Can't import purchased music from iPad to MacBook Pro's iTunes

I bought and downloaded classical music albums to my MacBook Pro's iTunes.  They have also apparently been automatically synced onto my iPad's iTunes.  Then I purchased and downloaded successfully four classical albums to iPad's iTunes.  But when I manually synced the iPad's iTunes with the Mac's iTunes, only one of the four paid albums was fully transferred so it can be played from the MacBook Pro's iTunes.  The other three albums only show notices in Mac Book Pro's iTunes that they are "purchased", but there are no digital files that can produce sound.  How can I get the digital music files of these purchased albums to be downloaded onto the MacBook Pro's iTunes so they can be played there?

Yes you can. Connect your iPad to your computer, open iTunes, select your device on the left side, right click on the name of your iPad and you can select transfer purchases.
You must authorize your computer as well in iTunes from the menu at the top under Store.

  • Why can I no longer import Mp4r files from my desktop (Macbook Pro) to iTunes??

Why can I no longer import Mp4r files from my desktop (Macbook Pro) into Itunes?  Seemed to work perfectly well before the latest upgrade.  Feeling quite annoyed, especially when all the forums seem to give the same advice, which no longer seems to work!!  Please can someone help!  Uploading a file should not be this difficult!!!

Make sure you have the Quicktime Player 7 installed.  It was an option when installing Lion.  Or you can get it here: QuickTime Player 7 for Mac OS X v10.6.3 or later.  Install it, reboot and try again.

  • How to transfer music from iPad to MacBook Pro?

I have recently purchased a MacBook Pro and would like to copy the music library from my ipad onto the MacBook. Can anyone advise me please on how to go about it, as I struggle. Many thanks.

    There are two ways:.
    1. A Sync will do it. If it does not work for you, check the various tabs in iTunes and confirm that the appropriate boxes are checked. You can decide which apps, music and videos will be transferred.
    2. Use Vibosoft iPad/iPhone/iPod to Mac transfer app
Vibosoft iPad to mac transfer program can copy everything from iPhone,iPad, ipod to computer for backup, I used it for long time, really powerful and worth a recommend! there are so many similar software like: Coolmuster iPad to computer transfer, iStonsoft,

  • I'm having difficulty importing purchased music from iTunes store to my new MacBook Air

I am having difficulty importing purchased music from iTunes to my new MacBook Air

What problem are you having ?
You should be able to copy your library from your old computer : How to move your iTunes library to a new computer. Or if both computers are connected to the same wifi network then you could use home sharing to copy it over. Or copy it from your backup of your downloads/library and add it via File > Add To Library.
You might also be able to redownload some/all of your past purchases via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage,or by going into iTunes > Preferences (command-comma) and ticking the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tickbox - it might then show in the Music part of your library with a cloud icon against it for redownloading.

  • Why can't i purchase music from an overseas store

Why can't I purchase music from the US ITunes Store when based in AUS. I can't even find the music I want in searches unless i search overseas.

This has been covered here many times already, but once again: Apple has no choice in the matter. It's due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders.  Quoting from This Business of Music (10th Edition) (by M. William Krasilovsky and Sydney Shemel et. al,  Random House LLC 2007) (and thanks to the Mimico Kid for the reference) :
The difficulty of establishing workable business models for digital files (...) extends to where they are sold and where they are played. This is the issue of territoriality, and it is an illustration of how the Internet makes it necessary to reexamine basic assumptions that have been taken for granted (...).
(....) In the music business the primary problem is that copyrights are national and therefore specific rights are tied to national laws and the interpretations of national courts.
(.... T)hough we can one day hope to see the development of common standards with respect to copyright, the fact that the music business is building upon a history of nation-specific contractual relationships means that the goal of universal international standards is not, for the forseeable future, a practical one.
(...) Adding to the difficulty (...) the copyrights themselves may have been assigned to different companies in different territories. The best hope for a cleaner start and a simpler future is worldwide recognition that digital uses are in fact - and should be in law - totally new.
The content owners don't like cross-border sales of CDs either, but there's nothing they can do to stop such sales. They can, though, and do stop cross-border download sales, since if the download stores refuse, the rights holders won't license the tracks to that store.
So unless and until the record companies, et. al,  all get together and agree to allow download stores to sell cross-border, there's absolutely nothing Apple or any other download store can do.

    Hi There
You can only transfer purchased music from your iPod to iTunes using iTunes. However there are third party utilities that you can use to retrieve your music, just do a google search or have a look on http://www.versiontracker.com
    Hope this helps

Music Rescue also works as far as restoring your playlists etc. I've used it twice, you can use the Quick Recover mode, but have to click continue trial (something like that) allot, cp. to purchase option. Otherwise diesel is right as far as restoring via  your purchase history.
Here is a review of Music Rescue.

Use the backup of the old computer and copy the iTunes files to the new one.
However, since you are writing here, you probably didn't have a backup, so check out this user provided support document https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
