Can't install CS3 from disk to laptop with no disk drive. How to do it?

Bought Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium years ago, and have original disks. Want to install on my laptop which does not have a disk drive. Copied the files to portable drive and brought over that way, but setup won't work, giving an error message. What is the procedure for doing this? Thanks

Download the installation files and install using your serial number from the disc you have.

You can also download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • Close internet explorer message first when installing CS3 from disk.

When I attempt to install CS3 from my disk onto my new computer (with Windows 8) I keep getting an error message to close Internet Explorer first.  It is already closed.  What can I do?

    1.  restart your computer, then install.
    2.  you may need to use compatibility mode to install.
    3.  you may need to right click the setup file and click "run as administrator".

  • Can't install CS3 from discs on my iMac

With the "application" disc in the computer, it will start running the install.  Then it stops, spits out the CD and asks for the Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit 2 disc.  Where is that?  Be nice if the discs were labeled plainly!
I went online, found that application, downloaded it, burned a disc and tried installing again.
Once again, it stops and asks for the Toolkit, but when I put in my burned disc it tells me that I can't install two things at the same time.
I'm going quite nuts.  I need to be able to run the programs that I PAID FOR but CAN'T INSTALL.  Help me please!!!!

don't burn a disk. just install from the installation files like they were designed to be used.

  • How do I install Cs3 from disk, after trashing the trial version?

I've made the mistake of trashing the trial version of Cs3 that I had on my imac a few years ago.
Now I'd like to install photoshop cs3 on my imac as my other computer is out dated and I get the error message that CS3 is conflicting with CS3 on the computer.
I realise it was a mistake to trash the trial. Is there anything I can do?

Download the cleaner tool from the following location and select "CS3" from the pop-up menu. http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs5clean.html
It will show you all CS3 products installed on your machine and will also allow you to remove them selectively. Select the trial build and click "Cleanup".
Or if you have no other CS3 or CS4 application installed on your machine you can just click "Clean All CS3/CS4" to clean your machine.
Then try to install Photoshop CS3.

  • Can't install packages from local repository created with repo-add

    I did the following
    repo-add /mnt/packages/repo.db.tar.gz /var/cache/pacman/pkg/*
    cp /var/cache/pacman/pkg/* /mnt/packages
    on one computer
connected the hard drive to another computer and did the following:
added the pacman.conf configurations as follows
    [repo]
    SigLevel = PackageRequired
    Server = file:///mnt/packages
    then ran
    pacman -Sy
    which worked.
and then I tried to install a package using pacman -S.but all the packages give me :
error: packagename: missing required signature,File:///var/cache/pacman/pkg/packagename is corrupted(invalid or corrupted package(PGP Signature))
    then i tried:
    pacman-key --init
    pacman-key --populate archlinux
    pacman -Syy
which didn't work and made no difference.what can I do?

    anatolik wrote:
One thing that comes to my mind is that repo directories have *.sig files next to the packages, see file structure here http://mirrors.kernel.org/archlinux/testing/os/x86_64/
But cache directory /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ does not have these sign files and it is why pacman complains. Where to find the sign files locally? I do not know the recommended way, but I see that /var/lib/pacman/sync/$REPO.db contains signature information, so you can write a script that extracts it.
Or you can use `repo-add --sign` and sign packages with your key, but it is not very secure.
PS Instead of using repo-add you might want just use repo files from /var/lib/pacman/sync/
I will try the above and report.
but it shouldn't be necessary according to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pacman_tips

  • How do I install software from DVD on mini with no Optical Drive

I purchased Aperture on DVD at an Apple store in 2007 when the App store did not exist. The new Mac mini does not have an optical drive. I did not migrate applications from my previous Mac mini because it doesn't seem to let you choose which applications.  (I had several legacy migrations involved and didn't want that junk on my new mini.)  The App store, of course, does not know I've already paid for Aperture and wants to charge me to download it.  I discovered you cannot install from another computer's DVD just by mounting that DVD on the target computer.  It will tell you it can't install over the network.   It also won't let you drag the contents of the DVD onto the target computer (which worked with Office 2011).  It will tell you that method of installation is not supported. All Apple could suggest was to buy an optical drive which would have been almost anoher $100. Apple support doesn't seem to understand why Aperture is not in my iTunes purchase history (because iTunes didn't exist for Aperture then!)
I just had a wonderful discovery.  I found this support article that details how you have to turn DVD sharing on under Sharing Preferences on the computer that does have the optical drive, then you can use the Remote Disc under Devices on the target computer to request use of that drive. Finally, the installer will run.
I'm putting this info here because I searched but was unable to find this subject in the Support Community.  I'm sure someone has asked this question, but I couldn't form a query that would find it.
Article from Apple with instructions for Remote Disc
Now if someone could just tell me how to get the App store turned on for my copy of Aperture so I don't have this issue in the future when no Apple computer will have an optical drive!

Actually, when I followed that link, one of the related links in More Like This was a real find!  An actual download of Aperture, albeit a trial, but that would have solved my problem too.  I tested it and although it's embeded in a support article, the link to the trial version of Aperture still works.
Thanks!  Great info here if you can find it.

  • Can I install CS3 without disk? Have key registered.

My old laptop crashed and of course after my move, I can't find my cs3 disks.
I have my serial key registered through Adobe (shows up in my "sign-in" info when I log into the website) and all.
I tried finding the download files through the website but it kees tossing me to cs6 and well, I can't justify that money when I had cs3...
Thanks for the help in advance. I was thinking I'd try to contact adobe by email but apparently I can't do that and the call wait time is heinous and the link to chat apparently "has been deleted" anytime I click on it... Sigh.

  • How can I install winxp to bootcamp on imac with bad optical drive?

I have a mid-2007 20" aluminum Intel-based iMac and I'm having trouble getting a clean install of MacOS10.5.8 and Win XP (through Bootcamp) on a new drive.
The problem stems from the fact that I have no internal optical drive.  My Superdrive began acting up a while ago (couldn't recognize, read from, or write to DVD). I replaced the drive, but the problem persisted.  Calling Apple Support, they determined (guessed?) the problem was the logic board, and, as the machine is out of warranty, isn't worth replacing.  No big deal - I've been using an external USB optical drive when needed.
However, my hard drive is beginning to experience issues (SMART Failure), and I want to reinstall everything MacOS, Bootcamp/Win XP on a clean new drive.  The problem is that I cant resinstall Win XP to Bootcamp without an internal drive (which seems unlikely to ever work).  I've tried creating a bootable USB key with the XP installation files going through the Bootcamp installation process using the WintoFlash/rEFIt method, but to no avail (won't recognize boot from USB).
Is it possible to remove the internal hard drive, boot from MacOS (10.5.8) on an external drive, and connect the optical drive to the sATA port where the internal drive was?  Or is there a second sATA port on these logic boards?  Or can I somehow connect the USB optical drive in a way that the iMAC thinks it's internal?  I'm not afraid of digging into the iMAC (changed HDD and Superdrive already).
Is there anyway to test the pATA connection on my logic board to find out if it's really the problem?  If it's not, maybe I can install WinXP on a second Windows formated drive, to take the space of the internal Superdrive.
There must be some good ideas out there somewhere.  Barring that, my only other option is to use Parallels and take the performance hit that comes with running a virtual machine.  UGH!

If your computer with an internal optical drive you must use that to install Windows in a Boot Camp partition.
If you are having problems with Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox virtual machines you should visit their respective sites for assistance.

Wiped our old iPad 1 clean, now can't install iOS from iTunes using laptop PC (W Vista).  iTunes does not "see" the device.  Tried uninstalling and installing iTunes on laptop.  Also bought new USB cable.  The iPad is charging, but that's all it does.  Just want to get it operating again for browsing and e-reading.

OK.  You merely erased the content and settings.  The IOS is still there.
If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures.  From what you've already stated, my guess is that you'll end up with Recovery Mode described in the last paragraph.
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

  • Can a T60 (with completely zero-ed hard disk) install a hard disk drive from a CD? Or floppy only?

    Hi
Yikes - I am in deep trouble !
Following a virus attack, I have zero-ed my Thinkpad T60's hard disk (using KillDisk), but now when I try to install WindowsXP Pro from a CD, but although it can read the CD and does get so far... it says it cant read the hard disk !
I was hoping to install the correct driver (see below) but now I can't find my floppy disk drive for my T60.
Is it possible for DOS to read off a DVD or a CD?
I have tried to download a file which I am hoping is the correct driver

But without a floppy drive I dont know how to get it into my T60!
Is it possible to put the data onto a CD or a DVD and read from there?
    Cheers

  • Installing CS3 from portable drive?

    Hello All,
I would like to install CS3 from a portable drive, avoiding hanging around and doing the multiple disc swaps - could any one point me in the right direction?
i have been charged with the task of maintaining 40+ Macs of various specs for a graphics department. I need to deploy CS3 to machines all over the building, many of them not networked. The install understandably takes a little while and requires me flitting between machines swapping the discs round a lot. It would be grand if I could have the install on a USB/FW drive, plug in and toddle off on other jobs while it works it's magic. Is this possible and where might I look for more info?
    Help much appreciated.

    Hello Neil.
Is there a way to do it (from the external hard drive) ?
I believe the answer is no.
You can use Apple's Media Exchange Program to exchange the DVD media for CD media, purchase or access an external DVD drive that is capable of booting the computer from the Tiger install disc or if your Mac has a Firwire port (which I'm sure it does) and it supports Firewire Targer Disk mode and you have access to another Mac that supports the same with a DVD drive, you can connect both Macs via Firewire Target Disk mode and install Tiger from the Mac with the DVD drive on your Mac.
