Can't install a usb mouse on my HP G70-250us laptop.

I can't get a Logitech usb mouse to work on HP G70 laptop. Usually, it can't find a driver, and the mouse won't work at all. This is with Vista 32. After some research, I found that some laptops were having conflicts somehow with the Synaptics touchpad. Usually, with them the mouse caused the touchpad to stop working. Those comments were not about HP, however.
I also have an HP G61 with Win 7 64, and the mouse installs perfectly, and works fine at the same time as the touchpad.

Very few PPC Macs can boot from USB, most require Firewire... BUT, all 3 of my eMacs can & do boot from USB, try holding the alt or option key at bootup.
A USB<->FW converter will not work.

Can't get any USB mouse to work!!!!!

I have a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard. Everything was fine with my Microsoft USB mouse until 2 days ago when it stopped responding. I put it down to my son having dropped it and bought a Logitech M505 USB mouse today. This is not recognized either and won't work. I've tried plugging the unifying device into both USB ports but it simply won't work and I'm told there is no Logitech device plugged in. Can anyone help me? Please!?!

I used my USB scanner last night and that worked fine and also when I plug in the receiver for the Microsoft mouse the light comes on so I figure everything is ok with the actual USB port? In system profiler/USB I can't see anything that would indicate a problem. Where would I have to look exactly? Is there some kind of test I can run to see if there is a problem?

I have a problem with using my usb mouse.
Well.. I'm using laptop and there are two usb-3.0 ports.
One of them is worked correctly, but other is worked only with usb storage device.
When I try to connect usb mouse and keyboard, it won't work at all. ( nothing is printed out with dmesg )
I googled about this issue, but I couldn't find o.O...

I found some articles from ubuntu and they said it caused by usbcore because it tries to use 'new' usbcore scheme.
And the solution in there is

When I selected the Photosmart 7350, I was give the prompt that this device might be harmful to my hard drive. How can I install this printer safely? I do not have a disc with the printer. Depends on which license you are having, if you are having Creative Cloud subscription you can install the products on both windows and MAC based Opearing Systems. If it Creative Suite (CS) products it will be palform dependant ( mean if the serial number is for windows, the product can only installed on Windows OS ).

Can't Install Enhanced USB Host Controller

I keep getting these popups each time that I load windows xp that its found some new hardware for the USB 2. The hardware is the Universal Serial Bus Controller. However it does mention Intel 82801EB USB 2 Enhanced Host Controller -24DD. I let it search for the needed drivers but it never finds them or there is something else wrong. I keep getting "An error occurred during installation of the device. The data is invalid". Whatever in the hell that means!!! Any clues? I'm running the 875P Neo board.

Well the drivers for the other USB drivers were automatically installed when I installed Windows XP. The USB 2 drivers however are not installed for the hardware even though the hardware is recognized. I have the SP1 update installed. Here is what happens: when I load windows this screen comes up:

Can I use a USB mouse/keyboard over wifi?

So I'm pretty sure this won't work with an Airport Extreme's usb port but I want to be able to use my mouse and keyboard over wifi through my router. I found some USB servers that I think might do this, (http://tinyurl.com/nr478z, http://tinyurl.com/dc8ph7) but I'm not sure if these will support a mouse and keyboard. It seems like I could just plug these into the Airport through ethernet and just configure them to send the mouse, but..... they all only mention printers and hard drives and such. Does anyone have any experience with these type of products and if they will work for this?

Your hunch is correct. The USB port will work with compatible printers and hard drives, but not other devices.

Can't install from USB Thumb Drive

I'm trying to install MacOs 10.7 from Apple USB Thumb Drive on a 2011 MacMini, but when I restart from the USB drive apper on the screen a "X" and then the computer shuts down.

Is the system able to boot into the recovery/installer from the Mac OS X 10.7 USB Drive? Is this error occurring after you've started the install process from the USB?
You may have to completely repartition the hard disk drive with 1 partition and a GUID partition table. I had a similar issue when I moved a hard disk from a Windows machine and forgot to change the partition type.
Note: Creating a new partition table will make all data currently on the disk inaccessible, effectively erasing the data.
Here's the steps to repartition using the Disk Utility application available after booting the mac from the USB Installer.
1) Highlight/select the Mac's internal Hard Disk Drive (not the volume) in Disk Utility. The disk will be named something like "240 GB OCZ-VERTEX3", depending on your specific size, make and model. Basically the format is "Size GB Make/Model".
2) Click the "Partition" tab on the right side.
3) From the "Partition Layout" pick box select "1 Partition"
4) Click the "Options" button below the drive space diagram. Select the option "GUID Partition Table". Click OK.
5) Click the Apply button and allow Disk Utility to complete the task.
6) Quit Disk Utility and begin the install process to the Mac's Internal Hard Disk Drive.
The above resolved this issue for me and it makes good sense why it worked since the partition scheme/table on my drive was MBR and I changed it to GUID.

No it cannot be done. The video system is part of the motherboard and cannot be changed. Even if you were to change to the best HP 15 motherboard it has graphics much less powerful than the GTX 660 and the motherboard swap would cost as much as the laptop did to begin with.
