Can't install a toolbar

I have an exe file to install a toolbar that is supposed to be compatible with IE and Firefox.
When I install it, IE opens up fine with the toolbar but FF doesn't even show it listed under View- Tolbars.

Probably not the answers you were hoping for but it does give you more time and workarounds. It is very unlikely that Google would change their mind as Google Chrome does not have it and both Firefox and Chrome can do everything with or without extensions. Please mark as solved. Have 500 unsolved problems that Firefox is not responsible for makes solving other problems harder to wade through.

I try to download firefox 2 but it just goes back to 5.0 and can't install google toolbar

I have windows XP. I evidently have firefox 5.0 but then can't install the google toolbar, which I want. So I downloaded firefox 2 because it said that the google toolbar wouldn't work on firefox 5. I downloaded firefox 2 a number of times and still get the message "google toolbar won't run with firefox 5.0
I don't know how to switch from firefox 5.0 to firefox 2.

I would imagine it's the MyWay Searchbar which is classified by most anti-malware scanners as adware, or even worse as spyware. I say that because I see "SmileyCentral" in your list of plugins and that's an add-on for that particular toolbar. You can disable that via Tools | Add-ons | Plugins.
There are a number of toolbars which won't work with Firefox 4 anymore due to the enhanced protection mechanisms in the browser.

How can I stop being prompted to install REGANAM TOOLBAR at start up?

Everytime I start Firefox, a window comes up telling me to install REGANAM toolbar. I don't want to install it, but can't seem to avoid the prompt.
I have gone into the Control Panel of Windows Vista and uninstalled the program, but the prompt lives on.

Somehow my "IPhoto" icon now says "Preview". When I click on "Preview" nothing opens up except the bar says Preview. When I click on the Preview on the bar, a box opens up with different items, except when I click on any of them, there is nothing there. The only thing that work is the "quit preview". However, it is still there where my IPhoto icon should be. I can't get into my IPhoto. How do I get rid of this "Preview" and how did it end up taking over the IPhoto icon???

How can i delete a toolbar that has been added?

Somehow I have a toolbar for a shop at home site that has been added to my list of toolbars. It takes over my browser when I'm surfing and takes me to places i have not selected. How can i delete this toolbar? I believe I have the latest version of firefox and i am running windows 7

This sounds like spamware you might have installed by accident. If you go into Add-Ons (Firefox -> Add-Ons) it should be under 'Extensions'. Click the 'Remove' button and that should get rid of it.
You might also find it under 'Programs and Features' in Control Panel. Remove it if it's there.

I doubt you can. Those browser toolbars are done by implementing to an API provided by the browser. That API, I don't believe, is provided via Java. But of course, that would be entirely up to the browser, not Java.

Updating Creative Cloud Desktop failure? It can't install as it thinks there are multiple versions?

As I signed in to Creative Cloud on my desktop,there was a little pop-up bubble from its toolbar icon (I use Windows 7 if that helps at all) saying there is a new update avaible,so it closes the Creative cloud window & quits the app,I press the bubble,it downloads, green bar almost full and everything, then say's it can't install as Creative Cloud is already on this computer,and I need to quit the current version,as its running (but it isn't) so I can't close it and it says to retry via the button and I press it but its completey unresponsive.... ? Its only a update,not a complete re-installation so why would It say that? I've tried to redownload several times and its always said exactly the same thing.

Have you verified the Creative Cloud application is not running in your task manager?
