Can't import custom ringtones

Hello there,
I just updated my iTunes to the latest 10.6 version, iPhone4(5.1.1), currently using Windows 7. Now I can't drag and drop custom ringtones/text tones I want, although I was able to before. I follow the usual change from mp3 to m4r, and that usually gets me the + sign the add to the ringtone section of iTunes, but now instead of a + sign, all it says is "link" and if I try and drag my file, nothing actually happens. I can't even play the .m4r version in iTunes either-- it opens up, but nothing happens. The file is also under 30 seconds (only 3 seconds long). I haven't changed my settings, so I'm wondering what's going on now.
I can drop the mp3 file into iTunes though and that works perfectly, just not the m4r for text tones...

I actually downloaded the link through an email I got.
I do have the Tones library in addition to other custom ringtones I have. It still only shows up as "Link" instead of a "+" sign.

Yes you can. You can import a Motion project file directly into DVD Studio Pro, though when I tried it took a loooooong time (depends on the size and complexity of the project of course). Here's a tutorial on how to do that:

OR... you can just export your Motion project and import it into DVD SP as a Quicktime file, and put that in the Menu section. Then you can add your buttons and so forth and proceed from there.

Can't transfer customized ringtones to iPhone6

Hey guys!
I took songs from my iTunes library and made them into ringtones using Garage Band. Before, I was able to transfer the customized ringtones onto my other iPhone which was a 4S. I now have the iPhone 6 and I can't seem to transfer my old ringtones or new ones on to my new phone. Can someone help me please?!

WHOA. So right now, I gave it another shot but dragging and dropping the tones onto my phone and now it worked. IDK what happened before and why it worked this time because I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING DIFFERENT.

Can't import .m4r ringtone made with Ringtonium to itunes.

No matter what I try, nothing works. I read somewhere that I might need to first import it as a m4a then convert to m4r? This is insanity. Anyone have any suggestions as to what this is?

Ok, so I should have stated it was a custom made ringtone with the recording option in Ringtonium. I just tested doing it with an MP3 source and it worked. Any ideas as to why my custom ringtone won't import? They're both m4r files.

My computer crashed and I had to redownload iTunes and all my music the other day. I plugged my iPhone 4 in to put a custom ringtone I made in iTunes on it and it says it wants to "erase and sync" my phone since it was connected to my old iTunes. Is there a way to fix this or is there a way to make a new custom ringtone for my iphone without using iTunes?

Can't import custom class!

I have no idea why as3 is so stupid but it is and I have to
deal with it. Basically, I creatd a Server.as file with the Server
class but I can't import it into my .fla! Both are in the same
folder and when I change properties to use AS2 it works! But when

I'm creating a custom Flash Video Playback component in Flash
8 using AS2. I understand that I cannot import this to Flex as
stated in Livedocs: "You can use SWC files created in Flash 8 only
for skinning, not as components. Until the next version of Flash is
released, you can only use SWC files created in Flex 2 as
components."
But now that Flash 8 supports AS3 with the new Adobe Labs
add-on, if I create the custom component using AS3 in Flash 8, can
I then import it and use it in Flex 2.0.1?

To add to this topic :), since AVM for flash 8 and flash 9
are different, swf files in as3 and as2 live in different worlds.
This means you can load flash 8 movies at runtime but you wont be
able to control them at all, just as if they where a JPG file. So
in order to have some interaction, the best option is to recompile
the SWF in flash 9. You might need to do a lot of reprogramming
though.
As a work around the AS3 team suggest to use LocalConnection
between them, but to my opinion this might require the same
rewriting effort as to transform the movie to flash 9 on the first
place.

Can't find custom ringtone on phone!

Hello,
I created a ringtone in Garageband, "shared" it as a ringtone to itunes, synced to phone, see this ringtone under "ringtones" on the iphone in itunes when the phone is connected, but cannot find it or use it on the actual phone.
I have tried several times by re-syncing but no luck. All I see are the original ringtones that came with the phone.

Highlight the file in iTunes and open "get info" by cmd+click or right click>>get info.
Make sure that the extension of the file is .m4r
Since you are not able to drag it out of iTunes on your desktop, it tells me that the extension could be something else other than what it should be i.e. .m4r. Also, hence, when you try to add it to your iPhone the file is being treated as a music file thereby trying to replace what you have in your music section of your iPhone.
If the file extension is not .m4r, this is what you need to do -
1. Locate the file on your macintosh hard drive for this -
2. Click your finder>>music>>iTunes>>iTunes music and then look for a folder called Unknown.
Note - If your iTunes library is not "clean" with random songs without artists, albums, etc. you might have more than one folders by name "Unknown" or some variant of it. So look around and locate the file on the hard drive.
3. Drag it out on your desktop
4. Right click and change the extension to .m4r
5. Save and double click so that it gets imported back into iTunes and starts playing too on your mac
6. You will find it under Ringtones. Sync in back on your iPhone.
Hopefully it will go well for you this time around.

Can't allocate custom ringtones/songs to contacts...

i can't allocate songs to contacts like i had on other phones... is there any way to do this? the songs are already on the phone, so i thought there'd be no problem...

Have you converted the songs into 30 second ringtones? To use a song as a ringtone, you need to turn it into a ringtone.

IOS 6 Custom Ringtones for 3rd party apps such as Talkatone

Will iOS 6 ever allow an app such as talkatone or google voice to allow custom ringtones? Does anyone know??

Alarm won't play custom ringtones - defaults to "Radar" even though I select a custom tone

In Clock, I can choose a custom ringtone that I own, and they play when selected; but when the alarm goes off, it only plays the default tone "Radar." I can use the ringtones for the phone ringer, but not the alarm? What gives?

Shakeydrums, the bit rate is 128kbps. The ringtone is 346.5kb. I don't know if this makes any sense to you (as you can tell, I'm not amazing with technology. I can get by.)
Nathan, surely it shouldn't matter if I have manual music checked because I've got the tab that says "Ringtones" and that is checked to sync all my ringtones that I have in my iTunes library. Or am I missing something?

Custom Ringtone in iPhonbe

I have iPhone ver. 1.1.2 and downloaded some custom ringtones using iToner. It worked fine until unfortunately I upgraded my iTune 7.7. It has erased all custom ringtones. I tried reloading with iToner but it does not work. I have uninstalled iTune 7.7 and installed iTune 7.5. Now iTune 7.5 does not sync with my iPhone and iToner still can't reload custom ringtones. When i connect my iPhone to Mac, it loads iPhoto and display all photos in my phone. Can anyone there help me how I can sync my phone with iTune 7.5 and reload my custom ringtones.

I do have Garage Band but it only sends one ringtone to iPhone. When I tried sending second one, it overwrites first one. I have uninstalled iTune 7.7 and installes 7.5 instead from Apples site. iTune 7.5 does not even recognize iPhone now. What should I do. Please help
