Can't Import songs from Pink CD. ( titled -Try This )

Normally after inserting a cd itunes shows me that is sees the cd but when i insert Pink's CD (try this) Itunes does not see it. So i cannot put any songs onto my ipod. This cd has an enhanced section (video) is this why this cd cannot be seen by itunes. I've looked at the cd in Windows explorer and cannot see the songs either. Can anyone help as i suspect other cd's could have the same problem, any way around this.
Regards Lisa

I just checked out the description of the CD on amazon.com. It's copy protected which means it is crippled and you may not be able to copy it using iTunes. I would suggest that you return it to the retailer from whom you purchased it, politely explaining why and then right an equally polite letter to the record label. But that's just my opinion.

  • How can i import contacts from another AIM account to this new one

If you reference my last ichat question, you will see that I have had serious problems and had to create a new account.
How can I import contacts from another AIM account to this new one??

    Hi,
Use AIM for Mac and use the Export and Import features.
Other than that it is a question on making sure every Single Buddy has more than just their Screen name in the IChat Address Card so it is added to the Address Book and dragging them back from there

  • Can't import songs from music library to itunes!

I have no problems importing songs from audio cds into itunes, but it won't recognize any of the files that i have in other folders of my computers (in mp3 format). and when i select 'import' and these songs, it just doesn't do anything. any suggestions to help??? thanks!
    dell inspiron 4100   Windows XP

Most of them are files burned from an audio CD onto another computer, and then saved onto a USB device and then transferred onto my computer (I no longer have the original CDs, hence the roundabout procedure). some of the files however, are simply from 'my music' folder that i had previously burned onto my computer before installing itunes. i've checked the status of all the files--and none are protected. any suggestions? thanks!
Reknath, where did these files come from? If there
were downloads from other websites, they are probably
protected & that's why you can't get them into iTunes.

  • Can I import songs from two different Macs using home sharing?

I have two MacBooks and a IMAC G5.
I set up home sharing but can't seem to import songs from PC one to another.
I was able to do it but now 2 of my PCs are using Yosemite.
I want to move my music from, Macbook, to iPAD, to iPhone to iPOD.

You can't use home sharing to put music on your mobile devices from your iTunes library, you will need to sync them.

  • Can't import songs from iTunes

I want to import songs from my iTunes library. When I click on the audio button, I can see my library of songs but I can't click and import them. I can drag the photo to desktop and then into iMovie but that feels like Windows.
I am having similar issues when importing music for slideshows in iPhoto. Maybe it's an iTunes issue?
    Any sugestions?

I have a similar problem ..but I know what it is . ( the original post here is very old )
The tracks were deleted .. but the playlist in iMovie never updated to the new playlist.
I can NOT figure out how to manually update the playlist to reflet the real iTunes library.
    Anybody know?

  • Can't import songs from CD using iTunes 8.02

I noticed a few (random) corrupted music files following upgrading to iTunes to 8.02, and decided to try reload them from the CD's. The computer would add a few complete songs, but some would not load completely. (I only tried this with one CD, although I noticed songs from different albums were 'corrupt') ) This happened (the clipping) when using both the internal and an external drive.
I checked using another available computer and all of the songs on the CD were added correctly with no clipping, this computer (an Intel MacMini) was still running iTunes 7.7.1 and 10.4.11.
I found instructions how to revert to iTunes 7.7.1 and after 2 tries got it to work, and I was able to import @ 1/2 of my songs from an external drive which had not been used with iTunes 8.x. And also the songs from the CD that were giving me trouble when running iTunes 8.02. Of course I could not reload from +the library+ that was created with iTunes 8.
I'm slowly adding the rest of the tunes by dragging them into the iTunes window, but I would like to know if someone can recommend a good program or script to compare the 2 iTunes libraries so I don't miss reimporting any tunes.
    Thank you.

Are these CDs you burned yourself or are the commercial CDs? To get the information on commercial CDs, iTunes connects to an online database so make sure you are connected to the internet when you import. You also have to be connected to use the "Get CD track names" function. If you made the CDs then the track names will be seen as Track 01, Track 02 etc. and the information has to be keyed in again by hand: See if this helps explain things a bit better than I have: How iTunes remembers Audio CDs

  • Mac OSX 10.6.8 can't import songs from cd

When I try to import a cd, only certain songs show up in my iTunes library. During the import process, it appears as if all songs are importing correctly.

Does it happen with all your CDs?
If it is only one particlar CD, error correction may be interfering. Try to disable error correction in the iTunes Preferences and try again to rip the CD.
To turn on error correction when importing songs from CDs:
    Choose iTunes > Preferences.
In the General pane, click Import Settings.
Disable “Use error correction when reading Audio CDs.”
Insert the CD and import the songs again.

  • Can't import songs from iTunes to my iPod

I'm not sure if I have a problem with iTunes or my iPod, but I'll try this forum anyway. I already asked this under the iTunes category.
Basically, there's a sudden problem where, for the life of me, my iPod will not accept new music. It shows up fine under "Devices" in iTunes and I can import music from a CD in iTunes (which is almost exclusively how I import music). I normally highlight the songs from my library I want to import and I drag them to my iPod icon under "Devices".
I've tried moving the lock switch on and off, clicking the "sync" button, and looking up features in Preferences, but I can't seem to find what to do.
Oh, and I also can't add album artwork to songs already on my iPod.

    Hello Organs,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Since it sounds like you are trying to manually manage your iPod's contents, make sure you have the *Manually manage music and videos* option enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab.
Otherwise what happens when you do try to drag music over to it? Do you get a red circle with a line through it or anything at all?
Oh, and I also can't add album artwork to songs already on my iPod.
If you manually manage your iPod's contents, you'll need to manually remove these songs from under your iPod via iTunes and drag the new copy with the artwork back over to it. Yes, very tedious, but that's what manually syncing is all about.

  • Totally lost with iTunes 11 . . . . can't import songs from my Mac etc.?

I upgraded to Mountain Lion a couple of months ago and have just opened iTunes 11.
I seem to have a handful of items there but cannot remember installing them.
I have tried importing tunes from my computer by going to File>Add to Library and also dragging and dropping but nothing seems to happen.
I have also read that you can get the old iTunes look back by clicking the button at the top left of the interface and selecting as appropriate but the only button seems to be the one labeled "Music" by default which has nothing useful underneath it.
These are 3 of the rather useless layouts I can access.
Is there something wrong with my iTunes installation or what am I doing wrong?

It appears that one of the reasons I could not import songs is because iTunes 11 only seems to recognise .mp3 or .aac
I had been trying to import .caf and .aif
The old version used to recognise most audio file types and would also convert mot types to another ........... so long as they were .mp3, .aif or .caf

  • Can't import songs from CD to iTunes

I recently bought this CD and want to import the songs to my library. However, iTunes does not recognize the the CD is even in, and this external player pops up that is part of CD. When I try another way and remove the songs from the CD itself I cannot even find the songs. Can you help me in extracting the songs from the CD?

No, there is not way around it. I would be returning it to where you bought it as a defective CD. These discs do not even meet book standards because of the copy protection. I would politely explain why you are returning it, that you can not download it on to your system because of the protection. Most of the regular posters in these forums, as a matter of principle, do not buy CC-CD's because the record companies are denying the consumer (us) our fair use rights.
I will get off of my soapbox, now.

  • Can't import songs from CD

I can't import the songs from Ryan Shupes Dream Big Album. I-Tunes can't find the songs on my CD. If I transfer the song files onto my computer and then try to import them I-Tunes tell me I am not authorized to import them and that if I have the CD I should use it to copy from. Any ideas?

I just checked out the description of the CD on amazon.com. It's copy protected which means it is crippled and you may not be able to copy it using iTunes. • Can't import songs from Home Share library

    Hello,
According to "Tunes Mac 9.0 Help - Sharing your iTunes library across computers," I should be able...
"- To import items from another computer, select the computer (below Shared), and drag items from its library to yours.
    - To automatically import iTunes Store items that are downloaded to a computer you’re Home Sharing with, select “Automatically import new purchases from [Computer Name].”
However, despite the fact that I performed all the right steps, and both computers see each other shared libraries, I can not drag items from one library to another, nor can I find where to select "Automatically import new purchases..."
The second computer is a Windows 7, hopefully this is not the problem.
Help! Massive searches did not bring more info.
    Thanks,
    -Dima

I just noticed this problem for the first time today. I've never had trouble dragging and dropping items from my home shared libraries. Today - no way. For context, when I first accessed the shared library (on my PC) today from my Mac, there was the usual, togglable (entire library or just those not already on the importing computer) "import library" button at the bottom of the pane. But after I toggled to "not on my computer" (or whatever the option is called) and dragged a few new ones to the my Mac, I got a message saying "no can do, home sharing needs to be activated." This apparently was a casualty of a hard drive restoration yesterday, so I reactivated home sharing, and that's when the current problem reared its ugly head, both on my Mac and on my PC.
