Can't Import mp3s and wmas to itunes

hi,my problem is that there are some mp3 and wma songs i have on my mac but when i try to put them on my library or basically try to listen to them on itunes nothing happens.i drag and drop them into library or manually import them but itunes just doesn't respond i even tried to manually open the directory music>itunes>itunes music>automatically add to itunes and dragged these mp3s into it but it just keeps ignoring them and throws them into a directory called 'not added'.can anyone help me?

iTunes for Mac (unlike iTunes for Windows) cannot convert WMA files. You will need to use another Mac program, such as EasyWMA, to convert them into an iTunes compatible format.

Save the file from Gmail onto your computer and add it to iTunes.  How you save from Gmail is a Gmail question (their own support pages), not an iTunes question.

From your statements above, it sounds like you never tried to burn a CD for at least the first year that you owned the laptop, as it had a one year warranty on it. While you might have used it frequently to install software,  play DVDs, Blu-Ray disks, etc, that's unclear from your statements. Nonetheless, it might just be dirty-dusty. So, before deleting-uninstalling any software, and given they're cheap, try a CD-DVD Cleaner Disk first and see if that resolves your problems.

  • HT1550 Convert multiple mp3 and wma at once in aac

    Hello All,
I'm new at using iTunes, used to listen to my music in flac format with a Sandisk Sansa Clip+ (with a Rockbox rom).
I've burned some of my CDs in mp3 and wma formats before burning them all again but in flac.
Now with my brand new iPhone 5 16Go, I guess I'm better of using compressed format for keeping requiring space as little as possible.
But in the online help http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1550 the steps, describing how to convert files in aac or whatsoever, make me lost.
Select one or more songs in your library, then from the Advanced menu, choose one of the following (The menu item changes to show what's selected in your Importing preferences):
    Create MP3 version
    Create AAC version
    Create AIFF version
    Create WAV version
    Create Apple Lossless version
If you haven't imported some songs into iTunes yet, you can import and convert them at the same time. This will create a converted copy of the file in your iTunes Library based on your iTunes preferences. To convert all the songs in a folder or on a disk, hold down the Option key (Mac) or Shift key (Windows) and choose Advanced > Convert Import preference setting. The Import preference setting will match what you chose in step 3. iTunes will prompt you for the location of the folder or disk you want to import and convert. All the songs in the folder or on the disk will be converted.
I did the setup of Import setting. But those "Advanced" menu are not water clear for me.
It's step 4 in the document.
How may I select which songs I'd like to import and convert?
Using Add to Library import them, then in iTunes, I select them all, then I have to go to File>Create New Version>Create AAC version.
Only Create AC version remains dimmed if I don't have any songs in my Library.
Therefore where am I supposed to press down Option key to make appearing the Advanced>Convert Import preference setting ?
    I'm lost.
The only I found is to Add to Library, then Create new version, create AAC version.
    Thanks for your help.
    Kind Regards.

After searching the forums I found a 3rd-party program called 'MP3 Trimmer' available at 'http://www.deepniner.net/mp3trimmer/'
Once you have the application, go to Tools > MP3 joiner and you will find a window to drag and drop the audio files you wish to join.
Select your target folder and wait for the conversion to complete. The end resulted in a single .mp3 file virtually the same size as all the previous files were collectively. I added the file to iTunes but decided not to convert it to AAC, though you can if you want to.
There are some restrictions that apply, such as 'CBR and VBR MP3's cannot be joined together'... You can find out more about these in the Help section.

  • How can I copy mp3 files from my Itunes library to an SD card for use in a non-apple phone?

How can I copy mp3 files from my Itunes library to an SD card for use in a non-apple phone?  I can physically copy the tunes as mp3's but the phone does not seem to be able to play all of them.   Do I need to copy an entire album or can I just pick & choose individual songs?   The phone is question is an LG running who knows what for an operating system.

AAC is Advanced Audio Coding.  Basically it's a format that sounds better than MP3 but doesn't take up as much space as a lossless format (like you'd have on a CD).  More than likely you've had that encoding turned on when you ripped your music into itunes (it's the default encoder).  Therefore your LG phone won't play them.
You need to turn off the AAC format by going to the iTunes menu, Preferences, General (at the top), then clicking the "Import Preferences" button.  Change the AAC Encoder to MP3 Encoder.  After that you'll have to make MP3 copies of your songs by right clicking them and selecting "Create MP3 Version."  You'll get a copy of the song that should transfer to your SD card and have MP3 encoding.  Hopefully your phone will play that.

  • How can I import a backing track from itunes to garageband? thanks!

how can I import a backing track from itunes to garageband? Just trying to record over it. thanks!

Reveal  iTunes in GarageBand in the Media Browser like this:
Use the search field to find your song in iTunes, and drag the song from the m
Media Browser to a real instrument track or an empty space on the Time Line.
Or drag the song from the iTunes Application window to the desktop, and from the Desktop into the Time Line in GarageBand. Unfortunately you cannot drag directly from iTunes to Garageband.

  • Can't import mp3

can't import mp3 made in Sounbooth cs5 to Flash cs5 ? Help is needed ?

Flash gives an error that "Couldn't import xyz.mp3" that's it.
I posted this message in 2010 when I was having the same problem with CS4. But then it was working fine with CS5, but now the problem is back ?
    From 2010...
I am using Flash and Soundbooth CS4, I have been working in XP and in Vista. Just moved to Win7 and now the same MP3s we have been using for years will not import to Flash. We have always used Sample Rate 48000 mono and Bitrate 48 Kbps mono. I downloading the trial version of Audition CS5 and with the same Sample Rate and Bitrate the files import fine. Another gentlemen that works with me verified the same issue on his Win7 machine. I bought the eLearning Suite that comes with Soundbooth, so I would not like to have to purchase Audition.
Any other ideas on this are very much appreciated.

  • Help, I can't import my CD songs to itunes for Windows

Help, I can't import my CD songs to itunes for Windows.
My computer crashed. All my songs on CDs were titled by numbers "01", "02" etc. So I have many songs on various CDs titled "01" for example.
When I've tried to import various CDs, it seems like the different songs having the same names are confusing itunes, and my song tracks are getting mixed and muddled.
What can I do? Thanks for any help.

  • Can I import .cda audio file in iTunes on my Macbook Pro with OS X Yosemite

Can I import .cda audio file in iTunes on my Macbook Pro with OS X Yosemite

    iNads,
.CDA files are simple index files, less than 1 kB in size, that do not contain any audio.  There is no reason to import them.
If you have the physical CD and wish to rip it into iTunes, you can import it per this guide:  iTunes 12 for Mac: Import songs from CDs

  • HT204053 sir; i can't import song and videos from pc to my iphone pls help me

sir; i can't import song and videos from pc to my iphone pls help me

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple - if you would like help then you will need to provide more information than 'can't import' e.g. how are trying to sync content and what happens when you do it ?
You have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer, and your phone appears in it when it's connected to your computer ? If not then see if this troubleshooting page helps : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
You should be able to sync music and films/TV programmes by selecting your phone on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (you can enable the sidebar via control-S on a PC) and then using the tabs on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and sync your content
Is that how you are trying to do it and it's not working ?
If you haven't synced your phone to that computer before then you may also find this page useful : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141

  • Help!- MP3 and WMA files no longer playing on my Micro Pl

I have a 52mb micro plus that I got in September 2005. All of a sudden, I can longer play my mp3 and wma files... just the radio. I have updated my creative zen file organizer, I have a full powered battery inside, I have done no significant damage to the player (I dropped the player once on the sidewalk but not from a big distance or very hard), and I really can't think of anything else that is causing the problem. Can someone please help me fix my player so I can start playing my music files again? Thank you.Message Edited by jjc92787 on 05--200707:0 AM

No unfortunately not. I don't know how to escalate this to Apple tech but I think that is the next step as I believe it is IOS based problem, not user related.

  • Can't import some CD's into iTunes library

I have the latest verson of iTunes on my MacBook. When I try to import some CD's into the iTunes library, it ejects the CD back out. It doesn't happen to every CD; just some. What is causing this, and how can I import these CD's into iTunes?

Thanks for the suggestion. CD's are clean; no finger prints or dust. Still can't import into iTunes. A little background-- I had iTunes on a PC previously. When I transferred the library to my MacBook, I noticed some CD's were not transferred. This is one of the CD's I had in iTunes on my PC, but is now not in iTunes on my MacBook. Why can I not add this and some other CD's to iTunes on my MacBook?

  • Mixture of mp3 and wma files on my muvo

I got a muvo tx last week as a gift. I copied about 250K of mp3 and wma files to it from my laptop running windows xp pro. The player plays all of the mpe files with no problem but won't play any of the wma files. The wma files were ripped from a cd using Windows Media Player.
Any advice on playing the wma files will be appreciated. The little manual that came with the player says it will play mp3, wma, and wav files.

    JimR,
For WMA audio files with DRM protection, you will need to use either Windows Media Player or Creative MediaSource application to do the transferring of the files to the player. Only by using these application can the license be transfer to the player to allow playback.
Try ripping the Audio CD again but this time go to the Windows Media Player 9 setting option and ensure that the 'Copy protect music' option is disabled.
