Can't install Adobe 8.0 Professional

I have been trying to install Acrobat Adobe 8.0 Professional. I first get an error that Adobe 7.0 is still installed.
I have un-installed Adobe 7.0 Professional. I have also cleaned out the registry for anything pointing to the folder for Adobe 7.0. I have installed Windows Cleanup Utility. The window doesn't show any installed programs. It's blank.
So the 8.0 install says it will remove 7.0 if I click on continue. So I click on continue. It starts the install and gets to a window saying
"error 1714 the older version of adobe acrobat 8 professional cannot be removed"
Acrobat Adobe 8.0 is not in my add/remove window. I have tried the Windows Cleanup Utility. The window is blank. I have tried installing the Acrobat Adobe reader 8.12. And uninstalling it. I still get the error 1714. I have tried removing registry entries manually. I have tried Registry Mechanic to clean up the registry. I have tried JV16 to clean up the registry. I have tried removing the folders that get created in
C:\Program Files\Adobe
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe
C:\Documents and Settings\MyUser\Application Data\Adobe
All temp files.
What do I need to do to get this installed?
Thank you,

Thank you John,
I wish I would have known that days ago. I wouldn't have wasted that much time on my own.
I finally got it installed. I found some of the registry keys that need removing before version 8.0 will install.
I thought it would be nice if someone posted a resolution that would solve this install problem. I put this together and am posting this as a work-in-progress. This is not complete and not tested. Please feel free to add corrections to this thread.
This is meant to remove all versions of Adobe Acrobat reader 6.0 and 7.0, Pro and standard and all updates so that version 8.0 will install in XP. I have no idea if this will work in other OS's. This by no means removes all registry keys that get installed.
I haven't tested this. Use this at your own risk.
Make sure that before you run this you remove all versions through Add/remove programs first.

  • How can i install Adobe Acrobat 11 in german language

    Hello,
    a simple question.
how can i install Adobe Acrobat XI Prof. in german language?
I have the donwload option for german and this will download the AcrobatPro_11_Web_WWMUI.exe.
      --> Acrobat Professional
    11.0
    German
    Windows
Acrobat Professional 11.0 WIN ESD D
When i start the installation with this donwloaded file i have only Enlgish as an language option.

    Hi Sukrit,
thanks, but that doesn't fixed my problem.
Now i have a language selection in the setup process. i select German, the setup/installation windows are in German.
after installation the application is in English.
i can't change the language in the preferences. there is only English. the option "Choose at application startup" will be ignored. also when i start the application as administrator
It is possible that our company license key is language specific?
i try a normal installation with key and one as trail version. the trial version is in German.
i see this language setup option only if i select trial version during the installation.
As information, the OS is Windows 7 Ent x64 English and the regional / location settings is Germany.
    regards

  • Can I install Adobe Reader to a drive other than the C: drive?

Can I install Adobe Reader to a drive other than the C: drive?

    Hello there,
Welcome to Adobe Community. Yes it can be installed on a different drive. Though some of the files installed by it will still be installed on C: drive.
When you run the installer, use 'Change destination folder' at the bottom of the panel
If you already have Adobe Reader installed on the C: drive, you must uninstall it before installing a new version on a different location.
    Thanks!

  • Can not install Adobe CC with a school license

As the title says it, I can't install Adobe CC with a school license.
I still get updates and can install them but when I try to open Photoshop, Illustrator, ... I always receive the message about the license.
I received a PDF from school how I can install it because I already had a license from 2013.
I followed the instructions given in the PDF, Filled in all the codes, payed the Creative Cloud, but still I receive this message.
Can somebody help me, or does somebody knows what I did wrong?

Thanks for the response, but it is already fixed. There was a problem with a redemption code of the school and they fixed it.

  • LG MAXIMO ONE can't install Adobe Air

    Hi
Actually my problem is simple. I can't install Adobe Air Runtime in my device because I can't find it.
I've search for Air Apps in the Market and install a few. In the opening screen they all ask to install Adobe Air, when I search it just isn't found.
Is this my phone problem or the Adobe Air runtime is out of the market?
I am using Mac OSX Leopard. any tips on how to install it?
    Thanks for any tip.

    HI
I also can't find AIR in the marjet using HTS wildfire. This device comes with Android 2.1 and the 2.2.1 update was available which i did the update.
After that I tryed to find the Air in the Market and also can't find it.
Because this device comes also with flash player I thought that it would be able to run Air.
Is there any possibility to install air in this thing?

  • How can I install Adobe Acrobat without installing the browser extensions?

    Hello All,
I am a computer Technician at a high school and we have very strict browser requirements for different services. We need to use Adobe Acrobat to convert PDF's, and other tasks, and we need to use Chrome to open Adobe Reader files. The issue is that I want my 3 browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox) to open PDF files using Adobe Reader XI. All my plugin settings are correct to use Adobe Reader to open PDF's, but it either downloads a PDF to the computer, or opens up in the browsers default reader (Chrome does this), or opens up to a blank page with a blank error message. I went into the programs Internet settings for Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat and it's telling me the browser opens them up using Adobe Acrobat (With no option to change the setting). The problem is only solved when I uninstall Adobe Acrobat. Then I am able to open PDF's in Adobe Reader just like I want (but this gets rids of Acrobat). This leads me to believe that when I install Adobe Acrobat, there is a registry key or something that is telling the computer to open PDF's in browsers using Acrobat. My initial question is this: How can I install adobe Acrobat without linking it to the browser. I JUST want Adobe Acrobat as a program installed on the computer.
    Additional Info:
    - I build a computer image and use that image on several computers. This issue persists with all of the computers I installed the image on.
    - I am using Adobe Reader 11 (Now DC, but I am willing to use either) and Adobe Acrobat Pro CS3 (I think it's version 9?)
    Thanks for the help.
    - Charlie

  • Can't Install Adobe Air on Windows XP SP3

Every time I attempt to Run the AbodeAIRInstaller, it gives me an error, saying that it has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I have SP3, and am the administrator since this is the only account on the computer.
I'm not sure if there's anything I need to do prior to downloading this. This is the first time I've attempted to download AIR. I have all other free products but this one.
Performed all the troubleshooting steps like Uninstalling through Windows Installer Clean Up Utility , again getting the same error on installing.
When I right-clicked the installer for Adobe AIR, I noticed there was an "unblock" option at the bottom that most newly downloaded i
tems have to "protect" your computer. After clicking unblock, I can't even "run" the program. As soon as I double-click the installe
r, it gives the Windows Error (crash) saying that the program needs to close and I can Send or Don't Send the error report. Before u
nblocking, I was able to actually press "Run" or "Cancel".
I have absolutely no idea why I can't install Adobe Air, of all programs... If there's a possible conflicting program, or if I need
to have all current Windows updates (I haven't updated in a long time, but it's all security things, so I don't think that matters),
or if I need the Flex program for you to troubleshoot, I'll do it. This whole thing is just really frustrating me.

I hear ya. that's on an existing system with an upgrade. i've solved (well, resolved) a remote desktop problem with a rollback to sp2.
but on the clean xp pro sp3 system (1st app install after anti-virus and firewall), the cs3 install took about 10 minutes. very fast very smooth.
