Can't install Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows XP Home Ed V2002 SP3

Newbie hozer can't install Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows XP Home Ed V2002 SP4.  At end of install via CD it hangs restarting Print Spooler (spooler) and Windows Image Acquisition (stisvc) services, err 1920, and all I can do is click Cancel and it uninstalls the whole dad gum thing.  I tried kb.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403613.html.  Not fixing it.
If I could change the permissions on those services maybe that would help but I can't do it, I don't have a login with enough permissions, I guess...
So after the third time I just hard-crashed the hard drive when it got to the last ("can't start Windows Image Acquisition", cancel/retry) window and I did end up with the files on the HDD but... they won't install or delete now.  I'm infested.  Try to install in Normal or Vega mode, it now pops up a filled in userid/serial number box, and when you click ok or retype it, it says the s/n is invalid.  I keep having to reboot to get Windows Installer to let me start it (another permissions problem).  So I'm stuck. UpToDateTrendMicro doesn't find any evil doers...  the kb403613 sent me to this forum,
with hopes,
M3/   [that's MEL, or as close as the ScreenNameBouncer would let me get]

Not sure it will help, but try it when logged in as the administrator and with anti-virus turned off. As far as error numbers, must of us have no clue (there seems to be a list at Adobe, but we don't work there.

  • Can't install Acrobat PRO in CC using CS6 (mac)

    Hi Community,
In my Company we plan to upgrade to adobe CC (2014) on macs.
In the first step we try to use CC and CS6 together on some macs to ensure it's working.
But since the installation of CC Acrobat PRO X (from CS6) asks for the licence key again when starting.
Unfortunaltly the problem still exists after reinstalling the CS6 package.
In the CC i have no option to install Acrobat PRO XI.
From the Adobe support I've got the hint to delete a file called opm.db in users/Library-folder but this did not help.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?

  • Can I install Acrobat in a Windows Server 2008 for many users?

I'm looking for a solution for my enterprise to install Adobe Acrobat in Windows Server 2008 R2, where the users connect by remote desktop. I'm looking for a form for they use Acrobat by the same form they uses now Reader. But not for all, only for some of this users.
I called a responsible and he told me that I can install Acrobat for some users in Windows Server 2008 R2, but I'm not sure if that solution will be legal.
Can I buy a special license for it or I have to buy a license for each user? How can I proceed to do this, if it's possible?
Thanks in advance for you attention!

Use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock prefs or specify default values.
Place a file local-settings.js in the defaults\pref folder where you also find the file channel-prefs.js to specify using mozilla.cfg.
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0); // use this to disable the byte-shift
    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences
You can use these functions in mozilla.cfg:
defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, but allow changes in current session
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes
    <pre><nowiki>lockPref("app.update.enabled", false);</nowiki></pre>

  • Can't install Acrobat Pro 10.0.0 with Standard 10.1.8

In my organization everyone is given Acrobat X Standard which has now been patched to 10.1.8, some users need the advanced features of Acrobat X Pro. I have used Adobe Customization Wizard to create a transform file that puts tells Acrobat to uninstall any previous versions but since I am replacing a patched version with an unpatched upgrade I get the error:
"Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed. Setup will now terminate."
I know I can just manually uninstall Acrobat Standard but I would like to use this in an unattended and automated fashion like I have been prior to the patch.
Is there a way to have the Acrobat installer uninstall the previous version regardless of patch level?

Both versions are X so it's not a previous version of Acrobat.  So the correct workflow would be to script an uninstall of the Acrobat Standard installation using:
    msiexec.exe /x {APPLICATION_GUID}
    Reboot the machine
    Install Acrobat X Pro

  • Can't install Acrobat Pro

A few months ago I got the Creative Cloud 1 month Free trial, and I downloaded a bunch of apps: Acrobat Pro, ID, PS, Dw.
This morning I bought the 1 year membership, but when I try to launch Acrobat Pro, it says that my trial cloud membersip has expired. So, I uninstalled it, but the Adobe Application Manager still says that it is "Installed". And it was giving me the same message for the other apps as well: "Installed" but I couldn't launch them without getting that error message.
So, I unsintalled ID from my computer and re-installed it from the App Manager. I then was able to launch it and I can use it, no problem; I can also use Dw and PS. But for Acrobat X Pro  it says that it is "installed", so I can't download it (or use it, as I unistalled it).
I've re-started my computer but to no avail.
    I'm on a Mac, OS 10.6.8.
    Anybody knows what's happening?
    Thanks.
    Rene

    OK, i've fixed it.
    Navigated to /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.
And in "Adobe Installers" folder the Acrobat X Pro was still listed. I double clicked on it and it uninstalled again, and now it is listed correctly in the App Manager as "uninstalled".
    Everything is good.

  • Can't install Acrobat Pro 9

I have just installed the Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium on my G5 Mac (tower).
Everything was installed OK except Acrobat Pro 9 - it's just not there. I've had three goes at it now with no success.
The machine in question has had Acrobat Pro installed on another volume but I've run the uninstaller to remove all support files (which may have made the installer think that Acrobat Pro was already installed) but that made no difference.
I know it is supposed to get installed because I've done it numerous times before, plus it even says on the box that it's a standard part of the package but it doesn't show up as an option to install, nor as a successfully installed component at the end of the install process, nor does it appear in my applications folder.
    Help!

Insert the DVD and dismiss the install for now. That leaves the DVD on on the desktop.
Click on the DVD Icon to open the DVD ( then click in an of the folders and see what installers are there.
Below I will show a  some screen shots  to represent what I am talking about: They are not of the CS package but you get an idea of what I am talinkg about.
Click ⬆  it will open up     next you something simlar to these in that you should see Folders
IF while in finder you should be able to go to view menu and click on List view  you should see something list this:
Look in each of the folders and see what's there.
See if acrobat is on the DVD.
If not its not part of the CS5 collection.
If you have a copy of Acrobat on another CD you'll have to install from there and use the serial number with that DVD.
Remeber these screenshots are just to illustrate what I am talking about. (I used the install Disk for X.4 for the screen shots)
If it is on there use the uninstaller (if there is one) to uninstall the entire CS5 collection and remove any Preference, and Plist files, and file in application support, anywhere (except any data files you have created).  then Start over. install everything. Next don't touch Acrobat until you have opened another program  (example Photoshop) leave that program open then open Acrobat.  Do not open Acrobat first you'll be in the same fix you are now.

  • Can we install SAP server on Windows 7 Home edition

    Dear All,
I have a new laptop that has windows 7 home edition. Can we install SQL2008, SAP server, SAP client on that laptop? I didn't see it from SAP portal. I guess the answer might be no. But just want to see if there is any lucky answer. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

    Dear Yuka,
Unfortunately the answer is no. Windows 7 Home edition may not even support Client only. Professional, Enterprise & Ultimate Edition are supported for B1 client.

  • Can't install acrobat 8pro on windows 7 Professional

I am trying to install my old version of acrobat 8 to my new laptop which is windows 7 professional.
I get an install message that it is looking for "Adobepdf.dll for Vista".
What I can do to fix this? Thank you in advance!

All Adobe support for Acrobat 8 ended back in Nov 2011, about 5 years after that version was originally released (Nov 2006), and I'm not sure it ever was advertised that it was supported on anything later than Vista. Windows 7 didn't come along until late 2009, in the waning days of Acrobat 9.
Given the security concerns of older versions, I would strongly recommend upgrading to a more modern version. Acrobat X and later significantly changed the security model, and given the malware out in the wild that actively exploits older versions of Acrobat, I would seriously avoid unsupported versions.

  • I want to install acrobat pro on my two computer

how can I install acrobat pro on my two computer

    Hi two computer installation,
The end-user license agreement allows you to install Acrobat on up to two computers. You can download Acrobat on the new computer by logging in to your account at https://cloud.acrobat.com/acrobat.
Since you have a subscription, no serial number is required. You should be able to log in and use Acrobat as soon as you have it installed.
    Best,

There is so much to learn, discover, remember and try out I just don't know
    where to start
Getting this subscription made me realise how disorganised my filing system

I recently installed Acrobat Pro X on my Mac. I initially accepted the terms of agreement, but then every few seconds the same prompted window for the terms of agreement keeps popping up. Can anyone explain why this is happening, and how to resolve?

  • Acrobat Pro 9 & XI both installed on Mac. How can I uninstall Acrobat Pro 9 & not affect Acrobat XI?

Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and Acrobat Pro XI are installed on the same iMac with OS X 10.8.5.  How do I safely uninstall only Acrobat Pro 9 without affecting Acrobat Pro XI?
When I first installed Acrobat Pro XI, I thought maybe I was suppose to leave Acrobat Pro 9 on my computer.
So now I have both Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and Acrobat Pro 11 installed.
I see no benefit to having both installed. I want to uninstall only the Acrobat Pro 9 and not Acrobat Pro XI.
I am not sure that I can safely uninstall Acrobat Pro 9 without affecting the functioning and files for Acrobat Pro XI.
I started to uninstall Acrobat 9, but I stopped when I saw a warning in a little window.
I went to the  "Acrobat Uninstaller.app"  file in the  "Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro"  folder and double clicked it.
The Acrobat folder for Acrobat XI Pro came up with the file "Adobe Acrobat Pro.app" selected
I manually selected the  "Adobe Acrobat Pro.app"  file in the  "Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro" folder.
When I clicked on "Adobe Acrobat Pro.app" for Acrobat 9  a window with a warning came up. So I stopped.
"Uninstall will remove files, folders, and preferences installed by Acrobat from your system.
There is no undo available. User data files and directories shared by other Adobe applications will not be removed."
Should I go ahead and click [Uninstall]?
I don't think it will delete my pdf files.
Will this affect my Acrobat XI operating &/or preferences? Will Acrobat XI still function correctly?
What do I have to do to safely have just Acrobat XI on my computer without Acrobat 9?
    Thank you for any help.

I am trying to uninstall, I tried to uninstall, but I got the following message when trying to uninstall: "Invalid Application. The application selected was not a valid Acrobat application for this uninstaller. Please rerun the uninstaller." Acrobat 9 installation suddenly stopped working
    Can you help?

  • How can I manage to install Acrobat Pro XI in Safari ?

    Pascal Guernier May 5, 2014 8:26 AM
    Hi,
Someone can tell me how I can manage to install Acrobat Pro XI as the default PDF reader ?
Before I tried to remove Acrobat Reader XI from my MacBook Pro retina under Mac OS.X.9.2. With the help of Apple's phone support.
We did clear all caches in libraries and in other places. But, rapidly perhaps, I've deleted a folder name Reader with The XI version ? Was it Acrobat Reader or Acrobat Pro ? I don't know ?
Thank you for support because I'm in the french's taxes declaration...
    Best,
    Pascal

    Thank you for your question.
First because I was unable to save a document with a right click. Just able to print, rotate and nothing more. And a mini left screen's menu. Except thumbnails and page number, no option.  And all the Acrobat Tools were not proposed. Such edit, remove a page. Optimize And so on.
So I did believe it was a reduced version of Acrobat pro : Acrobat reader. A good tool too.
The possible solution suggested by an another user was to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat Pro.
In fact I succeeded by unistalling Acrobat Pro XI with the appropriate tool : an uninstaller. Located in the an adobe folder in Utility Tools. So I uninstall Acrobat Pro correctly. A cleaner is proposed for windows system at labs.adobe.com
And I erased by throwing it, in the TrashCan, Acrobat READER.
Then with Creative Cloud tool and my account I reinstalled Acrobat Pro XI.
And then I followed Adobe's manual tips. First I chose a Pdf file. With a right click. And in the contextual menu I chose Informations. Then I selected Acrobat Pro XI as THE défaut reader. With an option named Complete too. In order that any PDF file will be opened by Acrobat Pro XI.
    And it seems to work.
But your question is pertinent. Because if I had after a way to save the document with a Save icon, this doc. was a sensible one : my income taxes of 2013 provided by the french ministry of finance...
So I was able to save this doc. And after in Acrobat Pro with usual tools I did compile all the compulsory others pdf docs.
    Thank you and Best regards
    Pascal
