Can't import messages using Communication Centre

I am trying to import messages to my phone using the Communicaiton Centre. However the 'Import' command is greyed out under messages view and only available under 'Contacts' view.
The help file says:
"Importing messages from a text file
To import messages, do the following:
In the Messages view, select File > Import. The Import Messages dialog box opens.
Select the file to import and click Open."
But the import option in the file menu is greyed out. I exported the messages from another nokia phone into a CSV file but this means I can't access them.
I also have the messages backed up in a .nbu file, but I can't use it because I want these messages added on top of the messages I already have, not instead of them.
Does the 'Import Messages' command only work if you have an empty inbox or something? And if so is there any way I can merge the two sets of messages in the two .nbu files so I can have both sets on my phone rather than having to pick only one?

Currently there's no nbu merger yet.
I'm not quite sure of the "Import" command. Nokia has strictly limit the operation on the text message: you can't paste a vMessage (.vmg file) into inbox/sent/draft box.

Error Message: "Can't Send Message using the Server UCPB GEN"

Frequently i can't send emails from "UCPBGEN" "Gmail", "MSN" and "Yahoo". There are times i can, without changing any setting. The error message i am get is "Can't Send Message using the server..."
When i check connection doctor, they are all green.

What OS are you using?
Double-checking all settings is good. Along the way, one thing to try:
Have a look at your SMTP server settings to see if the port is set to "default" or "custom". If it is "default" try switching to custom using one of the numbers listed under "default". That fixed it for me on one of my accounts.
(To do all this: Mail, Preferences, Accounts, Outgoing Mail Server, Edit SMTP server list, Advanced.)

Can't send messages using pop account

Hello,
I can’t send mail with some of my pop accounts using mail app. I have a .mac and a Yahoo account both work perfect. The other POP accounts don’t send. I get an error that says, “Cannot send message using the Server xxxxxxx” I check the setting and they are fine. It stop working a couple of days ago. I didn’t make any changes on the accounts settings.

I had the same problem until I called Earthlink support – it's your ISP's problem not yours. They will help you open a new POP account and set a new port (in the advanced option in preferences) to authorize your ability to send mail. I have no idea whether Yahoo is as helpful as Earthlink. They may not be because they're free.

Can't delete messages using delete key in Outlook 2007

After upgrading to Exchange 2010, we are seeing an intermittent problem where users in Outlook 2007 can't delete messages from their inbox using the delete key. Opening the message and clicking delete from there will delete it from the inbox.
They can also drag the messages from the inbox to deleted items.
The issue comes and goes during the day. One minute delete will work and then it won't and then it will again.

How many uses have the issue?
Did you check the Outlook add-in or Anti-Virus application?
Please check whether there is any error/warning event in the Event Viewer.
Please recreate the Outlook profile for user if possible.
Please try to run the cmdlet New-MailboxRepairRequest.

How can I import data using .dmp into the table which has more columns then in import

I am building the history for warehouse purpose on Oracle 8i database and want to use the old import (.dmp) files (from oracle 7.3.4) to import data but the underlying table is having few more columns which are not in my old DMP file .. how can I import the data into these altered tables while using the same *.imp files .
Any solutions ?

That is the most obvious solution .. but think of the case when my operational database which is the source of my data is undergoing changes every quarter i.e after every 3 months there are some changes on underlying table structures which means structures of my import files will always be different after evry quarter .. you can imagine the number of temporary import structures I need to create .. can't there be a solution wherein I can write an SQL over the import file to read the data in required format ..

Can't import photos using USB cable

I have a Canon 5D Mark III and LR 4.3. I normally import photos using a CF card reader. However, I'm on vacation and only have the USB cable that connects the camera to my Macbook Pro. I've used this successfully in the past to import photos, but I'm now getting the following error:
I get this whether I select one or multiple photos (there are about 195 on the card right now).
Any ideas?

When I plug my 5DIII into the Macbook Pro, I don't see it on the desktop. It does appear when I open Image Capture or Lightroom. I tried importing from Image Capture, but that doesn't seem to work either. It hangs on the first file. Is there any way to get the 5DIII to appear on the desktop so I can just drag the files over?

Can't import images using iCloud on iPad and Mac

Yes. I have followed the "easy" instructions of the Apple site for setting my up my icloud account and sign in with both devices. Yes I have seen every imaginable youtube video of how to's and followed the steps. I am connected to the internet, signed in with icloud in both devices, ticked automatic upload of photos, photo sharing, etc. Now where do I find the images? are they automatically imported NO and if I enter icloud from the internet can I see my images NO!
and if i followed the easy steps to import them using iphoto, it just says something stupid like "import the photos" yeah...how???!!

Othe fact is when i go to the icloud.com the photos are not there either. I made an album on the ipad and "shared" manually the photos for icloud and nope, it doesnt work.
How did you share the album?
You can share to a shared Photo Stream and publish that stream as a public webpage on your iCloud webpage. Is taht what you have done? Then you need to use exactly the url, that is given, when you publish the webpage. It is not linked on your iCloud page.
If I wanted download manually the photos to iphoto I cant I cant because the icloud icon doesnt appear in the left menu of iphoto like the one you are showing, it doesnt display either a shared button like the one you have in your screen and it doesnt explain at all how to import images.
Let's compare the settings on your Mac:
In System Preferences - you say you are signed into iCloud, o.k.
Did you enable the options for "Photos"?
Check, if bot "My Photo Stream" and "Photo Sharing" are enabled.
Otherwise iPhoto will not show the iCloud options.
In iPhoto you should see the iCloud panel I posted as a Tab in the iPhoto Preferences panel.

Can't import music using mediasou

MTP firmware (a massi've mistake)
I can't transfer anything using Mediasource, it tells me what is on my player but everytime I try to imports tracks it gets to the pending stage and will go no further. I can use notmad explorer, but that just like mediasouce used to be is a bit hit and miss.
I have all the latest updates and I am using the latest firmware.

i have the exact same problem. when you acces your my computer folder do all your drivers appear. my all delete them selves when software is installed

Can't import songs using home sharing

Just bought a new macbook pro laptop, and I can't import my music library from my iMac using home sharing.
The library shows up as shared, but I can't drag any music into the library on my laptop.
Help would be greatly appreciated because I'm extremely frustrated.

I am curious as well. I also just bought a MacBook Air to use in addition to my iMac. I just made some purchases on iTunes and homesharing only allows you to stream, not physically sync the media back and forth, which is what I want.
This is going to be really annoying..

Can't send messages using third-party keyboards

Hello all - I'm using Skype for iPad on iOS 8.1.. I've decided to install Swiftkey keyboard and since I've done that, I've noticed that I can't send messages. After writing them down, "send" button doesn't show up, until I switch back to default iOS keyboard.
Have you seen this issue?

I have the same problem with SwiftKey and skype on ipad. I'm able to send messages doing a trick but it's a bit annoying. You can tap on the text field so the keyboard comes out, flip the ipad between vertical and horizontal, tap anywhere so the keyboard disappears and then tap again on the text field. The send button will show up.
Not ideal at all but at least you'll be able to send messages until the issue is resolved

Can't Send messages using mail on Bell South DSL

My parents are using Bell South DSL and a Net Gear Wireless Router. I have a Linksys Wireless Router living in GA and everything works fine. Any ideas what is going on here?
I receive all my email, I just can't send messages.

Greetings! I found this thread after trying in vain to set up my mom's email, which also stopped working with Bellsouth after the upgrade to 10.5 (now on 10.5.1). Email conversion was fine, and she, like others here, could receive mail but not send it.
I have followed the directions here to the letter. Still no such luck. To clarify, mail.bellsouth.net, port 25, no authentication is the only entry in her outgoing mail server list (and it's selected). Moreover, when she checks Connection Doctor, it passes with flying colors - even connecting for outgoing email.
Still pondering this one. I'm about "this close" to getting her a Gmail account (which I tested using my account - and it works fine, even IMAP). Of course if she can keep her existing account I think she'd prefer that, but I say go with whatever works ... !
Other troubleshooting thoughts welcome!

I have been having the same problem. I have a dot mac account wich I use as my primary e-mail account. I receive just fine, I just cannot send using mail. If I loggon to the dot mac website, I can send mail that way. But I cannot send using mail. The strange part is, I can use mail on my iBook (G3), and my daughters eMac (G4). I have checked, they all hace the same options checked in the account settings. But, my pride and joy (iMac G4) refuses to send mail. It gets frustrating having to logon to the website just to send mail. HELP.

Yes. iMessages are free.
If it reverts to SMS due to no connectivity you will be charged normal international SMS rates. This feature can be turned off in Message settings.

Can I import clips using a frame rate of 60 or higher?

I have a sony cx260v that allows me to record in a rate of 60 fps. However when I attempt to upload the footage taken in this frame rate to iMovie 11 9.0.4 it shows as a blocked clip and does not allow me to upload.

Yes, you can re-import them, but it's not that straightforward, and you loose some quality in the process. Search for "MPEG Streamclip" or "DVD camcorder" in this forum, and you will find lots of answers.
Alternatively, you can make data DVDs with your DV clips. Simply pop in an empty DVD, and drap the DV clips you want to export into the burn folder. A normal DVD can hold about 20 minutes of DV clips, a dual layer DVD twice as much.

Can't import messages into phone.

I backed up my Nokia N73's message before giving it to the service center, now I'm import those messages back to the phone but in the PC suite import option is greyed out and unclickable. Any suggestions?
