Can't install Acrobat 8 on New Computer w/Windows 7 64bit

The install hangs near to completion when tryng to load "Reader for Word.smrd"
It says "Error 1305. Error ready from file C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Acrobata 8.0\PDFMaker\Office\Reader for Word.smrd. Verify that file exists and that you can access it."

You may be somewhat successful if you update AA8. 64bit systems required at least AA8.2 under XP as I recall. Some folks have been successful with AA8 on Win7, not sure about the 64bit version. However, it is not supported and you will likely run into something along the way that fails. Since PDFMaker is mentioned, that will lilkely not work anyway with a new machine. I am assuming that you probably have OFFICE 2010 with the new system that requires AA X.

So, I am trying to install the newest version of itunes on my Dell with Intel i3 Windows 8- 64 bit system. I had itunes on my old laptop (running Windows Vista) and it worked just fine, but when I tried to install it on my new dell, I get as far as downloading (itunes64setup.exe) and after it is done downloading and I try to install it, it gives me a pop up that says something along the lines of "this app can not be installed on your system- contact software manufacturer for the correct version for your system" I spent several hours on the phone yesterday with an apple rep and they weren't able to resolve it either. They had my delete the itunes that I had just downloaded, turn off my internet protection and try downloading the same one again. It downloads, it just won't install afterwards. When that did not work either, she had me try installing the standard 32 bit version, still nothing. Then she had me install the older itunes 9.2 to see if that would install and then I could just update it afterwards, but that would not install either after downloading. I tried restarting my computer and then downloading it again, same issue. I've been using the newest version of Firefox, but I tried downloading and installing it in IE. Same issue. Tried IE w/out internet protection, same issue. As a last resort I saved the itunes installation from my old laptop on a flash drive and tried to install it on my new laptop from the flash drive and it almost seemed like it would work, it started the installation wizard, but after a minute it stopped and said that it was a 32bit version and that I needed the 64 bit version for my system. That is actually the farthest I had gotten with any of my tries. It would not even get to the installation box with any of the other tries!!! If any one knows a solution for this, I would be so greatful!!! I tried the tips from past discussions and it did not resolve it. HELP!!!

The same way you would have on an older computer. You run the install program from the CD or the download you saved. You will need the S/N to complete the install. If you are no longer going to use the old computer, be sure to deactivate Acrobat on that machine.

My old computer no longer works but has my adobe creative suite still installed in it. How can i install it on my new computer without being able to access my old one?

The hard drive in my old computer was fried basically and there is no way to get onto it again. I had adoe creative suite 5.5 and dreamweaver 12 on it but i am not sure how to install either of these onto my new computer now. Is there any other way to do this?

This isn't an "I told you so" but since I just learned how well it works, I'll pass this on to you.
START using Time Machine to back up...it's the greatest way to move all your old apps to a new / restored hard drive without all the cruft from the old one which probably caused the crash. If you ever crash again, reinstall the OS and then restore from Time Machine which will bring in all your apps and preferences and you will be right as rain in no time.

I have a new computer which uses Windows 8.1, and I am trying to download CS5. According to the system requirements, Windows 7 is needed. Can this be circumvented or is there an adaption of some sort to get it done?

Yes, it should run fine on Windows 8.1. Install from your disc or you can find the installers here: Download CS5 products. Either way, have your serial number ready.

If XP, try installing V1.7.2 instead.
A lot of people have been having similar issues on XP with ADE2.0 (as well as several other problems with it as well).
I suggest installing the older version 1.7.2 which seems more reliable.
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

For what it's worth I have Photoshop CS2 running fine on Vista x64, but I've not moved it over to my Windows 7 x64 machine. Generally speaking, things that work fine on Vista x64 work fine on Windows 7 x64.
That said, you might want to wait until you hear from someone who's actually tried the exact combination themselves.

You could copy the contents of that DVD to a Flash drive and then copy those contents from the Flash drive to your desktop of your new Mac. You could also download the ESD (Electronic Service Download ) of your version of Acrobat from the links below and then install it.
