Can't import audio files into Logic Pro

I have some original compositions previously recorded on a Windows PC that I want to work on in Logic Pro. However, despite converting them to .raw, mp3, apple tiff and having the original file as. Wav, Logic Pro doesn’t recognise them; they’re all greyed out when I try to import or open, even though they play ok in I-tunes? How can I resolve this?

.raw is not recognized by Apple. What format is this? Is this an audio file format?
.mp3... well, if you like that kind of degraded sound...
.tiff is an IMAGE file format. Whatever made you think this would work?
I think you have renamed the file extensions one too many times...and the Apple machine is confused. Try starting over.
Also, try to look at the info pane for each file, and make SURE it is seen as a .wav file AND that the file is set to read / write, not locked.

  • Can't import prores files into Premiere Pro CC or SpeedGrade CC

Can't import prores files into Premiere Pro CC or SpeedGrade CC. But I can into After Effects CC.
I also can't export to DNxHD files to an MXF file either.
I do have latest Quicktime Pro installed and I also have Avid Media Composer and the other pieces of the Avid package.
    Conflict?

I only have one account on the computer and it has Administrator priveleges.  What I am doing to make it work is opening the application using the "Run as Administrator" command (e.g., right click application shortcut on desktop, choose "Run as Administrator").  I am not a Windows guru but I would guess there is something different between opening an Application with a user that has Administrator priveleges and opening an Application choosing "Run as Administrator".  Also, your answer still does not address the fact that I can't use my jog wheel.
    Anyone else have some ideas?

  • Importing AAF files into Logic Pro 7.1

    Hello All:
Have got a number of song sequences that are in the AAF format, complete with associated audio .aif sound files in the same folder.
These AAF files were created on another Logic pro studio, as they had to export them from Pro Tools into AAF .
i am able to IMPORT the sequence arrange with requisite tracks set up, but when the audio files attempt to load, i am prompted by the finder to MANUALLY locate each audio file to enable it to place into the Logic arrange page correctly.
I get the "where is the file"xxxxxB4Wrww.aif" type message, and can see the actual file located in the finder window, but it won't just locate them automatically.
It takes a loooong time to search out in the list each file and then click DONE to enter it!
Then repeat for EACH file name.....jeez.
One song has 78 audio files associated with it!
A local tech guy in a MAC software dealership said this was a continuing problem he had also with AAF in Logic 7.....
Any hints, before i spend 4 mind numbing hours hand-locating
    these frikkin files?
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi All,
I've recently been having problems importing MP3 files into the arrange window. I thought I changed a setting and can't figure out what's up? Also I haven't been able to change my sampling rate to 48K or more. Mind you, I'm in transition right now moving to a different continent and my external drive is stored away so I'm playing and importing from my OS drive. Is that the issue??
    Thanks,

    Hi Francisco.
Please re-post this as a NEW question. I just went over my last few posts, and here you are, and NO ONE has answered your question in three days. That is not usually the case in this forum.

PS please give some details, what actually happens with the mp3 files? what is the actual problem? And also, what sound card / interface are you using?

  • Can't import Photoshop files into Premiere Pro

I am learning Premiere Pro CS6 and I am using a book titled "Classroom in a Book".  One of the exercises is to import a Photoshop file into Premiere Pro.  I received a generic error message "The importer reported a generic error".  I found that if I run Premiere Pro as an Administrator that the issue goes away.  I wasn't too worried about it until I realized that my ShuttleXpress does not function when I am running Premiere Pro as an Administrator.  Does anyone have any idea what is going on???? This is very frustrating.

  • Can't import .rx2 files into Logic 9 (64 bit)

Well I've followed all the instructions in Logic's Help function and I cannot get it to import .rx2 files in 64 bit mode.
I have downloaded and installed the REX Shared Library 1.6 application, but dragging and dropping from the Finder doesn't work, neither does using the Import or Import Audio menu commands.
It works fine in 32 bit mode, but not in 64 bit.
Anyone else having the same problem?

Well, when the people that make Rewire, and all the people that make the other third-party software release and update their code for 64-bit, you'll have them back.
That's hardly Apple's fault - Apple are pushing the 64-bit curve in order to, eh, politely shove these people into getting 64-bit versions released.
Until then, if you rely on such third-party code, don't go 64-bit until all your third-party software is 64-native and fully compatible.

  • Can't Import audio files into Garageband (MP3's, Aiff's). Lion OS. PLEASE HELP!!

Everything is lower case. I dragged a file from the finder, it shows the plus sign, and say's it's converting, and it adds a new track, but nothing shows up... Dragging from itunes does even less -doesn't even show a plus sign or convert at all... I recently upgraded to Lion, and also upgraded to Garageband 11, though I never tried this with Garageband in the past.  Please help. It's sorta urgent.
    THANKS!!!!

When you open GarageBand the image on the far right is selected to the "i" button.
Select the Media Button on the right
Select iTunes it should open your entire music library.  Dang and drop any song into GarageBand.  Kinda lame that Lion wont let you drang and drop from iTunes anymore, but this seems to work just as well.

When I export an AAF file/project from Protools 9 using an external drive and import the AAF into Logice Pro X the drum track does not play correctly.  It is out of sync with the rest of the track.  I created the drum loop as a plugin using Native Instruments Maschine. In Preferences/Audio  under the General tab, how do you have the plug-in-latency compensation set?

    JohnAndKel,
That's odd because the CD reading test that the diagnostics runs didn't report an error. What happens if you select a song from the CD in iTunes and play directly from CD?
(Just a note, the filter trick doesn't do anything for CD import, just CD burn. iTunes doesn't use the Gear drivers for reading the CD.)

  • Im having trouble importing mov files into premiere pro on creative cloud, have installed quicktime

Im having trouble importing mov files into premiere pro on creative cloud, original problem was no video and only audio when I imported mov file, so I have installed quicktime after reading that may solve the problem, but now an error message reads codec missing or unavailable, any help would be appreciated

MOV is a wrapper... what is inside the wrapper?
Codec & Format information, with 2 links inside to read
-read both links in reply #1 http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1270588
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing

  • Trouble importing MXF files into Premiere Pro CC

When importing MXF files into Premier Pro (CC or CS6) from a Canon C300, If I have stopped and started the Camera (during an interview for instance) ie, if there are several takes, multiple duplicate verions of my fooatge appear in the folder on my card, when viewed through the media browser in Premier Pro.
If I try to ingest the footage into Premiere Pro (CC/CS6) or use Prelude (CC/CS6) the conformed footage file does not start in the right place. Example, an interview with two takes once ingested (as one file) has the second take first.
    Has anybody else encountered this?

Yes, MXF should play perfectly in PP CS6, but if you can't work this out at this point, you may wrap your MXF video to something intermediate. as a matter of face, Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 seems to work fine if you import your MXF clips directly from a camera or camcorder, but if have already copied MXF recordings your HDD or you downloaded them from somewhere else, the import error may occur.
So i suggest you convert the MXF footage to something mezzanine we would recommend DNxHD.mov (if you are on a PC) or Apple ProRes .mov (if on a mac). those two intermediate codecs are good mezzanine codecs that handle recompression well and standup well in other areas of post-production (color grading, graphics, compositing, etc,). You can see what I wrote about the solution. "Why Premiere Pro CS6 can't import MXF files?" i hope that it is helpful to you.

  • Import mov files into premiere pro cc windows

    Hi
to import mov files into premiere pro cc 64bit ,windows 8.1 64bit pro do i need Quicktime pro or quicktime alternative  ?
because when i try to import a mov file i got this error
    thanks
i remember cs6 was able to import it
i have never installed quicktime pro

Your question simply cannot be answered definitively for a given clip because it's the codec that matters, not the wrapper/file extension.
As of one of the 7.x releases, Premiere implemented native support for decoding some codecs within a QuickTime file. But that native support does not extend to the entire universe of codecs that can be stuffed into the wrapper.
So you can either report the codec or simply install QT and see if that enables PPro to import the clip.

  • Can I import html files into Buzzword?

Can I import html files into Buzzword?

    Thank you for your post.
Buzzword lets you import Microsoft Word (DOC, DOCX), plain text (TXT), Rich Text Format (RTF), Word 2003 XML, and Open Document Format (.odt) files. (Font substitution and other formatting changes sometimes occur on import, depending on the content of the document.) You'll need to convert your HTML file to one of the supported file types before importing to Buzzword.
    Kind Regards,
    Michelle
