Can't install a font I need for work - please help! 10.4 ={

Hello,
So I am trying to install this font on my work computer, which is old and has os x 10.4.11 (tiger?). I have downloaded the TTF file onto the desktop. When I double click to install it, it says I need to choose an application and none of them I tried will work. I have a brand new macbook myself and downloaded the same font - worked fine because I could put it right into font book.
The problem here is that I cannot find font book anywhere on this computer and have not found any helpful discussions on how to re-install it or about different ways to get this font downloaded and usable. I have tried everything I can think of. I would just make these damned brochures on my own computer, but then they won't convert to this one.
Anyways, super frustrated - any advice/places to get font book/or something else I could use would really help. I don't even care if it's a round-about way of doing it, I just NEED this font!!

Is the font compatible w/Tiger?
The Font Book is inside the Applications folder. If it is not there, use Spotlight to search for it. If Spotlight cannot find it, you can custom install Font Book directly from the system DVD that originally came w/your MBP. Use the custom install option. It should be inside the Bundled Software folder. If not, there, it will be inside the Applications folder.

i am also trying to install limewire after having to reformat my harddrive after a virus attack. it comes up with a message telling me it could not launch because of an error opening the java. it then says im to download the latest version of java to run it. ihave never encountered this before and have in the past had to reformat my drive and managed to successfully install limewire so why cant it work this time? any ideas? im desperate!! been spending hours to try and fix it

Can't access a portal I need for work!

I get the following message when I try to access a work portal.
"If you are having issues seeing parts of the portal, please use Internet Explorer (with Compatibility View selected) or Firefox as your browser. "
Does this mean I can't access it with my MacPro using Safari??? Any suggestions on how I might correct this would be appreciated. Thanks.

There might be a work around for you...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Back to the menu bar, click Develop > User Agent then try IE 9, 8, or 7, for that site.
If that didn't work, if you have not done so, install Firefox > Mozilla Firefox Web Browser — Free Download
Always good to have a spare browwser installed in case you have problems with Safari.

I want to use webcam on linux. But the JMF on linux is unable.
I have follow the instructions on Sun. But there were always errors. Then i used JMFDIAGNOSTICS to test my JMF. It reported:
JMF Diagnostics:
Java 1.1 compliant browser.....Maybe
JMF classes.....Not Found (But I do have set the CLASSPATH to the location where I installed the JMF in)
Can anybody do me a favour?
Is there anybody have successful experience on using JMF on linux? if so, can you give me some advice?

Ah? As already said, it isn't possible for you to manually install languages. You need to flash a different software variant of the phone which contains that language built-in.
So better is to visit the Nokia Care Center and ask them to do the job

I think I'm having a very similar issue. My iTunes is stuck on a version 9 & won't allow me to upgrade it. My MacBook Pro won't read my iPhone through iTunes until a version 10 or newer is downloaded.

If you are running Lion or Mountain Lion, the drivers are downloaded from within Bootcamp Assistant. If you are running Snow Leopard the drivers are on your Snow Leopard install disk.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
