Can't import native AVCCAM files with Mountain Lion OS

I used to be able to edit AVCCAM files with the Panasonic plug-in in Final Cut Pro 7, but since updgrading to Lion, I can no longer import the files.  Is there a workaround?

  • Can I import Sony .mts files with seperate audio layer into AE?

I can import .mts files from my Sony SR11 OK but the audio is in the same layer as the video content.
When I go to Edit/Edit in Adobe Audition and Audition opens Audition reports in details box, "Error:File not supported by any currently registered plug-ins."
The Audition Audio Plug-in Manager shows no available plug-ins.
Can I import the .mts file as seperate layers as one can with Premiere Pro? Alteratively perhaps, what plug-ins should I look for to add to Audition?

AE doesn't separate audio. You'll have to do it elsewhere, possibly in Premiere Pro or tools like ffmpeg/MPEGStreamclip. It's odd, though. since these components are the same in all the suite apps, a file that works in AE should just the same open in AU (without showing teh video in teh worst case). .mts is just MPEG2 or AVCHD in disguise, anyway, which the apps should open without a hitch - if it's not out of spec. I'd look into your camera settings, though. maybe you recorded to the wrong channels or an odd audio sampel rate and it's messing things up.

  • Windows files with Mountain Lion

Do I still need MacFuse and/or NTFS-3G to read/write Windows files from my MBA with Mountain Lion?

    install osxfuse (current 2.5.0)
(not macfuse which is no longer maintained)
    https://github.com/osxfuse/osxfuse/downloads
install ntfs-3g (most recent binary 2010.10.2)
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/catacombae/
free version old-ish but ok-ish (gives an ignorable but annoying warning
"Did not receive a signal within 15.000000 seconds." on every mount ).

  • Can't install any .PKG or .MPKG files with Mountain Lion.

Some weeks ago I found out, that I can't install anymore any programmes that are packed in .PKG or .MPKG files.
Whenever I double click one of theese files, or when I try the "open with" option, I get a system response from TextEdit.App . . .
I tried already some of the advices mentioned in the community forum, but nothing worked so far.
Latest thing I tried was to re-associate these two file types with the Installer - but I couldn't find it anywhere.
I've got an iMac27, late 2009, 16GB RAM, equipped with the latest version of Mountain Lion.
Hope, you can help me - there are some updates (MS Office, MyTomTom, Logitech drivers, ...) that need to be installed.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dirk.

    I would go thus;
    1. Back up, preferably using bootable and verified clone(s).
    2. Boot into recovery and repair permissions/disc.
    3. Apply combo updater if step 2 was unsuccessful. (The link I have posted assumes you are running 10.7.3 as per your signature).

  • Can you import Catia V5 files with Acrobat Professional 8.2?

    Hi,
In my version of Acrobat Pro 8.2 there is tab called 3D tool under Tools> advanced editing.
It seems like it should be possible to insert a 3D file in a PDF in this version as well, but it will not recognize my Catia files.
Can I export my catia file to something that the PDF doc understands?
Catia will export to stl, igs, 3dmap, 3dxml, cgr, hcg, vps, vrl
Which formats does it understand, anyway ? I can not find any info in regard to this.
Do I need to upgrade to have this capability?
    Sincerely,
    ggaarde

With Acrobat Professional 8.2 the 3D Tool will only import U3D files.  To import CATIA V5 files you would need to have Acrobat 3D 8.1 or later.  In Acrobat 9 the name was changed to Acrobat Pro Extended.  You do get some huge 3D Tools with the 3D nad/or Extended apps.  However, if you can get your CATIA file converted to U3D format, then you will be able to create a 3D PDF with the Pro version of Acrobat 8.2.

  • Where can I find user system files in Mountain Lion?

I'm testing Mountain Lion on a separate drive at the moment. Can anyone explain to me how to find the system files in User> (name)> Library> Application Support? Or any of the system files at all? What happened to them?
I've always used this folder (in SL) to get to some specific files that I need to share with my wife.
    Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

Press Option key and select Go > Library in the menu bar. To show that folder, open Terminal and copy:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library

  • HT5409 Working with video files with Mountain Lion is horrible!

This functionality is horrible. You can't import or delete individual files as you could with previous versions of the OS. Does anyone know of a work around?

I guess that's where lots of people have problems moving to a Mac way of doing things.
You want to go to the file and do something with it.
I open an application that is going to help me do something with the content of the file and get the content within the application. The file is just a wrapper around the thing I want to access.
How do you pull 1 clip out with Quicktime?
I might be misunderstanding how you use quicktime player (if you use it at all), but from that link you posted, you open the AVCHD package in the private folder and choose a clip to open. Once open, you can export it to various formats.  They are all displayed in a grid. iMovie is the same for importing a clip. I would hope that Premiere has the same import function. Now that we've discussed this more, I don't imagine that is what you were doing at all. You just linked from that article to create a question.
Now, that still leaves deleting the unwanted clips from the card, which I don't have an answer for except that I always do that on the camera as I figure it knows what its prefered file format is. The last thing I want to do is mess up the card so that the camera can't read it.

  • Can't use 5.6 utility with Mountain Lion

I just got a new Airport Extreme - trying to use the OLDER Airport Express and non of the Airport utilities will work with it and 5.6 won't install.
    Help!
    Thanks!

AirPort Utility 5.6 is the last version capable of administering your original Express. It is compatible with Lion as well as Mountain Lion, however, the installer app will refuse to install it on Mountain Lion.
This dilemma is easily solved though. You simply need to extract the app from the installer package using a package extractor like Pacifist.
    Download Pacifist here: http://www.charlessoft.com/
Download AirPort Utility 5.6 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
If you happen to have an archived copy of the AU 5.6 app somewhere, such as a Time Machine backup or equivalent, you can simply restore it or drag the app to your Mountain Lion system's Utilities folder. It will run without complaint. It is only the package installer that is the problem.
Mountain Lion will not allow you to delete its existing version of AirPort Utility. Just ignore it. It and the older version (which will bear the unique name "AirPort Utility 5.6") can peacefully coexist.
Note: For those with Leopard or Snow Leopard systems you need AirPort Utility 5.6.1 (this is confusing - a later AirPort Utility version for an earlier OS X version - but it is correct).
Download AirPort Utility 5.6.1 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1536
If you have an older computer with a version of AirPort Utility earlier than 6.0, you can administer it that way as well.

  • Can't access Palm User Data with Mountain Lion

    Hi
I am now using Mountain Lion (10.8.6) and can not acces Palm User Data which has all my contacts.  I'm not very computer savvy and am not even sure what my old computer was running that allowed me to open my Palm Desktop software so I'm not  very comfortable trying to install another OS just for this application.  Is there another way to open the Palm User Data with another application?  I tried Text Edit and the data is corrupt.  Or is there any 3rd party software that could help?
    thank you.
    Madeline

Hey guys I've found the solution for this problem!!! You will can continue using the wifi conection! My Mountain Lion language is portuguese so i will translate how i think it is in english... go to sys preferences, click on network, than select wifi and click on advanced button, select the hardware tab, on set check it as manual, and then check MTU mode as personilized. It will show a number (problaby 1500) set it as 1400 or lower and click on ok! After that, everything will work again! I hope that helped you all! Thanks.

  • Can't mirror to my Vizio with Mountain Lion???

I just downloaded and installed Mountain Lion and have lost the ability to mirror my Macbook Pro to my 32" Vizio.  I am using a Macbook Pro 17" (May 2012 and max out on everything) and it was working fine until I upgraded.  What gives?  Anyone have a solution other than, "restart the computer?"  That's why I left the PC world!  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Sorry forgot to mention I am sending signal to Vizio by HDMI.

  • Can't Import .avi xvid file with Premiere Elements 11

I just purchased Premiere 11, and it won't import an .avi xvid file. The codec is installed as reported by G-Spot. And the file imports to Win Movie Maker just fine. Any known problems here?
    Thanks

I have used Premiere Elements 11 for a few years and never had any problems with codecs, it ran .avi files fine, but then my hard drive started sending failure eminent warnings so I saved everything I could (for some reason I was never able to save a backup with my old system), I got a new hard drive, loaded a clean new Windows 7 install and built my system from there.
When I got to the Premiere Elements 11 and used it I noticed it came up with the "no codec for .avi" message that I had never seen before and would not play the same .avi movies that I had played with it hundreds of times before.
I was a little baffled so I went back and installed my old Premiere Elements 8 that I used to use and same codec message came up.
I remembered that I had some other video players installed on my old system so I went back and installed the old players one by one.
    1. Cyberlink PowerDVD from the original Dell install didn't fix the codec problem.....
    2. I had the "REAL" player on my old system so I installed it next and it didn't fix the codec problem....(The new "REAL" player live is a little to aggressive for me so I uninstalled it when it didn't fix my problem)
    3. I had Quicktime installed so I installed it again and BINGO, my Premiere Elements 11 now plays .avi files like it used to.
I won't guarantee it will work for everyone but the basic Quicktime player is free so it won't hurt to try it (And it definitely worked for me)

  • Can't install Epson stylus 230 with Mountain Lion.

Everytime I go to install the software from the website, I'm being prompted that I'm not the Admin and to log in as such.  Well I am the Admin.  Contacted Epson support and they said its the OS. I've restarted and redownloaded the software several times but nothing works. Ideas?

Thank you for providing the information.  It certainly helps in trying to replicate what you are experiencing.  First, let me say that you really shouldn't have to download software from the Epson site.  The latest drivers would normally be pushed by Apple's Software Update.
If you specifically want the Epson Scan software, then you would have to get that from Epson.   I personally do prefer the Epson Scan software over the standard Image Capture software, but that is only my opinion.
ILn any event, I followed your directions.  I downloaded two files. The main printer drivers was a file epson14341.dmg and the Epson Scan software was epson14339.dmg.  I did get two prompts.  The first was to say I wanted to open the software downloaded from the web.  The second was a standard authentication for the installer.  Screen shots below.
Are you getting a chance to enter your username and password?  Can you post a screen shot of what is preventing you from installing the software?

  • How can I sync Exchange/GroupWise calendar with Mountain Lion and iOS 6.1?

On my iPhone I have defined the GroupWise server and I'm receiving every calendar events but it doesn't sync to my computer.
Any idea why and how to fix it?

Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
Only if you're running Snow Leopard and your employer will allow access (different than iPhone/mobile device access, so most likely not), but not needed - keep reading.
Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
No. It was true, but with the v3.0 software that changed - you can now sync your Exchange contacts and calendar over the air, and your Address Book and iCal via iTunes over the docking cable.
What is the best work around for this?
None needed. When you set up the exchange account, and choose to turn on syncing of contacts and calendars, you will be prompted to remove all other data, or keep it on the iPhone. Choose the keep option. Note that in that case, your personal data will not be uploaded to the Exchange server - the iPhone keeps them separate (although you can choose to view them in a merged fashion).
I have this set up on my phone (Exchange calendar along side personal and other calendars from iCal). Same for contacts. Works great.

  • Sharing Windows XP files with Mountain Lion Macs

We have a mixed network with a Windows XP PC acting as a file and application server (no choice the application is PC specific). Just introduced a new user with a new MacBook with 10.8.2 and some (but only some) of the folders in the main shared directory on the Windows XP have a no entry symbol. Is this something to do with 10.8.2 or have I just not set up the Windows permissions correctly?

Thanks for trying to help. I wish it were a domain but unfortunately not and the PC is XP as it supports an old shared program. I may have found a good enough answer in KB 304040 but that will have to wait for the MacBook Air that was showing the problem to visit again.
