Do these CD's show up when you go into MY Computer and can they be played by some other program, such as Windows Media Player?
Also, are these CD's ones that you have created and burned yourself or are they shop bought CD's?

  • Can't import some cds to itunes

    Hi
I am unable to import at least 10% of my cds into iTunes. Get the error message: "The file [track/cd name] could not be converted. You don't have write access for your iTunes media folder or a folder within it. To change permissions select your iTunes Media folder in the Finder, and choose File>GetInfo".
I did this several times and made sure I had permissions to read/write, but still can't import many cds.
    Would appreciate your help!
    Rob

Just reinstall it. Back up as soon as you can.

I am having problems importing some CDs into iTunes on a laptop with Windows 8. Most CDs import without problem. The ones I can't import can be imported into iTunes with Windows 7. Does anybody know why this problem is occurring?

First-off, this seems to be a general problem with 10.4 (across all the operating systems of which I am aware).  Unfortunately, I cannot provide a permanent solution but, if you need a quick fix, this will (hopefully) work for you.
For some inexplicable reason, iTunes no longer recognises standard Windows paths.  For example:
    Y:\Music\Buddy Holly\Buddy Holly - Rave On.mp3
The end result is that it will import a playlist with no content.
It will, however, recognise the equivalent Apple paths which look like this:
    file://localhost/Y:/Buddy Holly/Buddy Holly - Rave On.mp3
It is possible to convert your existing playlists using a few basic replace commands in something like Notepad.  In my case, I made some code changes in my music manager and now generate two sets of playslists (one standard and one to accommodate iTunes).
Forgive me foir stating the obvious but please remember to make sure that the disk / path containing your music is accessible when doing the import otherwise you will probably get a blank result.  Note that you can do a bulk import by selecting all the (revised) playlists and dragging them onto the iTunes sidebar.
I am sorry that this is not a "clean" solution but it will work if you are in a bind.  The only alternative of which I am aware is to wait for Apple to fix the problem.

  • I recently imported some CDs, the songs loaded fine, they play on the computer and all, but when I go to put them on my iPhone, they don't show up.  Yes I have tried manually selecting them, that too has failed.  This is infuriating, please help!!!!

I have imported some Cds, they play fine on the computer.  When i sleect them to go on my iphone they never show up, this whole icloud set up for music is really annoying.  i wish itunes woudl go back to the way things were, a simple click on a song/album/artist and boom, theyre on your ipod. now you have to finish a maze, get a masters degree, and then solve three riddles before you even can import something from a recently imported CD.

Have you tried deleting the songs from Settings?
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage (not the iCloud link!) -> Music and then click Edit to enable you to be able to delete.

  • Can't import some photos from iPhoto to iPad

I can't import some jpg from iPhoto to iPad. It gives me an error message that the photo can't be displayed on an iPad. There also doesn't seem to be a way to reformat them in iPhoto. They are just jpegs downloaded from a digital camera.

Deleting the photo cache from the computer and then re-trying the photo sync has worked for some people - the location of the cache, and how to delete it, is described on this page

  • Can't import some MP3s into Centrale

$Can't import some MP3s into Centrale?I've been using Centrale with my X-Fi for a couple of years and have managed to tag and import 000s of mp3s wothout problem. I recently downloaded 2 series of podcasts from Absoluteradio and despite all attempts, can't import them.
I've double checked the tags - no problem. I can drag the podcasts into Centrale and transfer them directly onto the X-Fi and they play fine.
Whenever I try importing them to the library, all that happens is that the message 'transferring to library' flashes up at the bottom of the Centrale window and the counter at the bottom right very quickly counts up from of 30, 2 of 30 etc.. But the?author, album or tracks never actually get imported.
Any idea what could be different about these podcasts? I've checked properties to make sure they're not protected.
If anyone would like to help me diagnose this, the podcasts are at www.absoluteradio.co.uk - examples are the Baddiel & Skinner and Dave Gorman series.
    Thanks
    David

Try to play a few of them in another player to verify that they are good MP3s. If so, treat them with a tag cleanup program such as MP3 Validator, and then iTunes will usually accept them.

  • Importing Some CDs not Possible?

I have trouble importing some CDs. While usually Itunes picks up my CD and asks to import when I put it in the drive (on my toshiba laptop), sometimes, it simply does not react, or a player pops up and starts playing the CD, but itunes, doen't act on it. I've tried going to file, and importing, but i cant seem to get that to work either. Thoughts, help, etc
    daniel in buenos aires

This is usually because of some copy protection added to the disk by the manufacturer. Have you tried ripping the CD using another program then importing the files to iTunes?

  • Problems playing/importing some cds

Anyone have problems playing/importing some cds? Most cds are fine, but some that play fine on other players skip badly or won't play/import at all on itunes.

Jackie, no one did it intentionally, thanks to the wonderful folks at SonyBMG. This is exactly why I started boycotting copy-protected disks 18 months ago when I was still using my PC. My opinion is neither here nor there, let's get you to the thread that's already working on this issue. Richard Merenbach on this thread struggled through & worked out a "fix" that got his drive up & running. I would suggest you try his "fix" first, instructions are posted in the other thread. Please let us know on that thread how you are doing because several of us are monitoring the thread.
PS-Sorry it took so long to answer, just got home from work.

  • Can't import backup CDs

I'm trying to transfer my iTunes library from one computer to another. I used the tutorial on this page: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302392
I burned the songs onto CD-RW cds. When I put the into my Macbook, I get an error saying the cd cannot be read. How can I solve this problem?

  • Can't import some video's

Ik can't import all video's in my itunes library. I can import some of them. Can somsone tell me what kind of format, numer of bits, and so on what the video should have to import it?
    Greetz

Well iTUnes does not support .AVI files. When you try to add a corrupt file or a file format not supported by itunes to its library, Instead of giving you a message why its not being added, it simply does nothing, does not add the file nor give you any message

  • Can't import some photos?

In iMovie 09 I can't import certain photos from iPhoto library (or directly in Finder). Some photos when dragged into the Project Pane just don't get added to the project. All my photos are jpgs and they're all larger than the project resolution I'm using.
Some photos do work - and I just can't work out what the distinction is. Is it a bug - or is there something with the type of photo I'm using.
I didn't have this problem in iPhoto 08 - does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks
PS I've got Advanced Tools enabled

Have you tried deleting iPhoto's and iMovie's preference files?
    (Found at Home(YourUserName)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iphoto.plist; and com.apple.imovie.plist)
With both iPhoto and iMovie closed, drag these plist files to the trash. New ones will be created when you reopen the apps.
The iMovie plist file may say iMovie8 or 9. Be sure to trash the correct one.
I had this happen to me 2 nights ago. None of my photos would import into iMovie. Trashing iM's plist resolved the issue.

  • Try as I might I can not import my CDs, along with their info into iTunes. Either they arrive complete or without the artist, album or cover... I am using v10.5.3.3. Any ideas?

Try as I might I can not correctly import my CDs. Either they come in complete or they arrive without info (i.e. Artist, Album, cover page and so forth). Any ideas on how to solve?

Try posting in the iTunes forum sinc you have an iTunes issue not an iPod touch issue.

  • Can't import some CD's into iTunes library

I have the latest verson of iTunes on my MacBook. When I try to import some CD's into the iTunes library, it ejects the CD back out. It doesn't happen to every CD; just some. What is causing this, and how can I import these CD's into iTunes?

Thanks for the suggestion. CD's are clean; no finger prints or dust. Still can't import into iTunes. A little background-- I had iTunes on a PC previously. When I transferred the library to my MacBook, I noticed some CD's were not transferred. This is one of the CD's I had in iTunes on my PC, but is now not in iTunes on my MacBook. Why can I not add this and some other CD's to iTunes on my MacBook?

  • ITunes crashes when importing some CDs

I am running iTunes 6.0.3 on 10.4.4. This latest version of iTunes has improved my ability to import audio CDs, but I still often see crashes of iTunes when importing into MP3 at 160 kbps (I'd imported long ago at 128kbps).
I have tried all the things recommended in other threads: removing the CD Info.cidb file, removing the com.apple.kernelcaches folder and Extensions.kextcache file. I see similar problems when running iTunes as another user, and have repaired the disk using Disk Utility when booted from my Tiger Install DVD.
As a test, I've tried importing from a particularly obstreperous CD as AAC, and it imports fine. Other MP3 bitrates also crash iTunes.
Given that importing as AAC works, but MP3 doesn't, are there any suggestions on perhaps reinstalling whatever portions of the OS that handle MP3 encoding? I have installed LAME, but the library paths in the crash logs only point to real system libraries. I did an Archive and Install when I updated to Tiger (and that was after installing LAME).

did u get this resolved? i have the same issues...
