  • Install CS4 web premium on a new computer without "old product/serial number" that I need to validate this copy?

I am trying to install CS4 web premium on a new computer and have the serial number/date of purchase for this product, but at the start of installation it wants an old product previously installed and what that serial number is.  There's a chance it's on some old computer in a box, but I haven't seen / used a product besides CS4 in years (purchased in 2011) and don't know how I can put it on this new computer & get back to using it without knowing this mystery serial number? Thanks for your help & suggestions

It appears you purchased an upgrade version of CS4 and if so you are required to prove that you qualify for using it.  This means you need to identify the old version and its serial number - no way around that.  You will need to find that mystery version information.  If you check your Adobe account online you might find it.

  • Can I install Adobe Web Premium CS6 over CS5 on Yosemite?

I've downloaded and installed Adobe web premium CS5 and registered it. My company paid an upgrade for CS6. What are steps for installing CS6 - can I upgrade directly from CS5 without uninstalling it?

CS6 is a separate install, so whether you remove CS5 beforehand or just leave it in place is ultimately entirely your choice.

  • Cannot install CS4 Web Premium

I am having problem in installation CS4 Web Premium in my Windows Vista x64 Ultimate. I will get Internet Explorer SCript Error:
An error has occurred in the script on this page
    Line: 2
    Char: 1
    Error: Invalid character
    Code: 0
    URL: file://C:/Users/xxxxx/AppData/Local/Temp/ahmbedAlter.html
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? Yes/No
I can't do anything once this happened. Tried to Yes or No will not help. After clicking many times, a dialog box will come up for follow up action (like to quit?) but there is no OK or Cancal or whatever button. I have to use Task Manager to kill the installation program.
I have tried to search for installation script error but none seems to be the same as mine. I appreciate your help.
    Thank you.

  • Can't install CS4 Design Premium on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

    Hi All,
I've been scouring forums, and trying suggested fixes to no avail. I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit on a brand new internal hard drive. I'm in the process of removing all my apps from Vista and reinstalling on this OS. Here's a breakdown on what I've done regarding CS4 Design Premium:
    1) Deactivated the install from Vista.
    2) Verified with Customer Support that my license key is available for install and activation.
    3) Disabled User Account Control setting in Windows 7.
    4) Tried installing from the discs, only to get the error: "Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Customer Support for assistance."
    5) Reattempted installation, as I've read that sometimes a second attempt will work fine. No good.
    6) Downloaded and ran the Win CS5 Cleanup Script (which has an add-on utility for CS3 and CS4) in order to get rid of trace registry files. This did its job successfully.
    7) Found an official trial of CS4 Design Premium, which downloaded straight from Adobe's website. Tried installing that, as I've read that the trial can be successful over the discs. No good.
Does anyone have any other help they can offer? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you,
    Jessica

It’s a head-scratcher. It appears that you took spsaxena’s advice and renamed the Config.Msi folder and then, during installation, a new new Config.Msi folder was created, but you weren’t allowed access to it?
You then “took ownership” of the new Config.Msi and still the install program stated it couldn’t write to a file in the folder? Was it able to write any “rbf” files in Config.Msi?
I’m on CS5 now, but I was running CS4 on an in-place upgrade to Windows 7, 64-bit — but I don’t recall that Apple supported CS4 installation on Window 7 That may be part of the problem.
It’s a long shot, but you could try setting the setup file to compatibility mode for Windows Vista 32-bit: right-click the executable, click the Compatibility tab, checkmark Run this program in compatibility mode for:, and select Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) from the drop-down list (or the others, you can play with them all). You can also check-mark Run this program as an administrator.

  • I installed CS4 Web Premium, do I need to uninstall CS2? (I don't have CS3) If so, how?

I thought the installer would just upgrade my existing CS2 apps but after I installed CS4, I saw that all the CS2 apps were still there! Do I need to uninstall them manually? If so, how? Is there any danger in doing that? Or should I uninstall CS4 then uninstall CS2, then reinstall CS4???? Thanks much for any advice/help!

    Karen,
No. This is a full-version upgrade, meaning that it is a complete installation, independent of any past versions installed. Both versions can coexist and can be used.
But if you double-click on a file to launch the application, the most recent version prevails. If you prefer to have the older version default (for the current work session), launch it first, then double-click on the files to work on them.

  • Re-installing CS4 web premium

    Hello all,
I have a new macbook pro and used the migration asisstant to transfer files and software from the old to the new computer. Unfortunately, the Adobe CS4 wouldn't load. When I clicked on the icon to enter the code, it crashed over and over. So I thought I would re-install the software. I downloaded it from the Adobe downloads page and ran the installer but it doesn't install the software.  The CS4 option is grayed out. I tried uninstalling and then ran the installer again but the same thing occurred. Help?
    Thanks

    Run the Adobe Cleaner Tool
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
    Then re-install CS4. You'll need your CS4 serial number.

Migration never works for Adobe software. It must be installed.

  • I upgraded my computer from Windows Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Professional and I am attempting to install CS4 Web Premium.

I downloaded the latest CS4 from the support site and installed, entering my registration number.  Installation seemed to go well but when I try to open Photoshop, I get a message that there are some files missing in the application folder and I must reinstall.  I've done this about 3 times now. Can someone help?

  • Data Base is corrupt message when Installing CS4 web premium unto new computer

Just purchased a new HP desktop running Win7-64bit and when attempting to load CS4 I keep getting an error message indicating that "Installer data base is corrupt", and to contact Adobe Customer Service.  I already have it installed in another HP DT running Win7 64bit so I don't believe the new machine could be the problem... any suggestions?

I'm having a very similar issue and it seems to me that absolutely no one knows anything about this and/or are willing to help.  They've given me some advice but nothing has helped and when I ask more questions for specifics they won't respond.

  • Can't Install Adobe Web Premium CS6 Trial

    "We've encountered the followimng issues
Installer faild to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."
I downloaded The Support Advisor but it tells me the following
"Inspection could not identify any issues. Please contact Adobe Support for further assistance. http://www.adobe.com/support"
    So what do I do???

You will want to manually review the installation log files to determine the cause of the installation failure.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the log files at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

  • Still can't install CS4 Design Premium on Windows 8.1

  • CS4 Web Premium Installation "Installer Database Corrupt.  Contact Adobe Customer Service."

    I need help.
I just purchased a HP Envy 23 running Windows 8.  It came with Adobe Premiere and Elements 11 already installed.
I own Lightroom 3, which I installed very quickly and easily.
I own CS4 Web Premium with the serial number at hand.  I insert the disk 1 to install and the error message appears: "Installer Database Corrupt. Contact Adobe Customer Service."  After serveral attempts, I resort to researching on this forum.
In the forum, found here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1238032 I was asked to go the linked website and download and specifically follow the instructions to install CS4 from the internet.  I did what I was told as closely as possible.
I received the same error message: "Installer Database Corrupt."
I asked if I needed to uninstall Elements 11 before trying to install CS4 but haven't received a response.  Actually, now Adobe won't let me sign on with my password and when I request for a new one it doesn't send me a confirmation email so I have resorted to making a new username.
I called Adobe about the issue with the error and was directed back here to the forum because they do not have phone service support for CS2, CS3, CS4, or CS5 because it is "old" technology.  I am loosing lots of work time because I can't seem to get a quick response to my questions here on the forum.
I found another forum saying that I need to rename the file "caps.db." to "xcaps.db" and it will install just fine.  I did what it said, looking for any and every folder in both premiere and elements to rename anything that began with "caps"  After doing so, I still got the error message.
What I need to know is:
    1. How can I install CS4 Web Premium either by disk or internet without getting an error.
    2. Must I totally uninstall Elements and Premiere to get CS4 installed?  I really don't want to do that since I paid for them with the purchase of my computer.
I'd really like some answers.  Thanks.

You're going to need to be more specific about what I am supposed to do because I'm very unfamiliar with computer lingo.  I don't know what an OEM is and I am unsure about these backup disks you are referring to.  The expertise on this forum is the only lifeline I have to fixing this Adobe issue so I really want to try my best here to get things resolved.  I've not heard of deleting caps.db and haven't heard of anything to do with medai.db files before.  I'm supposed to delete these instead of renaming caps?

  • Flash will not install from CS4 Web Premium on XP

I installed CS4 Web Premium a while back and, since I do not do a lot of Flash development, I didn't realize right off that Flash CS4 did not install. However, I just tried to go back and install it from the DVD and it shows in the list but the box in front of it is uncheckable. The heading at the top says to check the boxes to install or reinstall the applications. Other programs such as Dreamweaver, Contribute, Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc. can be checked but the box in front of Flash (and Soundbooth, etc.) are unresponsive. I do still have CS3 Web Premium on this machine which has Flash CS3 Professional and Flash CS3 Video Encoder as well as also still having Studio 8 and CS 2 with Flash 8 and Flash 8 Video encoder and InDesign CS2 & CS3, Visual Communicator, VlogIt, etc.. Do I need to remove any of those first? This machine is about 3 years old (Dell Optiplex GX620) running Win XP. I'm about to upgrade to a new machine in about a month that will be running Windows 7. So I will be doing a clean install of CS4 Web Premium then. But it would be nice to fix this so I can work on some Flash files before then. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I'm assuming you are using the Manual Install. Did you already Uninstall any current Flash Player version?
If not, download and SAVE to your Desktop the Uninstaller:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Then download and SAVE to your Desktop the Installer:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
Use the EXE Installer for Windows and Internet Explorer. Use the EXE Installer for the plugin based browsers
Then use the Administrator Account and CLOSE all browser Windows. Disable any instant messenger service from the system tray.
Run the Uninstaller and reboot(restart) your computer.
Then Run the Installer and reboot.
That message appears because the IE browser window is open.
    Thanks,

  • Cs4 web premium on windows 2000 sp4

    Hi all,
I had to install cs4 web premium on a win 2000 server as my development box. During installation I got "unsupported configuration - ..this software requies winxp sp2 or later. please upgrade or adjust your system to meet these minimum requirements...".
How can I adjust the system?
    Regards,
    Sean

Creative Suite 4 requires at least Windows XP for installation. The adjustment in this case is to do a clean install of Window XP (or later, including Windows Vista or Windows 7) and then install CS4.
