Can't install application on mac exit code 9 : already installed

Hello,
This happens for the second time : the application cant get installed on mac os.
Logs reveal an error type 9 : application already installed, according to an old post on these forums.
It doesnt appear in Applications, as I can see, and Spotlight cant find the application either.
The point may be that an standalone version may have been installed once (and probably removed since it does not appear) but the customer cant remember that.
Is there a mean to remove all air application and stuff ?
TIA,
Thomas

Please, any idea where hidden files could remain ?

  • How can a JVM terminate with an exit code of 141 and no other diagnostics?

    Hello,
We are encountering a JVM process that dies with little explanation other than an exit code of 141. No hotspot error file (hs_err_*) or crash dump.  To date, the process runs anywhere from 30 minutes to 8 days before the problem occurs. The last application log entry is always the report of a lost SSL connection, the result of an thrown SSLException.  (The exception itself is unavailable at this time – the JVM dies before it is logged -- working on that.)
How can a JVM produce an exit code of 141, and nothing else?  Can anyone suggest ideas for capturing additional diagnostic information?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Environment and efforts to date are described below.
    Thanks,
    -KK
Host machine: 8x Xeon server with 256GB memory, RHEL 6 (or RHEL 5.5) 64-bit
Java: Oracle Java SE 7u21 (or 6u26)
    java version "1.7.0_21"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_21-b11)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.21-b01, mixed mode)
    JVM arguments:
    -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC
    -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode
    -XX:+CMSClassUnloadingEnabled
    -XX:MaxPermSize=256m
    -XX:NewSize=64m
    -Xms128m
    -Xmx1037959168
    -Djava.awt.headless=true
    -Djava.security.egd=file:///dev/./urandom
    Diagnostics attempted to date:
LD_PRELOAD=libjsig.so.   A modified version of libjsig.so was created to report all signal handler registrations and to report SIGPIPE signals received.  (Exit code 141 could be interpreted as 128+SIGPIPE(13).)  No JNI libraries are registering any signal handlers, and no SIGPIPE signal is reported by the library for the duration of the JVM run.  Calls to ::exit() are also intercepted and reported.  No call to exit() is reported.
Inspect /var/log/messages for any indication that the OS killed the process, e.g. via the Out Of Memory (OOM) Killer.  Nothing found.
Set ‘ulimit –c unlimited’, in case the default limit of 0 (zero) was preventing a core file from being written.  Still no core dump.
‘top’ reports the VIRT size of the process can grow to 20GB or more in a matter of hours, which is unusual compared to other JVM processes.  The RES (resident set size) does not grow beyond about 375MB, however, which is an considered normal.
This JVM process creates many short-lived Thread objects by way of a thread pool, averaging 1 thread every 2 seconds, and these objects end up referenced only by a Weak reference.   The CMS collector seems lazy about collecting these, and upwards of 2000 Thread objects have been seen (in heap dumps) held only by Weak references.  (The Java heap averages about 100MB, so the collector is not under any pressure.) However, a forced collection (via jconsole) cleans out the Thread objects as expected.  Any relationship of this to the VIRT size or the JVM disappearance, however, cannot be established.
The process also uses NIO and direct buffers, and maintains a DirectByteBuffer cache. There is some DirectByteBuffer churn. MBeans report stats like:
    Direct buffer pool: allocated=669 (20,824,064 bytes), released=665 (20,725,760), active=4 (98,304)  [note: equals 2x 32K buffers and 2x 16K buffers]
    java.nio.BufferPool > direct: Count=18, MemoryUsed=1343568, TotalCapacity=1343568
These numbers appear normal and also do not seem to correlate with the VIRT size or the JVM disappearance.

True, but the JNI call would still be reported by the LD_PRELOAD intercept, unless the native code could somehow circumvent that.  Using a test similar to GoodbyeWorld (shown below), I verified that the JNI call to exit() is reported.  In the failure case, no call to exit() is reported.
Can an OS (or a manual) 'kill' specify an exit code?  Where could "141" be coming from?
    Thanks,
    -K2

  • I keep getting Exit Code 15 - already went through solution 1 and 2 of the support sites

    I am on MAC OS 10.8.4, MBP 2012 17", 16 GB RAM

    Premiere Pro
    Dreamweaver
    Edge Animate
    Exchange Panel
    Extend Script
    Extension Manager
    Flash Builder

    SpeedGrade
    Touch App
I get Exit Code 15 everywhere with "0 fatal Errors and 0 Errors" except Premiere where it is "0 fatal Errors and 1 Error".
Tried Solution 1 with fixing accessrights on HDD and reinstalling - still same issue.
Tried Solution 2 with plist editing - get an Error in terminal while cleaning entries "No such file or directory"
So how should I fix this? Reinstalling OS is not an option.

Then Digitalsalate I would recommend contacting our support team.  Please refer the support representative to the internal version of the Exit code 15 installing | Mac OS X | CCM, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/exit-code-15-installing-ccm.html.  You can contact our chat support at http://adobe.ly/yxj0t6.

  • Can someone help with a mac error code -22

I have a error code -22 message when emptying my trash. Can anyone help me solve this? Thanks!

10.5.8 is as high as you can go for a download at this point. If you want a more recent OS you will need to purchase a disk with Snow Leopard (10.6) on it. Once that is installed you can go to Lion (10.7) or Mountain Lion (10.8) if your MacBook supports it, by a (paid) download.
    Best of luck.

  • Can the Mail applications on Mac and iPhone talk to each other?

I have synced my Gmail account to the Mail application on my MacBook Pro. During the day, I am out and about receiving, reading, and deleting emails on my iPhone, and when I get home and turn on the computer, I see all of those messages still there in my inbox, unread. Is there a way for the mac Mail app and the iPhone mail app to talk so that messages that are read in one place show up as read in the other place?

I could have this thread moved to the iPhone forum. The iPhone gurus hang out there... let me know if you want to switch and I will ask a moderator to transfer the thread. I don't want to give you the wrong information.
You could try searching this forum also. http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1144

  • RCP application on Windows JVM 1.6.0_12 crashed with exit code = 1073807364

A user was using my RCP-based application over several days. At one point, when he apparently wasn't actively using it, the JVM crashed with exit code 1073807364. After some research, I haven't been able to determine what this exit code refers to.
On additional, possibly helpful bit of information is that the hex equivalent 0x40010004 is used to indicate Windows task status. However, this app is not running Windows tasks that I know of, although perhaps RCP, SWT or the SQL Server JDBC layer is doing so without my knowledge.
Can anyone tell me what this exit code indicates, or how to find out?

  • PB 12.6 (build 3506) Application Exit Codes

    Environment:  Windos 2012 R2 Server,
    PowerBuilder 12.6 Build 3506
    Building 32 bit application
I've got a utility application that's running as a service.  We're using NSSM (the Non-Sucking Service Manager) to run the program.
NSSM can take actions depending on the exit code.
In earlier versions of PowerBuilder I could accomplish this by setting Message.LongParm in the application close or application system error event.
Now, that's not working and the advice I'm seeing tends more toward
    // External FUNCTION declaration
    SUBROUTINE ExitProcess(ulong uExitCode) LIBRARY "kernel32.dll"
    // Powerscript
    ExitProcess(50)
But that seems like it terminates the application and any clean up that might have occurred with a normal application exit isn't going to happen.
    my question is...
Is this really my only option or is there some other way I have not been able to find?
Secondary concern.. where do I find the full 12.6 manuals?  I keep ending up at SyBooks which only has documentation up to 12.0 and SAP PowerBuilder 12.6 – SAP Help Portal Page only gives me the new feature guide, installation and release notes, but not the actual documentation.

I am sorry if I somehow led you to think NSSM is the problem.  It's not, PowerBuilder is.
    The PROBLEM restated for clarity:
In earlier versions of PowerBuilder I could add code to the application close event that set Message.LongParm to a value and then that value would be accessible to a command file via the ERORLEVEL system variable.
In my current tests with PowerBuilder 12.6, setting Message.LongParm is not working so I Googled the problem and the advice I'm seeing tends more toward using:
    // External FUNCTION declaration
    SUBROUTINE ExitProcess(ulong uExitCode) LIBRARY "kernel32.dll"
    // Powerscript
    ExitProcess(<Value>)
But that seems like it terminates the application and any clean up that might have occurred with a normal application exit isn't going to happen.  That's not ideal.
    My Question is:
Is there any method exiting that will allow me to set that system ERRORLEVEL variable that does not require my causing an abnormal termination to my application?
Or is using the external function ExitProcess really my only option?

  • Can I install ARD on two machines?

I've just purchased ARD 3. Mostly, I'll want to use it from my office desktop machine, but when I'm on the road, I'll want to use it from my MacBook. Can I install it on both machines, and then have both machines as clients to each other?
    Thanks

You need to purchase two copies to legally install ARD on two administration systems.
Note that if all you need is to be able to control another computer, which is what most people want to be able to do from a remote location when it's only one computer, then ARD will be overkill. Look into the freeware VNC. That will give you control capabilities and not cost you anything. You can find VNC applications for Mac here. Most people seem to find Chicken of the VNC works well for them.

  • How to make BEX Customer Exit Variable inactive through Customer Exit Code

    Hi,
I had created two variables VAR1 and VAR2 as Customer Exit variables
If VAR1 is entered then it should automatically make the VAR2 as NO Entry Variable.
    vice versa also required.
can u help me with any code in CMOD so that we can make it inactive through Customer Exit Code.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Sunil.

What i want is not commenting the code
I want to make the BEX Variable as inactive by using the Customer Exit Code
EX : If value in VAR1 is entered  then VAR2 should become automatically inactive.
If value in VAR2 is entered  then VAR1 should become automatically inactive.
    how can this be done
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to troubleshoot "Exit Code: 6" error when installing CS5 (Mac)

So hey. It's been a long, long couple of days trying to figure out this error, and even longer (and more frustrating) trying to actually find someone from Adobe who can actually give me customer support. You think they'd have a bit more streamlined approach when taking care of their customers, but I guess that's why I am here, so lets find out
Basically, I'm trying to re-install my CS5 mAster Collection I got a few years back onto my MacBook Pro. I got it about 3-4 years ago from my college as a "teachers an student licensing," and it worked great.Amazing. Hallelujah.
Now fast forward to about 4 months ago; my Mac's Logic Board crashes. I spend a lot of time and money recovering data via a 3rd party data company, and FINALLY get my mac fixed with all files intact.
Problem is, all of my CS5 programs are gone, although i still have all the files I created with them. So I go to reinstall my Cs5; I still have all the disks (in mint condition) and my serial-code. I insert Application Disc 1 and enter my serial code, the installation gets to the point where it asks for Application Disc 2. I insert disc 2, and after awhile my Mac spits the Disc out and the Adobe Installation Manager says the installation was complete, but with errors, and only 2 of all the CVS5 programs were installed. When I checked the error log on the installation manager, it stated "Exit Code: 6"
I have looked up this code many time, but i just can't understand how to trouble shoot it. I'm not a programmer or a computer wiz, so some of the multiple multi-step process Adobe suggests for troubleshooting are beyond my ability or understanding. ALL I NEED IS SOME HELP; clarifying steps to trouble shoot this, understanding error code:6, advice on how to fix it, even a way for me to get in contact with and ACUTAL person from Adobe Customer Serivice.
Please, I am a Graphic Arts Major in college, and I can't afford to have this continue to be an issue. HELP ME.

Did you remove the bits of the failed install before going on? Try creating a new admin account for the install. If that doesn't work, try doing a fresh download from Adobe's site. Even if you bought the boxed version you can install the trial and enter your serial number.
