Can't install Acrobat XI Pro as keeps saying to quit Safari Notifications (which I've done)

Keep getting same message when trying to install trial of Acrobat XI Pro on iMac. Gets half way through then asks to close Safari Notifications. I've ruined these off in general & Safari preferences but still no joy. What next?

See if anything in here helps: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1322436

  • Can't install Acrobat X Pro-- installation halts saying that I need Internet Explorer 7.0 or greater

Operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate.
Acrobat 9 Pro is intalled and working.
I'm trying to install a trial version of Acrobat X Pro, but the installation stops early on with the error seen below in this screenshot. Any ideas?

    Acrobat 8 needs IE 6.0 not 4.0
    1) Try installing using MSI file instead of setup.exe.
    2) Enable MSI logging and provide the MSI log. Steps to enable MSI logging can be found here http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/223300
    3) What is the version of shdocvw.dll in "C:\Windows\System32" folder and in "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" (exists only on a 64 bit machine) folder.

  • Can't install Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows XP Home Ed V2002 SP3

Newbie hozer can't install Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows XP Home Ed V2002 SP4.  At end of install via CD it hangs restarting Print Spooler (spooler) and Windows Image Acquisition (stisvc) services, err 1920, and all I can do is click Cancel and it uninstalls the whole dad gum thing.  I tried kb.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403613.html.  Not fixing it.
If I could change the permissions on those services maybe that would help but I can't do it, I don't have a login with enough permissions, I guess...
So after the third time I just hard-crashed the hard drive when it got to the last ("can't start Windows Image Acquisition", cancel/retry) window and I did end up with the files on the HDD but... they won't install or delete now.  I'm infested.  Try to install in Normal or Vega mode, it now pops up a filled in userid/serial number box, and when you click ok or retype it, it says the s/n is invalid.  I keep having to reboot to get Windows Installer to let me start it (another permissions problem).  So I'm stuck. UpToDateTrendMicro doesn't find any evil doers...  the kb403613 sent me to this forum,
    with hopes,

Not sure it will help, but try it when logged in as the administrator and with anti-virus turned off. As far as error numbers, must of us have no clue (there seems to be a list at Adobe, but we don't work there.

  • Can't install Acrobat 9 Pro

I have tried to install Acrobat 9 Pro and keep getting "Status: Stopping Services"  "Services to stop: Print Spooler". I have called the service folks and have had no assistance. Anybody have a fix for this? Running XP 32bit with current service packs.

Such errors are system errors due to DLLs being missing or blocked. If you use any security tools, turn them off. Beyond that verify your Windows Update status and run all the necessary updates.

  • Can't install Acrobat X Pro

Trying to install Acrobat X Pro on Sony VAIO running Win7Pro 64bit. Always get toward end of install a "Rolling back action" msg as all the installed files are being removed. No problem installing on my XP computer. I've tried installing from hard disk (folder and files are not read-only), downloading and installing trial version, stopping all services (except Windows Installer), uninstalling all other Adobe products including Reader, changing language to UK English. I must admit that I haven't tried installing underwater yet, but considering it. Online with Adobe Support to no avail. Any ideas?

Try this Install Checklist http://forums.adobe.com/thread/569663?tstart=0 to see if it helps
Do a temp disable of your anti-virus (looks like you've done this)
Right click the install program and select Run as Administrator

  • I have a CC Subscription and I can't install Acrobat XI Pro

I have a complete Creative Cloud plan and I can use all applications correctly except for Acrobat XI Pro.
It says the trial time is over and I need to buy it, but I already have de annual subscription.
Doesn't creative cloud already includes Acrobat XI Pro?
    How can I fix this?
    Thank you!

    Hi inmg,
Which OS are you using? When you launch Acrobat you should see an option to License this software, click on it and sign in with your Adobe Id to activate.

  • Cannot install Acrobat X Pro. AAM says "installed" - but no sign of the "Launch app" option.

The Adobe Application Manager states Acrobat X Pro is installed but there is no "Launch App" option.
I have succesfully installed Ai, Ps and Id, but Acrobat X Pro is giving me a headache!
The app installed with a warning and 2 errors. (I did not save the text about this event - and I cannot repeat the operation that led me there,)
I can recall some detail from the text:
    • The installer could not remove data from an (old?) file from my Acrobat 9 installation.
    • There was a reference to the installer "lacking permission(s)" for some operation.
    • Also, some reference to my computer not supporting several "requirements".
I have since uninstalled my Acrobat 9 installation, but cannot uninstall Acrobat X Pro. (It is not listed under "Programs & Features".)
I also cannot re-install Acrobat X Pro - the AAM won't let me.
Any ideas? Can I download a trial-copy, then try to install that? Would it be recognized by the AAM?

Thank you, Baljeet - that worked well - However, the now installed Acrobat X Pro version 10,1.1.33 apparently needs a update/patch to upgrade Acrobat to vs. 10.1.3, and after much effort and many forum-suggested fixes, I cannot complete the update. (It "rolls-back" and reports an Error 1310. Error writing to file: C:\Config.Msi\2c4f05.rbf. Verify.......access to that directory.")
I have also received the same ("1310") error, but referencing a lack of sufficient "permission to modify....a certain file". (I can't now recall which file.)
To further complicate matters, my Secunia P.S. Inspector app also reported the need for an update - which did not complete either. It is now perpetually "Waiting for update to complete".
I hope you can solve this problem too! Thanks.

  • Possible solution if you can't install Acrobat 9 Pro via CS4 Installer

(Thanks to Paul_Belza for this idea.)
    Symptoms:
Acrobat 9 is grayed out in the Setup window of Creative Suite 4 installer.
Opening the carat reveals an incorrect explanation of: "Acrobat 9 is already installed."
You have more than one hard drive attached with an OS X install that has had prior Acrobat installs on it.
    Possible Solution:
Unmount all drives except your current startup drive and try again.
    Discussion:
Apparently, the Acrobat prior install scanner is not very picky about where it finds a prior install. It searchs any and all drives rather than just the current startup drive and/or the currently chosen install drive. In my case, I had a clone of my start drive so I could start the arduos process of making a manual deployment setup.
Since I was previously involved in the CS4 beta, I wasn't too phased when I initially encountered issues on this machine, but much less pleased when I ran all the official uninstallers, cleaners etc and it still claimed Acrobat 9 was installed. Eventually stumbled on Paul Belza's note that the scanner is indiscriminate, unmounted my additional backup drive and all was immediately well.
(Note: During the process, I also came across the fact that with a volume license Acrobat 9 Pro can be installed simply by mounting the extensions/Acrobat9_es.dmg (whatever it is called exactly) and dragging the folder into your Applications folder. As long as you have previously installed a CS4 app (so it doesn't hang at the serial number screen), it will self-repair and be ready for use.

Not sure it will help, but try it when logged in as the administrator and with anti-virus turned off. As far as error numbers, must of us have no clue (there seems to be a list at Adobe, but we don't work there.

  • Can't install Acrobat X Pro. Error message says I already have a more functional product installed.

I'm trying to install Adobe Acrobat X Pro. I continue to receive error messages saying I already have a more functional product installed. I have FM 12 and Adobe Reader XI.

    Hi Beth,
You should not receive this message if you dont have Acrobat 11 installed.
Try removing Reader 11 and check.

  • Can not install Acrobat XI pro in CC

For some reason I have got the anouncement that my Acrobat pro was a trial version. But I thought in CC it is not a trial version but a full version?
So I tried to uninstall this version in Utilities, and hoped that I could download Acrobat again. But in Creative Suite I got the message that it is still upt-to-date.
How can I download the full version of Acrobat XI Pro now?

    Hi MVCO,
On the trial screen of Acrobat when you launch the software, you can simply enter your Adobe ID to license it.
Your CC subscription is likned to your Adobe ID.
If you have removed the trial version of Acrobat and CC lists the application as 'Up to Date' then please refer the KB Doc : http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html
    Hope this helps.

    Rave
