Can't install 6.2.9 Update

Just heard about the demise of AppleWorks, so I thought I'd better check to see if there were any updates I'd missed. Sure enough, my version is 6.2.7 and the latest (and last!) update is 6.2.9.
I downloaded the 6.2.9 Updater from VersionTracker, as it no longer appears to be available here. But the updater kept trying to find AW in the "AppleWorks Additional Fonts" folder. And of course, AppleWorks is really in the "AppleWorks" folder.
I renamed the "AppleWorks Additional Fonts" folder to something else, and now the Updater won't run at all! It says "The default location required for this install could not be found. This install will be cancelled." I renamed the folder back to "AppleWorks Additional Fonts," but the Updater still refuses to run.
Any suggestions?

Usually the reason for the "default location" error is that the language of the updater & that of the installed version of AppleWorks 6 don't match. This is most common with the two versions of English updaters.

I recently build a brand new computer with Windows 7 64bit. I had deactivated my product from my old computer and reactivated with no problems. However, I now can't install any of the updates for Bridge and Photoshop CS5 Extended. I get an error message stating "Failed to install updates". Please Help

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.

Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

A version of software required to install this update was not found on this volume." I read the threads about installing update package failed and reinstall Office follow: http://www.office.mvps.org/install/reinstall_office2011.html, but, I can't install update package still.

Actually, I have one hard disk drive only and there are two partitions on it, and I installed Mac 10.6 and Office 2011 on partition 1 and installed Mac 10.7 on partition 2 recently, is it the point of the issue?
I removed the Office 2011 installed at partition 1 by running "Remove Office 2011 Uninstaller.pkg" introduced in the "http://www.office.mvps.org/install/reinstall_office2011.html", after did this, I can't install 14.1.0 update package still, the problem is same.

I cant complete the install of iTunes 10.6.3, no.

But it does install so much that its useable, but doesnt fully install and doesnt complete mobile device application at all, so i cant sync or even connecty iPhone to itunes.

How can I install Adobe Photoshop Elements Update 9.0.3 after I get a message that Installation has failed and the solution is not in troubleshooting or forums?

My Photoshop Elements 9 stopped working a couple of weeks ago. When I clicked the PSE button nothing happened. I tried this several times over a few days and it still failed. I uninstalled the program and re-installed it. It worked well. Then I tried to install the Update 9.0.3. The download was almost successful. When it was about to show 100% successful for the download, an error message said the installation had failed and that I should try later. I tried this many times over a few days and the same result occurred. I tried troubleshooting and the answers to questions, but I could not find an answer. I don't know where to go to see if anybody has answered my question. How can I install Update 9.0.3?

i have installed the leopard os last week (erase and install) i can't run software update and the manual 110MB updater doesn't work, instead i get this message:
+"You cannot install Mac OS X Update on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."+ i also get the same message when i try to install the keychain update.. my startup disk has a free space of 25GB and i have fixed the disk's permissions before running the installer..
please help me to solve this.

If you have more than one account now (e.g., one created during the install, and one/more restored from a back up), have you tried installing the combo (110 MB) update from the account you created during the erase & install (the very first admin account created)? If not, try logging into that account and try installing the combo update and see if the problem goes away. Then do a permissions repair (it might take a while).

(Xperia Ray) Can't install Apps after ICS update !

HI everyone.
I bought mine (Xperia Ray) couple of days ago and updated It to ICS with the update service software.
now I can't install any apps.
when I click the install button (The picture) where It shows the permissions the app needs, nothing happens.
when I Click the cancel button, (obviously) It cancels the process.

Can't install Mac OS X Update Combined

I have been trying to install this for a few weeks. I get an error during installation. It downloaded fine but every time I try to install it I get an error. I even tried to download and install it from the apple website. It says "You cannot install Mac OS X Update on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
Can anyone help me here?

Can't install 11.0.07 update

I have Acrobat XI (not Reader, not Pro).
Installation of the patch gets up to a certain point, then rolls back with "error 1063."
Manual download of the 208M patch, and then running it "by hand," produces same result.
Using MSCONFIG to reboot in as pared-down a mode as possible (no startup programs, few services) produces same result. (Can't install in "safe" mode since Win doesn't load the "system restore" service there.)
Patch worked fine on desktop, but not on otherwise-fully-patched MS Win 8.1 Update x64 notebook (Sony Vaio SVP13).
I like being fully-patched, so this disturbs me. But I can't think of any way to get this patch to "take." I suppose I could completely uninstall Acrobat and reinstall from scratch--is that my only next step?

Sorry about the inconvenience, we are trying to reproduce the problem internally. Meanwhile, based on the logs and error code, we have a few suggestions. Please follow the workarounds given below:
Workaround #1: Reboot your machine and re-try installation.
Workaround #2 (if #1 does not work):
1) Navigate to the following folder on your machine: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AdobeApplicationManager\AAMSetup
IMPORTANT: Before you proceed to step #2, please note the versions of the following three files in this folder:
AdobePIM.dll (under sub-folder “resources”)
iASUVersion.dll
Set-up.exe
To find the version, right-click on the file, choose Properties > Details > File Version. Please send the three file version numbers to [email protected]
2) Next, please delete the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AdobeApplicationManager\AAMSetup
3) Repair your installation by visiting: Add/Remove Programs > right click on Adobe Acrobat 11.0.06 > Change > Repair the installation.
4) Re-try installation
Please note that it is important that you verify the file versions as that will help us debug the problem further.

I am unable to install the 10.5.2 update on my PowerMac G5 system. After providing my administrator password, the system displays the following message:
The update “Mac OS X Update” can’t be saved.
You do not have appropriate access privileges.
The Installer package has been moved to the Trash. To try again, open the package from the Finder.
What is needed so that the software update can be installed on the system?

You may be able to skip some of this and just try updating with the downloaded 10.5.2 combo updater from Apple if your computer is still up and running successfully.
I was screwed to the point where my computer wouldn't start up on its own, but it's all good now.

Have you tried reseting the iPod? Notihng is lost?
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
