Can't import projects to GB on IPad which are exported by GB on IPad

I have recorded over 110 songs on the IPad with Garageband. Lately GB started to react kind of leggy, which makes sense because GB was taking up the bulk of the memory on the IPad. Now you can export complete GB projects files and delete the original song, however if you do that, the exported versions of the files remain on the IPad. So I did the best clean I could come up with: I exported everything (.band) directories and made a clean install on the IPad of GB. Now here is where the sadness begins. It is not possible to import the xxx.band directories back into GB, so I'm not able to work on the IPad on the songs that I made on the IPad. I feel quite devastated. Anyone with a solution for this? (I run Itunes on my PC so a Mac solution is not a solution for me).

By new version I mean the version that was just released on Wednesday, Version 1.2 (178.87).
I haven't made much music with it, have only been checking it out and since I was not able to share files between the two devices, I haven't really used it. Only tested it as of yet. But since I just got the Apogee iJam, what I've done is import songs that I created on my PC with FL Studio, minus the guitar track, so I can jam along on the iPhone.

Can't import project from older version

I can't import project into a newer version of final cut as the project is whited out.and when i do get around it the error says:
The document "CurrentVersion.fcpevent" could not be opened Final cut pro cannot open files in the "final cut pro event" format.
I'm working in 10.0 and trying to open on another computer in 10.1.4
Any ideas would be great.

10.0 and 10.1.4 are very different, but in neither of the the procedure included "opening" such files.
In 10.0, you simply let the content be in the designated locations and the program would find it.
In 10.1 and beyond, projects and events reside in libraries, which are now like regular FCP X "documents" thare are opened and closed in the common way documents usually are.
To use older material, you need to update it. This is done by letting the stuff in its original locations, starting FCP X and doing File->Update Projects and Events... This creates a new library with your old material.

I have the same problem and apple needs to fix this - but in the mean time you can manually select the vertical photos then "import - import selected" and you can get your verticals. We need a better fix. THIS IS A BUG!

For example, if there is a human face, where one part of the face is facing the camera and the other part of the face is only partially facing the camera, can we make this face look totally at the camera? If you are wondering why you are not getting any responses, it is because you have vented a complaint without any details that make any sense or give anyone something to work on.
If you want help, I suggest actually detailing what has happened, with versions of software etc. Anything that would let us assist.
As a start I am guessing that you have not really got the hang of "How it all works". Firstly download the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf from under the Help menu. Read that and view the Video Tutorials in the same place. A good addition would be the iWork 09 Missing manual book and something to help you learn how to use your Mac.

Can't import Project to iMovie

I dragged a project out of iMovie to the desktop, but can not figure out how to import it back to the iMovie event or project.
After I dragged it from iMovie, I deleted the project from iMovie but now want to import it back into iMovie.
The desktop icon ends with ".rcproject".
When I open the desktop icon, it shows Project, Proxies, & QuickLook.
When I open iMovie and try to import the project, it shows on the desktop but is dimmed.

When source clip is missing, it usually means you have moved, deleted, or renamed the Event folders which are used by the Project. It could also mean that you have moved, deleted, or renamed some music or photos that were used in the project.
The solution is usually to move them back where they were.
You can think of iMovie as a database. The Project is a text file in hexadecimal that contains the paths to the event clips that are used, as well as in and out points, titles, links to music, links to photos, etc.
The physical clips are kept in the Event.
If you move stuff around in the Finder, the project does not know where to find it.

How can i import .pmd files into Indesign CC, which where created with pagemaker?

i have a problem with a new Installation of indesign cc... i can*t import old .pmd Pagemaker files into it!!
it was possible with Indesign cs6, but apparently no longer..!?
..is there an extension or anything else i could use?

..well, the fact that i can install an older Version of id is an releave...!but! the fact that i cannot open .pmd file in id cc is .. in my humble opinion
a bad sign of things to come.. i mean sooner or later adobe will completely cancel the ability to download/use id cs6 ... and then what?... buy an old version of pagemaker
or id 1..cs6?

How can I get a birthday reminder from items which are in the read-only cal

I am looking for a solution to get a reminder message for birtdays which are within the read-only calender imported/updated from he address book. I so far have not found the option where to turn on the reminder and I do not want to duplicate items (ie creating another birthday calender inside iCal).

Hi ontour,
This limitation is one of the many reasons I wrote Dates to iCal. It is a replacement for the Birthdays calendar in iCal, so you would need to turn the Birthdays calendar off in iCal's preferences.

How can I import into iPhoto, from my iPad, albums created on the iPad using Photos App ?

I take about 300 photos a day using my iPad, as i'm filming to help keep continuity.
I then create albums under the scene number from some of the photos taken. Eventually i will build up all of the scene numbers in the script.
I want to import into iPhoto all of these albums.
How can this be done?
For some reason, when i plug my iPad into the laptop, it won't import screen grabs or all of the photos.
So the fact i have tried to be super organised, the apple software is now letting me down !
Can albums created in the iPad now be imported into iPhoto as albums to keep my organisation ?

That is not a feature of iPhoto - suggest to Apple - iPhoto Menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback.
With the new Photo app later this year the integration between IOS and the Mac will be much greater

Can I import projects from the full version of Final Cut Pro X from when I was using the trial version?

So I recently purchased the full edition of Final Cut Pro X, and was wondering why one of the projects I was working on at the time it expired imported back into FCP without asking me, but the other did not. I really need to use this file, but it is in the format of .fcpproject, so I really don't understand why I am not able to use it. It sometimes says when I try to open it that the version of that project was made in an updated version of FCP, or something to that affect, so it cannot be used. I have no idea why it says this, because as far as I know that is un-true. Any ideas?
Edit: I also don't want to delete the trial yet, a little apprehensive, like maybe I need it. But I might if it comes to that. I suppose the time did run out so it is practically worth nothing...

You do not open fcpproject files. You don't double click or anything else. The files have to be in the correct folder structure in the Final Cut Projects folder and the application opens them automatically. Can you post screen shots of the Final Cut Projects folder and its location.

Can't import SD card photos from iPad to Mac

So I used the camera connection kit to move photos from an SD card to my iPad, I now need these phtots off my iPad however when I go to iPhoto to import all the pictures on my iPad it informs me that there's a little under 2000 pictures on my iPad.
I know for a fact that there is more than that, in the About section on the iPad it tells me that I have a little over 6000 photos.
On a Windows machine the folders in the DCIM folder are names as follows "100APPLE" "100IMPRT", there is one folder named "***APPLE" and 101 through 148 of the "***IMPRT" folders.
Does anyone know where my pictures have gone? and how I can get them to my iMac from my iPad?

I can't import Keynote files into my iPad from MobileMe

Firstly, I have spent an hour or two on the web and on these forums trying to solve my problem. My goal is this: I want to open presentations on my iPad that I created on my Mac Pro. Simple enough? But every time I try to open any presentation (I store all my data files on MobileMe) I get the error "Presentation couldn't be imported. Keynote only supports documents created with iWork '09." That error message must be wrong on several levels. Firstly, today I downloaded the latest version of Keynote from the App Store for Mac. And it goes without saying I have Keynote for iPad. Why then does Keynote for iPad refuse to import any Keynote for Mac files. My files are simple: two lines of text and two images. Another thing that's wrong with the error message is that just before the error I get "Downloading 10KB of 4.0GB". but my file isn't 4GB, it's 1MB. Is the latest version of Keynote on the Apple App Store for Mac OS X not current? Do I actually have to go buy a box set of iWork to be able to access my files from my iPad? Isn't the App Store's Keynote good enough? What could I possibly be doing wrong?

Hello MiniMe2. I am steaming just like you and my iPad lost the magic, I am looking at it right now with dissapointment, not taking it as serious tool but as some sort of paper weight, nice toy. I would advise you to save your presentations using Tools/Share Print/Send to iTunes menu items in Keynote presentation. That is what I have been doing ever since, but recently I am not able to bring back some of my presentations from iTunes even know I have had using them numerous times in the past. Error message: "Presentation couldn't beimported." So I cannot give you this advice. Can you imagine the horror? Iam up front of people who depend on my presentation and I cannot bring it up.So I did half *** presentation using my own unreliable memory. I am sure that my audience and my boss were not impressed, extent of damage could be even looking for new job, but you think Apple cares laughing all the way to the bank?

Can't import a Numbers 2.1 iPad app doc into Numbers 3.1 iMac.

I purchased Numbers 2.1 for my iPad and created a document. I opened Numbers 3.1 on my iMac and tried to import the same document a couple of days later. I got a message saying I needed to upgrade to the 3.1 version of Numbers for my iMac, which I already have had since January 2014. I can't find a way around this. Has anyone had a similar experience?

You may be opening the old version of Numbers, which was moved to a subfolder of the Applications folder named "iWork '09".

Can't import images using iCloud on iPad and Mac

Yes. I have followed the "easy" instructions of the Apple site for setting my up my icloud account and sign in with both devices. Yes I have seen every imaginable youtube video of how to's and followed the steps. I am connected to the internet, signed in with icloud in both devices, ticked automatic upload of photos, photo sharing, etc. Now where do I find the images? are they automatically imported NO and if I enter icloud from the internet can I see my images NO!
and if i followed the easy steps to import them using iphoto, it just says something stupid like "import the photos" yeah...how???!!

Othe fact is when i go to the icloud.com the photos are not there either. I made an album on the ipad and "shared" manually the photos for icloud and nope, it doesnt work.
How did you share the album?
You can share to a shared Photo Stream and publish that stream as a public webpage on your iCloud webpage. Is taht what you have done? Then you need to use exactly the url, that is given, when you publish the webpage. It is not linked on your iCloud page.
If I wanted download manually the photos to iphoto I cant I cant because the icloud icon doesnt appear in the left menu of iphoto like the one you are showing, it doesnt display either a shared button like the one you have in your screen and it doesnt explain at all how to import images.
Let's compare the settings on your Mac:
In System Preferences - you say you are signed into iCloud, o.k.
Did you enable the options for "Photos"?
Check, if bot "My Photo Stream" and "Photo Sharing" are enabled.
Otherwise iPhoto will not show the iCloud options.
In iPhoto you should see the iCloud panel I posted as a Tab in the iPhoto Preferences panel.

I can't import mp4 files onto my ipad originally from my panasonic camcorder. files from my 'bloggie' work fine. any help available please?
