Can't import Library List ;_;

I exported a playlist of my music about a week ago to my exterior harddrive, where I also store my music. Two days ago I had to reinstall Windows Xp and lost all of my data. Since everything was on my exterior harddrive I still have everything and I have reinstalled Itunes successfully but I can't import my music. I get all of my playlists, but with no music attached. I can add music back into these playlists, but I lost all of my stars ratings!
The error message tells me "Some of the songs in the file "Library.xml" were not imported because they could not be found".
I think the Letter next to my exterior harddrive in "My computer" has changed...but I'm not sure if that's whats causing this.

that is EXACTLY the problem. You can use these microsoft directiosn to change the drive letter back to what it was before.

We received our Mac the first of the year. We previously had iPhone's and had all our contact on them. When it can time to set everything up we thought, ok, plug it in and it will work find, everything will import and sync and the world will be a great place. Wrong. My wife did the set up with the itunes account, that went smooth but the contact list is the problem. It up loaded once and then I decided to do something with it and it was erased. My fault I know. I tried to just upload the contact again from the iPhone but they were erased from my wife iPhone. The setting were check "Sync add book, all" I've changed the setting in itunes so they don't sync so i don't lose them. Any thought would be helpful.

We want to control server services with Group Policy Preferences via the Group Policy Preferences \ Control Panel Settings \ Services. By starting from scratch, I don want to manually add each Service here. Can I import a list of Services
here, then go back and config the properties?

Usually, there's no need for that. Most people only configure services
that aren't already configured the way they should be after an OOBE
install...

Can I import library from one account to another account?

I have a work account and a personal account and I'd love access to my photos, music, etc, in my personal library. Can I import or sync the libraries? Thanks, Steve

I have 2 libraries, one under username "A" (personal) and one under username "B" (work).
it doesn't matter if they're work or personal, they were just names to refer to different accounts.
I have a library...the library is on a PC. I synced with an iPad. I'm syncing with a new PC ("B" or "work") and would like the import the library from the first PC but created with a different Apple account/ID ("personal" or "work").
I hope this helps explain my question.

I used to be able to sync my aperture libraries from my iMac to my MacBook Pro. I just would use the import Library/Project option and it worked perfectly. Now Aperture just hangs when I try to do it and I can't get it to work.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Can't import library from External drive to new compueter.

I guess this could be more of a Windows 8 issue but maybe someone knows what I can do. My old 2006 Macbook died and I just got a new Windows 8 laptop. I had my iTunes library on an external drive (formatted in NTFS) because the Macbook had a tiny hard drive. Anyway, this new laptop has big enough HD that I can copy my library directly to it. The problem is, I can't... I opened up two Windows Explorers, one with my old library, and another with the location of the new library. It should let me just copy the contents from one folder to the other but for some reason it just won't. I select all the files/folders, drag them over to the new location, and nothing happens. I tried to copy/paste, both with the right-click menu, as well as keyboard shortcuts, and again nothing. Not even an error message. Why won't Windows let me copy the files? Should I just open up iTunes and drag the files over that way or will that screw things up? Please help!
PS. I'm using Windows 8 64-bit and iTunes 11.1.1.11

If this was used with your MacBook, Macs cannot write to NTFS drives.
So what was on the external drive? WHat do you mean by "library"? Which folders?
Copy the entire /iTunes/ folder.
Why won't Windows let me copy the files?

Can't import library from iPod to iTunes

I was having troubles with my laptop so I was forced to re-load the entire operating system, deleting everything previously on my computer. Now, I'm unable to load all of my songs from my iPod into my new iTunes library. The only ones it is allowing me to import are songs that were purchased through the iTunes store. This is a pain because now I'm unable to listen to music on my computer. Can anyone help?

Go get some 3rd-party software like Yamipod, Copypod, etc.

As you've found out, iTunes will only restore purchased music.
I can't recommend any certain program, since I haven't had to do this.

I can't import keyword list into Aperture

I want to import a big keyword list from last years photo library into this years, but when I export the keyword list from my 2012 library it's greyed out and won't import into my 2013 library. The Aperture help says it should work just fine, any tips on what I / Aperture / Apple are doing wrong here greatly appreciated: I have a big family keyword list which I don't want to have to recreate from scratch!

Can I import a list of websites that pop ups are allowed from?

I work in IT at a small college. Our library has a list of 20+ websites that they want to allow pop ups from. I have the list entered in my sysprep unattend.xml to populate the exceptions list in IE, and was hoping for some similar shortcut for within Firefox that I could add as a batch file. Adding 20+ URLs one at a time in to Fire fox is pretty tedious work.
Any assistance would be most appreciated!

Can't import library

I followed the instructions for transfering a library from Windows to a Mac and so far it's gone fine. Now I'm trying to get the songs to show up in iTunes with no success. I dragged the library from the iPod to the music folder under documents, on the mac. It's still not showing up in iTunes. I tried importing these songs from that location and it brings up the error message: "The file "Itunes Library.itl" cannot be imported because it does not appear to be a valid exported file" Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated. If you need any clarity because I know it's jumbled, just let me know.

I tried the suggestions of other users to import from an external drive with the same result as you. I resolved this by instead selecting add to library and then browsing to the itunes folder on the external drive. It then copied all the contents to iTunes on the Mac.

Aperture 3.1 won't Import Library over Local Area Network

I have upgraded three Macs on an ethernet LAN. One is the "master" and I periodically Import its Library to the other machines to bring them up to date. This has worked fine since v. 3.0 came out.
With 3.1 I can't Import Library over the LAN. On the target computer I navigate to the "master" computer, select its library, hit go, and Aperture on the target machine does nothing for a few seconds and then hangs with a spinning beachball. I have to force quit.
I have made small test libraries on each machine and confirmed that I can't Import to any machine from any other over the ethernet. But I can use the Finder to drag a Library from one machine to another's desktop over the LAN--and then Import Library from the desktop works fine.
I've done all the usual: repair permissions, database, and eventually restore from Vault. I've reinstalled v. 3.0. Get Info informs me that all the libraries are 3.1. As far as I can see, nothing else is broken. LAN networking works fine for everything but Aperture.
Does anyone else see the same problem? Any suggestions?

Me too. Upgraded both libraries to 3.1, rebuilt both libraries to see if that would help ... but no ... no way I can get one to merge with the other over Wi-Fi. Used to work fine in 3.0. I suppose I will have to try with a FW cable and the MacBook Pro in Target Mode - hopefully that will work in the short-term.

Ok, I had a glitch, forced to restart, and lost my train of thought.
Reinstalling iTunes should fix the major issue that might have gone wrong, perhaps your explaination points will disappear and everything will be peachy again.
But if they don't, you can open the XML file in iTunes Folder using a Text edit program to see what the common pathname is to the iTunes Music folder or where your content is located.
If you moved the itunes folder, it needs to go back.
I can't download iTunes to my Vista virtual machine to test it out right now because iTunes is down, so I can't verify the pathname, perhaps your issue and the iTunes being down are related somehow?
You don't want to import all your music again, but it's a option, but you lose all your playlists, that's what I'm trying to recover.
If oyu don't have a whole lot of playlists, then simply select all the explaimation point music and delete, select File from the menu and import your itunes folder again.

Can't import iphoto library into Lightroom

Lightroom does not appear to recognise my pics in the Mac iphoto library. I can import from other folders/files but not directory from iphoto. Likewise I can't export a photo back into iphoto once it has been "developed" in Lightroom.
Do I have to change some preferences or something?

I recently changed my pc for a mac and all my old photo files were transferred across into iphoto and any new photos from my camera were imported straight into iphoto. I have since started a course where we use Lightroom but find I can't import any photos stored in iphoto into Lightroom. iphoto is always "shaded out" in the list when I try to import into Lightroom.
What do you suggest I do in order to import these photos into Lightroom?
