Can't import artwork manually in vista

Trying to import artwork manually - in browser, items selected, get info window - I can paste, drag and drop or add jpeg artwork (right size) into artwork box but it doesn't show up in main window and when I return to get info it has disappeared completely. Updated to latest iTunes which is an improvement - before the arwork pasted itself to the top left corner of the get info window before disappearing - but still no good to me. This is a headache as I have a very large collection to rip only about half of which has artwork that can be found automatically(so far). Beginning to believe the warning about iTunes Windows Media Player is starting to look far less cumbersome. Please redeem yourselves iTunes users cos I love the interface!

Sorted it - can't change artwork manually on WAV files - means I have to import in apple lossless. Is this just to tie me down in apple's backyard? Oh well, windows play the same games. Spondulicks rule.

  • Can´t import artwork in itunes7

I had not been able to create an itunes account, because I do not live in the countries where the store is currently open. Therefore, when I import music from CDs it does not import automatically artwork (one of the most desired features). What can I do?

  • Can't import artwork on an album

I just got a Mac Mini and am now running iTunes 9.02.
On one dual album, I can't import the artwork.
I've tried several different ways: dragging to Get Info on highlighted tunes from different sources, Get Artwork, and downloading the album cover to the desktop as a jpeg, and tried Adding it to Get Info Album art.
This isn't a Snow Leopard thing, since it happened on my G5 Mac. At one point, I did have the artwork, and then it disappeared again.
    Any ideas on a fix?
    Thanks

    try this:
select all files of the album in iTunes, right-click (or ctrl-click) on the selection and +get info+. the artwork window will be empty. put a tick in the box next to the artwork box and hit okay.
+get info+ again and click into he artwork window once, copy the image in Safari or Preview, return to iTunes and paste (cmd-V) the image. it should now show up in the artwork window. hit okay.
    any help ?

    Allan,
If you get your album artwork from the iTunes Store, it is stored in the folder iTunes/Artwork in an encrypted ".itc2" file.  There may be tools out there to extract it, but it is generally much easier to get the art via a web search in JPG format to use in projects.

  • WPSM54G V1.1 - Can't Print Without Manually Connecting - Vista

Have just setup the print print server for use with a Samsung SCX4200 multifunction printer. Took a bit of time unistalling and reinstalling printer drivers to get it to work, allowing the computer to download the latest Vista driver from Microsoft was the cure. Anyway thought I had it all working, printed test page during the setup etc but.........
Now when I try to print any document I have to manually connect to the printer by right clicking the servor icon. I am assuming this is not how it's supposed to work! I have tried selecting 'print directly to the printer' as was suggested and also tried to delete the TCP/IP port which was also suggested for a connection issue but it will not let me delete the ports (perhaps for good reason!).
So anybody have any idea what I can try to fix this?
Sorry - should add that I have tried turning the auto-dissconnet off which does not seem to work or make any difference. Does having the computer always connected prevent any other network computer from printing?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You can set it up without using the disc.
    Connecting WPS54G/WPSM54G to the 3rd Party Routers/Modem

  • Can't import artwork from iTunes

After loading my two music CDs onto my music library, I cannot import the artwork from iTunes stores

To have iTunes automatically download album artwork when you import a CD or add songs with missing artwork, choose iTunes > Preferences, click Store, and select “Automatically download missing album artwork.”
If you've done that, and you still can't get the artwork, the CD may not be available at the iTunes store. You can use Amazon.com to get artwork. Look up the CD at Amazon, click the artwork to display large size and drag it to your desktop. Then you can add it to your iTunes library.
To add artwork to one item, select an item in your iTunes library and drag the art file to the artwork viewer.
To add artwork to multiple items, select an item, choose File > Get Info, and click Artwork. To add art to the selected item, click Add (or drag the art file from your desktop to the artwork viewer). Click Next to add artwork to the next item.
To add the same artwork to multiple items, hold down the Command key as you click each item, choose File > Get Info, click Artwork, and drag the art file to the artwork viewer.
To add more than one piece of art to a song, drag more than one image to the same artwork box.

  • Iphoto can't import .CR2 shot with manual lenses on intel imac

I'm shooting with a Peleng 8mm on my Canon REBEL Xt, it is a manual lens and my problem is that all the pictures shot with regular EF lenses can be imported in iPhoto, but the ones shot with the Peleng freeze the import process. I got this problem on 2 different intel iMacs, never on the PPC ones. and only with CR2 (raw) pics. JPEGs are imported, whatever the lens I shot with.
My idea is that manual lenses do not feed information to the camera. (regular EF lenses inform the camera of their aperture and approx. focus distance). Consequently, the EXIF in the CR2 file has no values for the aperture and focus distance. I think the problem comes from that, but I was wondering if nobody knows a workaround. I did file bug reports, twice.
if someone want to give it a try :
    http://homepage.mac.com/karimc/iphoto_bugreport.zip
CAUTION: when you try to import the above file, iphoto hangs, you have to force-quit it and delete the contents of the "Import" folder in the iPhoto Library. Only for the strong.

Try converting the files to DNG and import that format. It should work.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

    JohnAndKel,
That's odd because the CD reading test that the diagnostics runs didn't report an error. What happens if you select a song from the CD in iTunes and play directly from CD?
(Just a note, the filter trick doesn't do anything for CD import, just CD burn. iTunes doesn't use the Gear drivers for reading the CD.)

  • Will Get Album Artwork delete manually imported artwork?

I just imported a ton of art manually and would hate it if Get Album Artwork deleted them. Anyone know?
Also, what happens if you manually import artwork and then iTunes later has it in inventory. Will iTunes replace existing manual imports with iTunes art?

that was my next question as I'm finding some of the iTunes art not as good as others, and I have found better than they have. Since in these circumstances, since iTunes does have art assoc with my album, I'm wonding if overwriting iTunes will cause iTunes to overwrite me

  • Can I import my Google Calendar manually to icloud?

I was able to export my google calendar to a file.  unzipped it.  Now I find that ICloud does NOT show an Import feature on my Windows computer. Can I import this file to icloud manually somehow?
    Thanks!

The only possible way I could imagine it might work ( can't guarantee it ) is as followed.
#1 Your Google Calendar is synced with your iphoen and you go into settings to turn it off.
#2 It will ask you: "What would you like to do with excisting local calendars on your iphone", you click keep them on iphone.
#3 Now you sync your empty icloud calendar with your iphone and hopefully the local calendar would sync on your icloud calendar?
Might work...not sure, play around with the settings in the iphone calendar app etc...

  • Is there a way to automate the installation/importing of a certificate. I know how to import on manually, but I need a way to import one via a script. How can I do this?

I am looking for a way to import a certificate into FireFox 4.0.1 on XP. I know how to import them manually under tools>options, but I need a way to script the import process using something like a certutil for FF. Has anyone done this before? I need to hit several hundred workstations. Thanks for your time, suggestions and assistance.

    Thank you, that was perfect!

  • ITunes can never find artwork

I have not been able to get artwork for albums I've imported in the last week or two. I tell iTunes to get album artwork, and I just get an error saying that it could not be found. I have repeatedly checked, rechecked, renamed, and verified the artist and album names with the iTunes store, so, yes, the albums are listed in the store, and I know there aren't any discrepancies keeping iTunes from matching the info. Why is this not working? The albums today are Sick Puppies - Tri-Polar and MuteMath - Armistice as the most recent cases. I can even click the arrows next to the album name and iTunes will take me to that album in the store.
NO, I do not want you to tell me how to add artwork manually. I want high quality/high resolution artwork that you can only get from iTunes.
YES, I have checked for updates to iTunes. I have also logged out, logged in, authorized, deauthorized, restarted, updated Genius, and waved a rubber chicken.
NO, do not respond saying "check the names" or "it worked for me". Helpful responses only.

The artwork for several titles came up all wrong!! Now I put in a Wanda Jackson CD and the picture of some MAN came up!!! ***???
A Trisha Yearwood CD came up with a pic for "Trisha Haywood"!!! And the art for Swing Out Sister is also wrong!!! Bob Seger's "Face the Promise" won't come up at all!!! Will uou guys please fix this cuz it's driving me to drink!!!

  • When importing artwork?

when importing artwork into the get info section of an album why on earth does it take so long for itunes to asign that artwork to the individual songs in that album?
in some cases it takes as long to do that as import the album in the first place.

When artwork is "manually" added. It's:
    1. "embedded" into the track.
    With artwork
    vs without
    2. The ID3 tag is updated with the artwork as "added".
With large files (20mb or more) #2 can take a while longer. If you have an entire 20 track CD of ALAC files, it's going to be a bit to manually add.
This is probably the ONLY place where downloading artwork from the iTunes sture would be advantageous. Downloading artwork doesn't "embed" it. It only adds a "call" to the artwork in yout iTunes Artwork folder. Unfortunately, that process also has to write the ID3 tag for the file though, so the time saving is minimal.

  • How can I import data in to the digital word generator in Multisim?

How can I import data in to the digital word generator in Multisim?
I just  received this comment from a friend, a RADAR engineer, who has just down loaded Multisim.  He has been using HP/Agilent software.  He has a work around using a piecewise linear voltage waveform with data imported from Excel but this is not really a good solution.  It would also be helpful to import data from Mathcad or equivalent.
"I thought I was about to be impressed with MultiSim but it ended only in disappointment. There is a word generator in the simulation instrument panel which can drive the DAC with a waveform and it can have thousands of lines of values. I opened Excel, wrote the formula to generate the time and voltage points for a chirp, converted to DAC values in Hex and then went back to the word generator in MultiSim to load the values only to find that you have to enter each value manually. It doesn’t even allow you to paste in a list of values from a text file. I’m not going to type 5000 values by hand. If you get the chance to give feedback to National Instruments please ask them if the paste option can be added to the word generator. MultiSim is useful in many regards, but in this case, it left me with the impression that it is considerably limited in capability compared to what I’m used to."

    Hi,
You can load your data automatically in the Multisim word generator. Follow these steps:
    - Save your data file (in excel .xslx ir .csv format) on your computer
    - Change the extension of the file to ".dp"
    - Double-click the word generator in Multisim and click on Set...
    - In the Settings dialog box, click on Load and then Accept
    - This will prompt you to select the .dp file you have on your computer, select it and you're good to go
However, in Multisim you have the option of creating your own custom simulation analysis and instrument.
I will try creating the instrument and send it back to you but it might take some time.
Multisim and LabVIEW are very powerful in test automation, with the custom instruments you create for Multisim you don't need to export your data file into excel from LabVIEW (or MathCAD or other tools) and then reload it into Multisim. The test procedure is automated instead.
Please check this reference design about automated simulation
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/7825
Here is how you can create your own custom measurement tool in Multisim and LabVIEW, but as I mentioned, I will create the word generator and come back to you anyways

  • Can't import an iPhoto library into Aperture

I'm using Aperture 1.5.2 and iPhoto 6.0.6 and cannot get Aperture to import my iPhoto library. I am following the procedure in the Aperture User Manual (p. 112) but it doesn't work. I don't get a beach-ball cursor or anything... no images, no disk activity, etc. This is regardless of the “Store Files:” or “Version Names:” or other settings in the dialog box.
I saw the Apple Support doc entitled “Aperture can't import iPhoto Library from iPhoto 6.0.1 or 6.0.2” which promises a fix in Aperture 1.1. Is this still the same problem? Or is it a different problem?
I know I can drag the photos from iPhoto into Aperture, but keywords are not preserved. Any suggestions?
    PowerBook Al 15   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I recently started using Aperture 1.5.2 and imported my iPhoto Library from iPhoto 6.0.6, so it's not an impossible task. I also had a lot of trouble with it. I can say it was a pain and there were several false starts and once it froze half-way through importing them. I did File -> Import... -> iPhoto Library and I left the files in their current location... but you said this was regardless of settings. I swear the thing just sat their for a good 20 minutes after I told it to import, although I can't recall if there was a spinning cursor or not. I'd get occasional errors about being unable to connect to server at the beginning (after it sat there for 20 minutes) and middle of the process. I just kept hitting Okay and if I had all other applications closed, Aperature finally did it. So... I guess that all amounts to: "I had problems, too, but after several tries it worked so maybe just keep trying and let it sit for awhile if no one else has a more helpful suggestion." Good luck!
