 (latest version 9.0.9) still exactly the same problem!! Just after archiving 16GB of camera files, I tried to import those files to make sure before deleting them. Whatever folder I tried to select within the archived hierarchy, the warning 'Folder is not a camera archive' appeared. (Rem.: all sub folders were not grayed out until the actual files it contains). Tried the solution 'restart iMovie' and suddenly during 'import from camera archive', selecting the same top folder grayed out all sub-folders and hitting 'import' worked as expected (as if camera is connected).
    Thank you!
    Paul
    P.S.: reason why I use 'archive' is because for one reason or another, when using 'import' within iMovie all video files, which are already large enough when shooting HD, become suddenly 3 times bigger!! (1 sec footage of 2.8MB becomes more than 9MB; 1 hour footage 10.2GB becomes more than 34GB!!) But then I suppose I will have to search why in other threads

  • Can't import archives to iMovie

    I archived camcorder to external hard drive, but when I try and use the Import from Camera Archives, the files are greyed out and I get a message "Folder is not a camera archive""

    I was just trying to troubleshoot this problem and restarting iMovie worked for me.  You've likely tried this, but I spent an hour searching for answers first.  How frustrating.
    I had imported directly from my camera first, then tried to import from archive and it failed.  Restarting iMovie then going straight to the "Import from Archive" worked for me.
    Good luck.

    What is main diff b/w imported Archives and External Defination in IR

    Hi Vijay,
    ED-standard schema for describing the message structure.If you have the structure provided to you from some external application you can use it in PI directly without recreating in PI.you can import following formats which are used to describe message schema
    WSDL (Web Service Description Language),
    XSD (XML Schema Definition Language),
    DTDs (Document Type Definitions)
    Imported Archives: its used basically for java and xslt mapping where you create the required mapping externally using some tools
    (java-eclipse/NWDS .XSLT-stylus studio).You can also implement XSLT and Java mappingsf and save them as archives in the Integration Repository.

  • Can somebody help me? Can't import videos that are already on my hard drive

    i'm not the most technologically adept person. When it comes to iTunes, i plain stupid.
    for some reason i can't import videos on my hard drive.
    they are set to open in iTunes and if i double click on them, iTunes comes up and switches to the video screen, but it does not show the name in the list or play the video or anything. It's driving me nuts. Especially since i was considering buying an iPod video in the near future. But theres no point in even bothering if i can't get the videos into iTunes!!! If you know how to help my situtation or have any good tips let me know!!

    You do not use the 'Import' function under the File Menu to import P2 card content because the video content is still in its native form. For example, my Panasonic HPX 171 produces .MXF video files (amongst all the other files and folders within the overall heirarchy).
    In order to access the copied P2 information you have to Log & Transfer it, as if it were a camera plugged into the computer. This process then converts the MXF P2 files into a Quicktime format that the Final Cut application can read and work with.
    Take note that when archiving a P2 card as you did it is imperative that ALL the other files and folders are copied and saved. In other words, the entire 'CONTENTS' folder. It is this 'CONTENTS' folder that you navigate to within Log & Transfer when you want to import to FCP.

  • Accessing a file in Imported Archive from Adapter module

    Hi,
    I am designing a module for File/FTP and Mail adapters. Is it possible to retrieve data from a CSV or TXT file uploaded in the Imported Archive from the Java code in the module? If this is possible, do I use the same approach as accessing the CSV data from the mapping using a UDF? If this is not possible, can you suggest other ways were I can access a CSV or TXT configuration file from an adapter module?
    I would like to avoid using Module key, Parameter name and Parameter value as I would like to make the adapter module generic and the data I will be reading might be too much to be specified in this location. However, I would use the Module key, Parameter name and Parameter value to specify the CSV or TXT filename which the adapter module will be using.
    Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.
    Regards,
    Elbert

    Imported archives are part of mapping flow and adapter modules are more part of routing. Therefore I don't think imported archive could  be made accessible anywhere outside mapping.
    but my CSV or TXT file would be updated regularly by the developer.
    So were you planning to import this file again and again under imported archive? This doesn't seems to be a good solution when you think about changin Design part in Production environment. It would be better to give access to certain folder to developer to put the file there and access it using some code. You may refer this

  • Imported Archive not visible

    Hi Guru,
    I have imported into XI a XSLT Mapping in IMPORTED ARCHIVE; now I have to use thi mapping in my Interface Mapping, but the imported Archive (the XSLT Mapping...) is not visible! How is it possible?
    Thanks to all!

    hi,
    1. Make sure that the XSLT program .zip or jar format.
    2. If the mapping program it' not showing then forceble you need to push your interface mapping.
      If the mapping program it is not showing mean particular source message particular target message couldn't defind the mapping program..this is not complesary any mapping program we can push through forceble .

  • Imported archives

    How to import externally defined mapping programs in to Imported archieves? could anybody help me....
    Thanks in advance,
    Manoj

    Hi Manoj,
                XI supports 4 types of mappings
                            1. Message mapping
                            2. XSLT MApping
                            3. JAVA Mapping
                            4. ABAP Mapping.
                     If you go with message mapping or ABAP mapping no need to use imported archive. If you want to implement XSLT or JAVA mapping then only you need to import those programmes into imported archives. when import the external programms(XSLT or JAVA) to the Imported archives then should keep those file as a ZIP. The ZIP files only can import to the Imported Archives.
    Thanks,
    Satish

  • Can I import a "folder tree" into an "album tree"?

    I have organized a large set of photos on my PC into a nice "directory tree" or hierarchy of nested folders. The nesting structure makes sense since there is a clear hierarchical relationship amongst the photos, and there are so many of them. Viewing them is easy on my PC - I just navigate the folder structure and go into "Picture Viewer" in each folder to see all the pictures on a particlar topic.
    Now, I want to do this on my Mac. Since we lack a "Picture Viewer" function in the iMac world (unless I go look for a freeware one), I am wondering if iPhoto can hold this kind of structure. Basically, albums within albums. I've tried to create a new one and move it inside an existing one and it doesn't seem to like that. Is one level the best iPhoto can do? If so, that is pathetic. The world is more complex than that. I am using iPhoto 2.0.1.
    If it is possible, my extra credit question for whoever tackles this is "can I import the folder structure into iPhoto and keep the nested structure as a tree of albums?". Thanks.

    iPhoto is for people who want a one-app solution for managing all their photos, preparing photo books, ordering prints, and preparing slide shows, and who are satisfied with two levels of storage hierarchy and very limited image editing options. This mostly means family snapshooters. You have a very primitive early version of iPhoto which was bundled at no cost with consumer Macs in its day. iPhoto 6 in particular offers much more organizational flexibility than previous versions, but it's by no means a professional photographer's tool.
    I have nearly 100,000 photos stored on my computers. About 10,000 of them are in eight different iPhoto libraries. The best of my own work and my archives of historical photos are stored in folder hierarchies of my own design, not in iPhoto libraries, and I edit and sort them and prepare prints and presentations using them in Photoshop CS2, Adobe Bridge, GraphicConverter, ViewIt, and occasionally other apps.

  • Issue in .class file in imported archive ESR - after upload using eclipse

    Dear Friends,
    My requirement here is too change existing java mapping. Here I am exporting zip file from imported archive and after making changes in eclipse upload the .JAR file again. Here .class file is not opening after upload in Imported Archive.
    Error is

    I searched online blogs but no help. Can anybody guide me what wrong am I doing here?
    Thanks.
    Sumeet.

    Thanks for reply..Hareesh.
    -> In Eclipse only 1 warning is coming and no error. I guess Eclipse automatically compile .class file. Is there any way in eclipse to see if compilation is done properly?
    -> I imported few external JAR files and already few JAR files are there in Eclipse(JRE1.6), as shown in fig below. Which JAR file is being user? How can I make sure?
    -> When using Run as option I am not getting any option. Is it normal or did I have to activate some option?
    Please give your views on this.

  • Access Imported Archive in User Defined Function

    Hi!
    I want to access a XML file in an user defined function in a message mapping. The XML file is included in an imported archive. I need the information out of this XML file for configuring an extended receiver determination.
    Does anyone know how to solve this?
    Best regards,
    Daniel

    Hi Krishna,
    a property file will be a solution but is has to be stored in the filesystem. In my scenario I prefer a file (not neccessary xml) which is editeable in the IR.
    I tried something in this way (just for testing):
    try {
         DocumentBuilderFactory factory = null;
         DocumentBuilder builder = null;
         Document document = null;
         Element element = null;
         factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
         builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
         document =  builder.parse(Container.class.getResourceAsStream("routing.xml"));
         element = (Element)document.getElementsByTagName("BUSINESS_SYSTEM").item(0);
         return element.getNodeValue();
    } catch (Exception e) {
         return "Crash: "+e.getMessage();
    But it crashes, because the resource "routing.xml" cannot be found. I tried to add the namespace or the name of the imported archive or both as prefix, but it don't work. How can I find out under which address/url I can open the xml document?
    Best regards,
    Daniel
